The pain was excruciating and my regular doc could not see me until June 2 so I called Dr. Groya's office because no one but him (knowing my mother-in-law's situation) would believe how this happened. Dr. Groya was amazing. He helped me immensely - made sure that I was out of pain and really cared about me. His office squeezed me in, listened and CARED. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this doctor.

He is super experienced and competent, and he also has great bedside manner. He patiently answers all questions and takes his time to make sure you are well cared for. He doesn't try to rush you out the door like some doctors do. His nurse Penny is also excellent. From the moment I called the office I felt like she cared a lot about my situation and about me as a person. I wouldn't wish a broken ankle on anyone - it hurts! But if anyone I know does go through this I am sending them to Dr. Groya and Penny.

Requiring a credit card to see a pediatric patient with an immediate injury, even though the patient has had 100% verified insurance in their own system, and you also have a very good PPO in network with them (or so they say) is just ridiculous. and if you ask them not to keep the credit card info in their system for privacy reasons, they simply say well then we refuse to see you. Even if you offer to pay cash. That is very suspicious. That is also not doing the best thing for patients. This needs to change. I have the right as a patient to check my insurance EOB before being charged on my credit card and ****Stop acting like this is a retail business*** it's a medical facility. Please stop treating Patients like a commodity or just a business. You should not be in the medical field as owners of a clinic if this is how you treat and see your patients.

The trouble started today, as they called to let me know I missed my appointment. Trouble is they sent the schedule to me back in October. My appointment was not at the time they called for, not to mention the day was wrong also. When I called back to let the desk person was telling they changed my schedule, why not tell or better yet ask the patient if that would be okay. I am going there tomorrow to get all this junk fixed.

I have since found out I never…read moreshould have had surgery in the first place and should have been prescribed physical therapy. From other reviews I have read, Dr. Hook seems to be very surgery happy because that must be the bigger money maker. I have had nothing but complications post op. I also fell in the Advocate Condell Surgery Center after the surgery. I had just woken up and needed to use the restroom. His staff put me on crutches to walk alone and I had a nerve block in my foot and leg and a cast. I fell in the bathroom and smashed my foot on the floor. Dr. Hook is aware of this and the results of the injuries to my foot and has done nothing to help me. Because I was in excruciating pain for months, I sought a second opinion from a doctor at Illinois Bone and Joint. He ordered an EMG and MRI. EMG showed extensive nerve damage in my foot and leg. The MRI shows the ligaments that Dr. Hook supposedly repaired is still torn. Also, I found out post surgery that Dr. Hooks fellow, Edgar Sy, did a large portion of my surgery without my knowledge or consent. During my last visit with Dr. Hook, he reviewed the EMG and MRI and denied the ligament is still torn. I was in tears asking him what I'm supposed to do with a messed up foot and can't walk properly and his comment was that he can't remember my surgery because he does so many and mine was a few months prior. I'm going to be reporting this to the Illinois Department of Health. Its really sad when you trust a doctor and his staff to care for you with such total disregard.

He explains everything to you. I went to an orthopedic surgeon that was recommended in LaGrange Park and he was wackadoodle! Said I was going to need knee replacements in both knees within ten years. He said I don't trust the MRI report and the problem is when I get in there for surgery, I can't find what needs to be repaired! He also said no one is going to take you with that health insurance! I have Cigna and it's a great insurance and pays out sooner that BCBS. I went to Dr. Hallmann and he said you need surgery for a meniscus tear. Before surgery I called the office because I'm very sensitive to pain meds and asked if I could use tylenol or aleeve. They put me on hold and and he got on right away and answered my questions. The surgery was successful and the other thing that I liked about him is he he doesn't believe in a lot of physcial therapy. He gives you the exercises to do at home immediately and i think I had three weeks of PT at Lagrage Hospital. Look no further he's a great doc, you will love him!

In 2018 my issues has degraded to the point I could no longer walk, stand or move much without assistive devices and LOTS of pain. I went to Spinal Specialists, Pain Management Specialists, Surgeons, Physical Therapists, hell I even tried acupuncture and no one could help me for over a year.
