They also have a drive-through ATM available in the parking lot which is a great convenience.

For a grand opening, this was a disaster. For an average visit, it was very disappointing. First,…read morethere was no Banner or any other signs indicating this was a grand opening today. Second, they opened a few minutes late. Third, there was scaffolding and men still working in the lobby and outside of the building as well. That, to me, is unacceptable. Fourth, there was an overwhelming awful smell that permeated the bank. I mentioned this to the receptionist as I fled because of the smell. She thought maybe it was because of the wallpaper. It was so bad, I didn't even do what I came in for (paint or other chemicals usually don't bother me). And finally, the tellers were not smiling or welcoming, and it was eerily silent. It was like banking in a mausoleum. I asked about any grand opening specials or promotions. There are none. I was in the parking lot taking pictures of the drive-thru ATM, and a man came running out of the building toward me and told me he was security and he asked me not to take pictures inside the building. He said I was welcome to take all the pictures I wanted of the exterior but for security reasons he did not want me to take interior shots. I explained that I was posting these on Yelp and if he would rather I didn't I wouldn't and I would delete them right then and there. He said "Oh no, that's fine," which made me wonder why in the world he ran out in the parking lot after me in the first place. But I deferred and chose not to post the two interior shots I took. It was an extremely ho-hum, underwhelming, and disappointing experience. I'll happily keep doing business at the E. Ridge Rd. branch, which is only about a mile away.

They do seem to do a lot for the Rochester community and have a noble mission - I think I was just…read moreunlucky and had a bad experience with them trying to execute that mission. I was working through applying for the First Time Homebuyers club. It's a tedious process that requires printing a ridiculous amount of paper. The person I was working with was uninspired and gave off the overall vibe that I was inconveniencing them by applying. There was an extreme lack of communication, and ultimately it was up to me to figure out that I was denied 2 months into the process. She never bothered to tell me I was denied. Once I questioned Neighborworks about it, they said I was over the income requirements; they showed me the final application, and the worker put down my wrong income info. I would love to make what she said I make - but I showed them the math (multiple W-2's) and that I was well under the income limit. NO RESPONSE. I had to prod more, and eventually I was told I have to wait for the next calendar year to apply again with this years taxes. No apology, no acknowledgement that they screwed up, nothing. At this point, it's too late for me to apply, I need to buy a house well before I'd finish the saving program. TL;DR - Applied for FHBC. They messed up my application with a math error. Denied by state lending agency. They never told me and never apologized.
