I am so, so glad I found PureLife! Their space is beautiful, with a relaxing waiting area (you can have a Japanese foot soak while you wait!), friendly and to-the-point check-in process, and a wonderful staff that makes you feel like you've known them for years. Let me first give you this disclaimer: the only massages I had regularly done in the past were mostly "feel good" massages; none were really scheduled to target an particular area. At my first appointment, Carrie introduced me to cupping: a form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin to pull fascia closer to the surface and to mobilize blood flow, in order to promote healing. And whew! She had warned me, but man, I was in pain! You can feel it working instantly, which also means for people who have never had it done before (like me), the feeling of the suction pulling at your deep tissues can be exhilarating, fear-inducing, and tense. She assured me the whole time that although it hurt at that moment, I would thank her for it two days later. I wasn't sure I could trust her, having only just met her, but I continued. Afterward, I half-way reluctantly scheduled my next appointment for the following month. As she had forewarned, by the second day, I felt great! My back, and whole body, had never felt so limber and not sore! Every appointment, I now ask for the cupping and we laugh about my initial hesitation about rescheduling. Overall, this place is the best! I highly recommend you try it!

They have opted to remove the doors to the treatment rooms in order to speed up treatments and move more bodies through the clinic. This takes away any privacy patients once had to discuss personal medical information during their intake. It also takes away a sense of safety for their treatment. A nervous system cannot move into a healing state when it feels like it needs to be on guard in a room with no door. When I reached out to the owner about my concerns I was told that "change is hard" and that "anyone who has experienced trauma will be referred to a therapist that can help them with that." The problem is that we have all experienced trauma and continue to on a regular basis. And receiving bodywork like chiropractic is something that should be done in an environment that feels safe to the body and nervous system. Everything about these changes is saying profit over people and it has left a bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately I no longer feel comfortable recommending the clinic to my friends and community. I will continue to go see Dr. P and team for now because I am still hoping the owners will see what a huge misstep this is and will choose to listen to the feedback from their patients. I also opted to write the yelp review because I have sent multiple emails trying to explain why this choose is so incongruent with true healthcare and every single time I was told that the changes are there to provide better care for their patients. I would love to see the staff happy again and receive care in a safe environment.

Staff were kind and friendly. I walked into the office with 25 years of problems built up plus a recent report from and ER visit to help the doctor with her exam. From the first hand shake Dr. Sacon was watching how I walked, checking the weight of the purse I carry, she herself walking backwards to her office as she lead me there. Already I had a feeling that I was going to like her - already I did not feel like a number. We discussed my issues and when/how they came to be and decided where to begin the focus of treatment. During her first treatment on the back, she also noticed another condition that might exist in my body's chemistry and we are treating me like I have it to see if my body responds which is part of normal diagnosis for it. I found it a fascinating catch and did match symptoms to which regular doctors had simply said "I don't know" to and then sent me out their doors. I was also given some beginning exercises to work on to begin rehab. I am not a simple case and it will take time to address various issues and I will have to do my part in this. If you don't do the work, don't expect the result. Dr. Sacon tells you the truth of what she sees and thinks can be treated, and doesn't lead you on with miracle overnight fixes. For some, overnight fix might be all they need as others, like me, are more complex in their build-up and cause of injuries. The doctor also does not force a schedule on you allowing you to determine what works best for you and your own busy life. By a couple days after first actual manual treatment on my low back, I actually noticed the overall pain in it was reduced. Honestly wasn't even expecting that. I will be staying with Dr. Sacon and her great attention to detail for a while to see what kind of progress we can make.

I gave this Quack medical reports showing objective proof of injury and showing that I am a surgical candidate for my left shoulder. I have a left elbow flexion contracture since 2012 due to a triple crush on my ulnar nerve and this Quack in the first ten minutes thought she could straighten my left elbow. She reported that she straightened my left elbow in which she did not! I would straighten my own damn elbow if it were not frozen at 45*. I was a fool to let her touch my left arm. I also suffer with  a HAGEL lesion on my left shoulder. A tear from ten to 3 o clock and this Quack ignored this fact and ignored my MRI arthrogram while pulling on my left arm anyway so hard I felt my shoulder rip down to my middle back on my left side. I ended up in the emergency room that day in horrific pain and I have been in horrible pain in my left elbow and shoulder under my left shoulder blade down my back next to my spine ever since causing me to see my primary doctor twice for this injury. Moreover, because I am on worker's comp this medical Quack thinks she can ignore the 32 current medical reports that I gave her and she even doubted that I was telling the truth about my accepted conditions. Traveler's insurance drug me through court for four years even with objective proof of injury. I have suffer horribly with these injuries so I do know what the hell my accepted conditions are. This Quack expressed doubt about my accepted conditions as if I would lie about this to her. She expressed that she did not believe me. It was a painful, humiliatingly and abusive experience.  Not a good way to start a doctor patient relationship and she even invited me back. There is no way in hell that I would return.  So I do not recommend this doctor for any patient with serious injuries on worker's comp or not. Beware!

