A phenomenal comic book store experience in Evansville. If I lived in the area, this would definitely be local comic shop. They of course have all the new releases. What makes this place special however is their back issue selection. The options were limitless and, in my opinion, rivaled many comic stores I've visited in the New York/New Jersey area where I live. The staff was also extremely friendly and readily available to answer any questions that you might have - something I appreciated because knowledge of the inventory is important in a store like this. I definitely intend to make this spot a regular destination for myself anytime I travel back to the Evansville area. I definitely recommend that you do so as well. read more

I try to support local businesses as much as possible. Since moving to the area a year ago, I've spent a reasonable amount of money at Comicquest, and generally been happy with the selection and service. After my last purchase, their card processor sent me a $5 credit for the store, so today I went in to see what I could find to use it on. I picked up an action figure marked $14.99 and headed to the register. It was manned by a befuddled and frankly a bit paranoid older man who told me he couldn't help me and I'd have to wait for manager Chris to return from outside. He clearly had never been trained to run the register or deal with customers. While I waited, he repeatedly questioned me about the coupon and where I got it, and if I had gone through some arcane process which he clearly had no grasp of and couldn't explain - and acted suspicious of me when I told him (several times) that it was emailed to me. Finally Chris returned and proceeded to ring up the $14.99 action figure at $64! I pointed out the VERY legible $14.99 price tag to him, and the old man started anxiously saying that that wasn't one of their price tags (it certainly was, I had thumbed through 14 other things with exactly the same tags on them before grabbing the one I wanted), asking where I got the figure, and Chris pointed out a tiny round tag on the bottom of the figure that said $59 and was barely legible and almost the same shade as the box it was attached to. Sorry folks - This was my last time coming to the store. Your odd and borderline rude employee and the fact that the manager didn't make any effort to stop his rantings or honor the price affixed to the product killed any chance of me ever doing business with Comicquest in the future. I'll keep shopping at Book Broker, Secret Headquarters and other local shops, and what I can't find there I'll order online. There's nothing in CQ that I can't find for the same price (and in many cases less) online or elsewhere - if you don't care about my experience in your shop as a customer, there's no reason for me to patronize you. read more

Made a pit stop on a family trip, what a great shop. It has something for everyone. I was made to feel like I "belonged". Very competitive pricing on products. But my favorite, which I'm making the trip back for, is the amazing comics back issues they have. WOWZA!!! Worth the trip. read more

Love this place 20yrs ago. Now it's being ran by a guy that has long nasty hair and wears shorts year round and employed his son and friends there. He is a rip off on a lot of things. I will say though when Leilani ran the store it was amazing. You can find a lot here more than the store in Owensboro. The staff doesn't know anything though and look like they are 12. I recommend buy just comics here. If the issues are hard to find. If not try getting vintage books without breaking your bank account Bc that's all that's appealing there. read more

The service there is great, if you're either a male or a gamer. I have been asked multiple times by the store manager if I was in there because my boyfriend sent me after issues. Also they do not have any kind of organization for their comic books but it seems like the keep adding tables for their gaming friends. I had the nerve to ask one visit if they had an issue and the store manager laughed and replied with "even if we find it on the computer who knows where it is in here." I'll choose to buy my comics from the other two local shops or out of state when I travel. This store had many great childhood memories that were ruined when I became an adult. read more

Honestly, I'd like to give this place 4 stars, but I can't. Let's start with the good. The selection is great as far as new and older comics go. It has fantastic selection of comic supplies (bags, boards, boxes, etc.), and if comics aren't your thing there are tons of action figures, anime statues, and card games (I.e. Magic, Pokémon, and various others). I would recommend this place if you are looking for just your standard new releases, minor variants, and supplies. Now for the bad. It's the management that kills this place. The manager runs around looking like beach day Gandalf. He is crappy to the employees and customers alike. He can rarely answer any questions you have, and I sometimes wonder if he knows about the internet. A lot of the times the harder to find comic variants are about twice the price you would pay online, or even at one of the other local shops. Seriously if the shop can get a better manager then I'm sure the ratings would go up. Why spend your money at a place where they don't treat the customers well? It's not the ground level employees that are the issue. Most of them are cool. read more

Great book store for our area. It is well organized but still a little difficult to find specific titles you maybe looking for. The staff was helpful when asked I guess I could have relied on them more. I will be returning for sure. read more

Every time I'm in town I make the trek to Comic Quest. The staff is fantastic and knowledgeable. They always remember me. They have the best collection of table top gaming and comic books of any store I've visited across the nation. There is a reason I have standing boom orders with them and no one else. While I've not stayed for any of the gaming nights it's been great to see lots of players arrive for anything from Magic the Gathering to Dungeons and Dragons. read more

I hadn't been in a comic shop since CrossGen folded. I was in town for business and saw this place, so I stopped. Glad I did. Spacious store with lots of room to move. Plenty of inventory that ranges from older books to newer. Plenty of role play gaming gear and a good selection of collectibles. I had a great time pawing through the numerous bargain bin books, looking for treasure. The staff was great. They seemed eager to help and found everything I asked for. Found a comic written by Jenna Jameson for a buck. It won't win any writing awards, but it makes a great conversation piece. read more

Use to be a great comic book store. The selection is good but the management sucks. They treat good patrons like crap. I stopped going there and instead go to Comics Unlimited, Secret HQ, and book broker. Those other shops appreciate your biz. Dont waste your money at Comic Quest, they dont deserve it. Was in Evansville visiting my parents. They knew I was into comics so they told me about Comic Quest. Even though I have completed my collection, I went anyway and was pleased with all the stock and activities, especially the early '80's video game room! All you can play for 5 bucks. I visited Comic Quest the other day after work. I'm just getting back into D&D and collecting comic books and I want to start playing the card game Magic. It has been my favorite comic store ever since I started reading comics. I also love to collect action figures and they have a lot of them. They are also cheaper on many items and that halps a lot. So in conclusion, I love this place, I've been coming here since I was a kid and I love it and I always will. read more
