Shortly thereafter, we had an explanation of the damages (based on the pics), a quote, and available times for a [same-day] appointment to repair. David, It is…read moreobvious your words (see below where you pleaded Mia Coupa / my bad) were merely an effort to assuage prospective customer's fears about doing business with you. Bottom line you have no intention of making good on your offer to clean up the awful mess you made. Approximately a week ago I asked you if you were confident you could correct the mess you made. You never responded. That is not the posture of a man who regrets what he has done. In your initial response you suggested 2 options (.... I would like to offer full repair at no additional cost to you to help make things right or a partial refund.... Please let me know what feels fair to you, and how best we can proceed.). I think it is in both of our best interests to end this project on friendly terms. Instead of a partial refund, please return all of the money. I will need it to hire someone to clean up what you did, buy additional materials and then complete the job correctly. And here's the kicker, you used tunnel vision on this project. I am a senior citizen with friends, family and I belong to several organizations. One of the most common conversations I hear is 'I wish I had a reliable, handyman, I could trust'. Here are some of the words you offered in the way of an apology: ... I also deeply regret that I accepted a job I was not fully prepared for,... ... I failed to honor that trust, and I take full responsibility. My vow to you and my future customers definitely include additional training to ensure this never happens again... I had an interior vaulted ceiling sheetrock repair, several cracks in the sheetrock in the living room, an exterior doorframe that was rotting and needed to be repaired and resealed, a couple of areas in the exterior wood overhang that needed resealing and a ceiling fan that needed rebalancing. All work was done expeditiously and expertly and they were OK with my concerns and were accepting of my insistent oversight. Juan was a master at repairing the sheetrock as I cannot even tell where the repairs were done. The ceiling work was considerably high up and Juan had to maintain good balance to reach the repair area. I considered the charges reasonable; they worked about four hours and there were some additional material charges. I was charged by the hour as they advertised and there was no additional surcharge for a two-man team. I have additional work that needs to be done and I plan to use them again.