Having never had acupuncture before I wasn't sure what to expect. Mary Jean took the time to explain it to me and I was truly amazed after each session how much better I felt. I had seen her for a hurt shoulder and would definitely recommend her services to anyone with any kind of pain or even just for general relaxation. I also had my very first massage there this week with Phoenix. Her space was inviting and coming. She really focused on the areas that I had expressed concern about and I left our session feeling better and looser than before. They have also taken their safety precautions to the next level. I felt completely safe and comfortable in their home and each room. I would highly recommend them!

That was actually great because the nature of my accident meant that I couldn't get adjusted right away. I sent them my insurance information, which is Kaiser, and waited patiently for my appointment. On the day that I arrived, the receptionist informed me that they would be charging me an extra $40 on top of my co-pay because "Kaiser is very unhelpful, doesn't pay them enough or in a timely manner" I was not willing to pay additional money outside of my co-pay for their "inconvenience". So I left and I sent a follow-up email to the owner. Not necessarily about the fee, but the lack of communication leading up to the appt. They KNEW I had Kaiser and it would have been a great time to communicate the additional fee. Also, if it is such a pain, why do they even accept Kaiser insurance. See below for my email to the clinic and the owners arrogant and unprofessional response : Me: Well - like I told you- and you were very nice- I just wish I had been notified prior to my appt that you were going to charge me extra because I had Kaiser Insurance. I haven't been to a new chiro in a few years- but I've never been charged extra outside of what my insurance will pay for my care. It was a massive inconvenience to schedule this appt 3 weeks in advance, right in the middle of my workday - just to be told my copay I was expecting would be more than double. I even sent the info over that I was a Kaiser patient weeks ago. If you look at the prior email thread. That would have been a great time to inform me of the additional charge. I was just looking for a chiropractor- I don't need any general practice care or office exams- I see my PCP on a reg basis. And it wasn't made clear there would be additional services or charges besides just a chiropractic exam. I guess- long story short- I just wish communication had been more clear up front. Robs response: Lacye, I'm sorry that you were disappointed by the extra charge on top of your copay. Here's the deal: CHP pays us an amount that is downright insulting. My compromise was to continue to see patients and let them use their insurance but I had to charge them extra due to the extremely low reimbursement rates. For example, (as I have kaiser insurance as well), an MD who does a 20min telehealth visit gets around $230 via kaiser. I get for a 30min visit $44 including your copay, which is insulting and is also untenable to continue to stay in practice. Now if you are only looking for a quick 10min visit then I'm sure you'll find plenty of places that you can get that type of in/out treatment. However, we go above and beyond, we treat first visits for an hour and follow ups for 30mins, as we want to address all issues in a holistic way, meaning not just address your pain, but also where it's coming from and why it's happening. We are required to do an exam at the first visit and after it has been 6mos since the prior visit. Thus, the only way to continue to keep accepting CHP/Kaiser was to charge patients extra money since they don't cover soft tissue work, extremity adjustments or any type of extremity work, etc.. They only pay for a spinal adjustment, which is like 5-10mins of our time. In the future you could get a referral from your primary and then their wouldn't be an extra charge as an option. I truly would rather not do this type of thing, but I couldn't stay in business if I was to accept what they paid me. Thanks for your time and understanding, and also not understanding about how insurance works and thinking, what? That we were trying to screw you over? That we were being dishonest? Did you stop to think about reimbursement rates, about how long we spend with you? About how much time we spend actually touching your body, listening to you? Does your MD do that? Do they actually touch you, feel where you're having issues? Probably not. If you'd like to reconsider paying us, that would be great! If not, then you can rest with the guilt that a doctor spent their time with you and you couldn't be bothered to understand what your insurance actually pays out and you walked out.
