On the day we stopped in, they seemed a bit picked over, but what was there was still great to see. Plant One On Me has some great succulents, air plants and large leafy ferns, with some home pieces mixed in. If you or a loved one is big on plants, they have some funny items that play on this, like T-shirts that says, "If I die water my plants." I also liked how the store uses regular furniture to showcase plants, like a chest of drawers with plants coming out of its drawers. And a fun showstopper: the Plant One On Me selfie wall, with a faux (I think) living wall, neon and a couch. If you are looking for a fun experience while shopping for houseplants, this is definitely the place for you.

I had not wanted to spend much on the trip -- and, well, Blush on Main ended that fantasy pretty quickly. Blush on Main has racks and racks of beautiful women's clothes and accessories. If it weren't for being pregnant, I may have revelled in these racks a bit more. My sister-in-law, though, found a few items to try on here. What I really loved was Blush on Main's hat collection. I'm a sucker for a great hat (for proof, see my main Yelp profile pic). This shop had a few varieties that were particularly good for more regular wear, such as when outside at home, at farmers markets, on vacation, etc. I found a straw hat with a blue band that I had to have. It cost around $45, I believe, which was over my budget for the day (see the second paragraph above) but not so much to break the bank. I forked over my credit card, and I wore the hat the rest of the day. My sister-in-law and mother-in-law also got great hats. My friend from university recently passed, and his visitation was held at Linnemann. I was very…read moreimpressed with the extent of preparations that went into the evening on such short notice: - Two funeral home attendants each stationed at both the front and rear entrances. - Guest books at both entrances. - Cards for donations. - A writing station for loved ones to scribe their favorite memories of the deceased. - An entire room filled with photo collages of his life. - A color booklet with pictures and a detailed story of my friend's life, including quotes about fond memories from his family. There were enough booklets so that everyone in attendance could take one home. - A 15 minute video complete with moving images, music and quotes from and about my friend. It was edited in storytelling fashion, discussing his life from beginning, to university and beyond, both hardships and high points. The visitation was an open casket. While a person never resembles how you remember them in life, Linnemann did a fine job of making him appear at rest. Next to the casket was a poster board featuring the last speech my friend wrote. He was a motivational speaker and this made for a beautiful touch. Sadly, I've attended many funerals in my life, but Linnemann has by far offered the best service. The facility itself is modern, clean, and bright. The rooms are spacious and can accommodate large groups of mourners. There are also plenty of chairs and couches in each of the rooms. Ample free parking is available in the lot across the street as well. Linnemann went above and beyond to make a comfortable grieving process for both my friend's relatives and for those who knew him socially. It was the perfect bridge of connecting his loved ones of all ages and from all walks of life.
