Ordered some disposable masks that stated were in stock and available for immediate shipping on their web site. After a week of no updates or delivery, I contacted the company, they were waiting for masks to be back in stock. After another week of no updates or delivery, I contacted them again. They informed me that that they shipped my masks to the wrong address in RI instead of MA and were waiting for them to be returned to them so that they could ship to me. I cancelled my order and asked for a full refund. After three days of no refund, I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges from this company for the masks that I never received. Customer service is absolutely horrific at this company, would advise getting your supplies from a more reputable, reliable, accountable company. read more

They have a great selection of products. Most of these products are very competitively priced. It's one of the few public safety suppliers that specializes in EMS. Shipping is usually pretty quick and the prices don't gouge. But there's one thing that holds me back from giving a near-perfect review. Namely, many of their brand-name products aren't in stock. In fact, they're often drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer. The problem with this is that Common Cents often doesn't know if these items are in stock, on back order, or when they'll be shipped. Even more frustrating, their website doesn't reflect this information nor does it advise whether items are in stock. If they could fix these shortcomings, I'd recommend them without hesitation. read more

Established in 1996.

Having served with the American Red Cross stationed with the US Army in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm our Founder and President JT Dunn returned to go to college while a Firefighter-EMT. For two years selling EMS Supplies in Connecticut and Rhode Island for Greenfield Medical Products formerly of Shrewsbury MA, he felt that he could provide his customers with better service by starting his own company which he did in 1996. With his life savings and working out of his mothers basement in Clinton CT, the company grew and moved to Old Saybrook CT. Today employing seven and operating out of a large commercial facility. President JT Dunn currently has the honor of serving as Fire Chief in Old Saybrook.

Customer service is severely lacking…read more When I finally found a staff member, I asked about finding a vegetable plant I wanted. She had no idea and called for back up. The other staff member came over so that the three of us where all about 5 feet apart. The original staff member explained that I was looking for a plant and the new staff member did not acknowledge me and told the other staff member that the plants were sold out and "she should've planted those plants in the ground already; they won't even take now" in a scolding tone (yes, she was aware it was me looking to buy). She was offensive, she wouldn't look at me or speak to me - the paying customer, and I stood there mouth agape. She didn't care or notice because she never looked at me, of course, and just walked off. After a moment of processing the intense dismissive snobbery, I walked away from the rest of my cart and left. (Please note: I work two jobs and managed to buy the plant elsewhere and had a wonderful harvest despite the timing not being ideal. - Also, I heard later that the rude staff member was related to the owners, but cannot verify). Another time before the one above, I had gone to grab some plants and asked the staff member at checkout about a specific type of bush. She had no idea and wanted to radio in to someone else working that section. It was taking him a bit to respond, so while waiting, I said, "no worries, I'll come back another time, I don't have the time now." She ignored me and kept radio-ing, I said, "really, now is not good. No need to call him." And she continued to ignore me and call on the radio - while not ringing me up. In the end I said, "you know what, I don't need any of these items" and she finally faced me saying "Oh, are you sure? Ok. Have a great day." Just - what?!?! Most staff do not know about the plants or care, they just work there, so a heads up if you're looking for that highly knowledgable service. Driving in/out and parking is a nightmare unless it is empty. Scratching your car to fit two cars on the road is almost inevitable. The energy here is all weird. They are always frantic on the radios as if they are all always annoyed at each other or annoyed to have to do their job, the majority of staff members I have met don't respect their customers (they seem to avoid them), and it is a very cramped shopping experience. While yes, this place is overpriced, I'm happy to pay a little extra for a local business and not a big box store. That said, this isn't a little extra and they don't treat their customers well at all. We all arrive at garden centers smiling and excited for the warmer weather, it is odd to have such poor treatment when the buy in is there from the start. That points to leadership, but who knows. No longer a place I frequent or recommend, but still might go in a pinch with very low expectations.

In short, They run like a small business that cares about its customers. Our last two purchases had defects from the manufacturers. ! item was a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator where the water dispenser stopped functioning after one year. Shore TV got the manufacturer to replace the item with a new one and even threw in the $70 water filter replacement. The unit had been incorrectly insulated and evidently the water line was frozen by Fisher & Paykel running it too close to the freezer. The second item was a GE induction range. The unit was DOA on arrival as the oven kept shitting off. It was going to be several weeks to get a replacement and Shore TV had already removed our old stove. We would have been out of luck but Shore TV offered (and we took them up on it ) to provide a temporary replacement stove (electric and basic) until the part for the GE came it. While I skeptical that replacing a part on a new stove was not a great idea (I wanted a brand new one), Shore assured me the item would be correct when they got the part. It was . They were extremely accommodating by getting us a stove to use until the replacement part came in (3 weeks) . I am only concerned now because they have combined with a company called Hallocks and their Yelp rating is poor at best.
