I couldnt get out of bed so i decided to…read morecall in sick to work. i needed a doctors note to cover my day off. my husband had to get me dressed and brush my hair so we could go. when I got to there the receptionist asked me what I needed and I said a note for work she looked at me up and down with pursed lips & said "well that will be a long time" with so much attitude. There were only about 3 people in the waiting room. I said I would go somewhere else and reached for my card back she rolled her eyes and said "okaaayyyyy" like she was 16yrs old, mind you she was probably around 60. I got in my car balling my eyes out. I don't understand why she treated me with such disrespect, why she looked me up and down and judged me when I said I needed a note for work. Sometimes, even though people may appear perfectly fine it's because were trying our best to hold it all together. As a clinic receptionist I would expect less judgement and more kindness to everyone you come in contact with. I ended up going to the clinic on Walker and Ottawa. The receptionists, nurses and doctor all treated me with the utmost respect and were SO kind. I also got in 10 minutes after I gave them my health card. Everyone told me to take care of myself. It honestly put in perspective just how rude the receptionist at the Hawthorne clinic was. Shame on her for the way she treated me. I won't jump to conclusions but just because I'm a decent looking girl in my 20s DOESNT mean you can treat me like that and DOESNT mean im lying about something being wrong with me. I will NEVER go back to that clinic ever ever again.

This place is the most unwelcoming place for PSW student's . To start students are not allowed to…read morepark in the parking lot, they had to park at church and walk to the building in the dark. Students are not allowed to eat in the staff room, told go find somewhere else to eat. They where not allowed to use change room if staff where present. Many more things where unexpectable as well. During this time of age for there is shortage of staff in Long Term Care you would think the staff and management would at the least show some kind of kindness or mutual respect for students as everybody was a student at one time. Image how they treat the residents if they treat students this bad who can and will speak up for themselves in time. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO WORK OR PUT YOU LOVE ONES IN !!!!!
