The biller Nicole isn't upfront about what you will be paying out of pocket until you've had the procedure done. She's rude, rolls her eyes, always places blame on the patient. Unprofessional is an understatement! The dentist isn't necessarily good or bad. The rest of the staff is very nice but when the biller has an attitude such as this one it just makes for a huge headache. Many others have said the same on Google etc etc. read more

It's unfortunate that the billing department specifically Nicole doesn't communicate and makes it seem as you're bothering her if you ask too many questions. I wish I would have seen all the negative feedback on the other sites also. The hygienist is very good but my dentist Artin Sakhaee was OK at best. Always seemed to be in a rush, being he only sees patients on Thursdays. Nicole conveniently forgot to tell me that when first going there. Do yourself a favor and read other Google comments and see how many other patients had issues with this office. I should add the owner is a super nice guy and tried to smooth things over and apologize for Nicole. Billing and dealing with the public is not a position she should be in. Don't go! Extremely rough on my mouth, and the second dentist that I used after I complained about the first was just as bad... never had such terrible service in my life! Big mistake. The damage is done, have a crown in my mouth that doesn't match any of my teeth.. can only hope that it comes out and could have it replaced by somebody who knows what they're doing.. which based on the service I've gotten it just might come out. read more

PSA: I have gone to this practice several times to only wait long after my scheduled appointment time. HORRIBLE! The receptionist if you want to call them that, are so bad at customer care you have to question why are they employed? Snark responses when presented with a legit question. Do I dare mention the work on my teeth? Sure. They overlooked a few things in my mouth during exam. Bonding fell off to many times to mention. Cavities filled horribly I left feeling for my teeth still being intact. Do not waste your time on this mediocre dentist practice. You'll avoid a lot of headache. Oh, they lose xrays and molds of your mouth within a month. They try to get you to redo them to incur all that cost AGAIN. Unprofessional? 100% Don't say i didn't warn you. read more

This clinic is the worst. The receptionist, Nicole, is unprofessional, rude, and clearly has no understanding of customer service. When you try to reschedule an appointment, she tells you that she'll call you back with the new appointment details, but she never does. If you call later to check on the status, she acts as if she never received your call and starts blaming you for not showing up to your appointments. It seems like she has some short-term memory issues. I don't understand how this reception is being run. I recommend going to a different clinic instead! read more

They are plenty of dental offices out there. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE! 1. I had a crown put in by them. It was not properly done, so it popped out while eating and I swallowed it accidentally. The front desk told me to SIFT THROUGH MY OWN FECES to find it, PUT IT IN MY DISHWASHER, to sterilize it, and then bring it back for them to put in. I refused. And they backed down, and they replaced it for free. BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN. They finally realized they had to cut away some of the gums so they can properly cement the THIRD one in place. 2. I had a cleaning scheduled one time, they made me sit for almost 2 HOURS, and i missed a work appointment. I finally had to leave and reschedule. 3. I had to cancel an appointment in under a 24 notice, because I found out my dog had cancer and had to be euthanized. THE FRONT DESK SCOLDED ME FOR NOT CANCELLING IN AMPLE TIME FOR THEIR "PRIVATE BUSINESS" 4. Now they want you to sign an agreement that such circumstances will make you liable for a $50 cancellation fee. There is no clause that protects the patient from such unforeseen circumstances. The receptionists are nasty and give scripted answers. "its not my fault" "it wasn't me" attitude. read more

If you want to keep your teeth stay away from this place! Had Osseous surgery with the dentist Dr Sakhaee (laser gum surgery). Ended up with severe Periodontitis and losing both upper left molars!. I had gone back to dentist office a little while after Osseous surgery complaining of sore gums, was told cleanings would fix the problem. Had a total of four cleanings in one year hoping to help with the pain, The last cleaning made the pain worse...The dentist (Sakhaee) was never around!. Even after going back again much later and complaining about the pain being worse. I was never given any antibiotics or help of any kind! Again the doctor was never in the office and the hygienist just said go see a periodontist... No explanation was ever given. By the time I was able to see a periodontist the damage was already done. Now I have to undergo the second tooth removal, a painful sinus lift surgery and bone replacement just to get implants to replace my missing molars. This will also end up costing thousands out of pocket. I can't express how awful this experience had been! read more

Front desk is very helpful and pleasant. I never had the hygienist debate a dentist cavity vs. no cavity. Dentist didn't see it so hygienist made an appointment for me to see another dentist in the practice since she knew I did indeed have a cavity and didn't want me to suffer consequences had it not been addressed. Also had front teeth bonded and the dentist bonded them together so I had to return to have them separated and rebonded since original was so thick and left me no spaces between my teeth. Second visit to repair seemed fine until a few days later a slice came off the back. Went back a third time within two weeks to have repaired They charged me for a repair to correct their inferior workmanship negating my time and energy to return so many times within a two week period. read more

Even though it is rare to associate dental visits with the word pleasurable, Commack Dental design made my visit nothing less than that. Upon entering the office I was greeted and registered quickly. In one visit I saw the hygienist and doctor and had all of my questions addressed. The office is clean and the staff is kind and professional. I cannot wait for my next dental visit. Bizarre bait and switch experience. There is a 4th dentist at this practice who is not on the website and has no reviews, but the receptionist told me she's been working there 8 years, Anita Shashoua. She has poor bedside manner, did not explain things well (or at all), and asked me on the spot to make a decision between a crown and a filling without any further information, then told me I might need two more crowns also (on teeth I didn't believe needed work). My previous dentist sent me here because they don't accept my new insurance and I needed a filling fixed- I never heard anything about crowns and I trust my previous dentist. When injecting anaesthetic, she said, "Yeah this isn't gonna feel good" when doing the actual work she said things like "I shouldn't forget the gauze, that's not good" and when she was finished she told me "it went pretty deep, I put some numbing stuff inside it but I guess we'll see if it works". I have lingering pain so guess it turns out I'll be getting a crown after all??? Really terrible experience. The rest of the staff was lovely. read more

Although I didn't even get the chance to see the dentist the front desk seemed reluctant to help me. I called and no one answered but since I was around I decided to pop in to ask for an appointment and an estimate and they were sitting there, I told them that I didn't have insurance and that I didn't have an appointment but I wanted to get my tooth fixed and was willing to pay cash. I was told that the general dentist wouldn't be in for another week. I would have been more than willing to wait if the front desk hadn't made me feel so uncomfortable. read more

I have always been afraid of the dentist and I hate dental work especially if it involves a lot of pain. The work that was done for me today was amazing. There was no pain and no major discomfort. I was in shock at the fact that there are dental professionals that are out there that make sure that you're as comfortable as can be. INCOMPETENT!!! I just had the worst experience at Commack Dental design. The front desk is extremely incompetent. I called to make an appointment for root canal. They took all of my information and gave me an appointment date for a week and a half later. At the very end of the call, she put me on hold. After 10 minutes, I had to hang up because I was at work. When I called back an hour later to make sure everything was set, she told me she had given my appointment to someone else. When I objected, she told me to keep the appointment she had given me earlier. I received 3 text message reminders & spoke to Nichole again regarding my approval prior to my appointment. She again told me I was all set. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment, now in extreme pain, Dr. Baharestani took 2 xrays and informed me that this appointment was for a consultation, not a root canal. Never was I told, when scheduling my appointment, that it was for a consultation. I was always led to believe that I would be having the root canal procedure. After I became angry, I was told that I had been double booked and there was nothing they could do. They offered to reschedule me. That was not an option, I was in extreme pain, This entire experience was horrible. I would never go back or recommend this office to anyone. Nancy L. read more
