Broken shower curtain holders. They don't even care

Absolutely terrible hotel. For the price I paid of $300 for two nights I'm so disappointed. The window was broken so it never actually closed and let in so much outside noise from the street. Called the reception and there was nothing they could do. Several rooms on my floor seemed abandoned?? Door knobs missing, paint chips everywhere. I showered and honestly felt like I needed slippers. The shower had a brown stain all around the drain and up the middle. When I stepped out into the main area I was barefoot and the entire floor was covered in sticky residue... immediately had to go back into the gross shower to attempt to feel clean again. The first night of my stay I also went to brush my teeth and turning on the faucet water it spurted for a few seconds and then a steady stream of brown water came out! I wish I had my phone on me to record but after the shock wore off and I grabbed my phone the water turned clear but I never felt safe using it. Just used my water bottle. Another bathroom issue, the toilet water was also never clear. It constantly came out hued in a yellow color. I do not recommend this terrible hotel to anyone. Also figured I'd also mention that checking in was nice but checking out the front desk lady was busy flirting with another guy. Walked up and told them I was checking out and just got a simple, 'receipt?'. No how was your stay, thanks for staying, come again, any complaints? Nothing. Just 'receipt?'

The one star is because the beds are comfortable (and because zero is not an option). Besides that this is a hotel that is lacking everything I seek in a hotel. The lobby is drab and unwelcoming and the desk staff is barely welcoming as well. The pool is closed, the snack machines don't work, there's things sitting out in the halls. And the free "breakfast" is a joke. The 2 hot items...some Pre made egg and microwave sausage didn't even look edible, the waffle maker isn't working, so no breakfast for me. Not sure how they get away with charging $100+ per night for this dump. Must be due to the lack of options in the area. I actually tried to stay at the Holiday Inn express down the street, but unfortunately for me they were booked. Look elsewhere for a hotel in this area. Totally not worth it.

Elevator floor was filthy during our four day stay.

Sixth stay. Alas, probably our last. Not sure if management changed, but maintenance quality has gone downhill ... way downhill. As this is an annual trip for us, we book in advance ... two rooms next to each other, fourth floor, even numbers (so as to have a wooded lot view rather than the parking lot). When we arrived we were offered rooms on different floors on the parking lot side. After some discussion with the clerk, we were given rooms on the third floor, separated by several doors, but at least on the woods side. The front desk staff is helpful, smiling and friendly as ever. However, the maintenance is terrible. Remember we told you last year that the hot tub in the pool area was down? It is still down ... now covered with plywood. Someone spilled soda in the elevator the day of our arrival and the floor remained sticky with syrup during three of our four-day stay, having turned black from foot traffic by the third day. When we arrived, a guest was changing floors complaining of an odor. Well, when we exited the elevator on the third floor, the hallway reeked of cooked cabbage. Not sure what the source of the smell was (and it did dissipate by the next day). The carpet in our room was damp and musty, possibly from a less-than-effective shampooing immediately prior to our arrival. (We opened the window and turned on the HVAC to quicken the drying.) The exercise room was stuffed with equipment, most of it broken, worn or only partially functional. The breakfast area was neat and clean (we think maybe maintained by separate staff). We've attached a few photos as examples of the bad. Keep in mind, we are showing some of the worst, not the best. There are still pluses to this place (the exceptional front staff being one), but, for us, feeling icky overwhelmed the good.

Got a phone call the night we were checking in at 11:50pm, the make caller wanted to know when we would be arriving so he could complete his "audit" and we told him in 10 mins or so. He said he couldn't close it without payment - I let him know we booked through hotels.com and have already paid. He did some quick checking in his end and stated he was able to see that it was a hotels.com booking so he would need to address the issue with hotels.com but assured us it wasn't an issue for us to be concerned about which we appreciated. Ended the call pleasantly and since the call came through our stereo speakers in our car (bluetooth) my wife and I could both hear him fumbling a bit with the phone to hang it up. Suddenly, we hear him say "BASTARDS"! We had no idea if he was talking to us or about us or possibly hotels.com for making him jump through another hoop. Either way, we actually laughed because it was clear he didn't know we had heard him. Upon arrival the person behind the counter was an older gentleman with a Santa Claus type appearance and demeanor. He was very friendly and welcoming so I didn't even mention that we heard what he said - it gave us a good laugh-no harm no foul. I think his name was Steve. Nice enough man. The lobby was nice and the massive fish tank was very pretty. Sadly, that was the last compliment we will be giving this hotel. AWFUL. It's filthy and I mean filthy once you get out of the lobby. We allegedly had a king "suite" but the only way one would consider the room a suite is if they were used to indoor plumbing - it's that bad. Stains everywhere, ripped furniture, smelled of stale smoke, and we were careful to touch NOTHING if we could avoid it. The couch in the alleged suits had an a tire arm of the pleather ripped off - see photos - and it was so disgusting I wish we had even gotten a Motel 6 room. That bad. Even though we forgave the hiccup with the phone call and hearing "bastards!" Randomly - there is NO excuse to place a customer in a room this filthy.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon for a weekend stay. Immediately we were nervous. The hotel looked nothing like what the photos on the website showed. The pool was closed and covered. The front of the building looked like it hadn't been cleaned or painted in years. Construction materials were stacked everywhere. Inside the lobby, the chaos was the same. Boxes everywhere. Kind of dusty and grimy. But we figured maybe new owners had taken over and were renovating the place. So we checked in. Got to the room (on the 2nd floor, because all the first floor rooms were under renovation/construction). Opened the door. It stunk of cigarette smoke. The comfortor had holes in it. The toilet didn't work. Called the desk, they moved us from room 219 to room 221. A/C barely worked, mold around the shower, grout missing in bathroom, minifridge door didn't shut properly. Room smelled of mildew. Comforter had holes in it. None of the rooms had the table or chairs advertised in the pics. In the morning, we decided we couldn't spend another night in the room. Went to the lobby. The assistant manager was on the sofa, shoes off, eating some food and reading on her phone. CHecked out and then decided to check out the 'breakfast buffet.' 2 pre-packaged muffins, 4 bananas, some corn flakes, a couple of oranges, and coffee that smelled like it had brewed for 6 hours. We didn't stick around after that. The hotel is pretty much a disgrace to the Days Inn brand, and we've stayed in Days Inn hotels all over the country. Now I am fighting with them to get the 2nd night refunded because they said Expedia has to approve it, Expedia said they did approve it and the hotel has to refund the money. Getting ready to dispute the charge on the credit card.

My bed had several room firm pillows, and the room had ample electrical outlets, always a bonus when I have to plug in the devices I have with me when I travel. HDTV worked well, and had a good choice of channels. Free wifi also worked well. Only negative comment is that the room furnishings were pretty dinged up and could use some maintenance.

The breakfast was terrible. The muffins looked like they were a single pack out of a little Debbie's box on top of looked old as hell and god only knew how long they had been sitting there.and bowls and plates but no eating utensils. The juice machine was out of order. Had cereal but no milk and the worker sat there and watched us make a bowl and failed to mention to us that they had no milk after we sat there waiting for them to come back out with it for almost 7 minutes. The waffles mix wasn't made how it should of been and disgusting. The workers attitudes are absolutely disgusting and disrespectful as could be. So we had to leave the property to get food since we couldn't have the hotels breakfast and when we left the property the house keepers went into our room without us asking for them to and took our personal towels we bought from the store ourselves and brought with us and took every single one of them thinking they were the hotels towels. Mind you the towels they took of ours were inside our bags and on and the hotels towels we used were in the corner on the floor. Only similarities of the towels are that they're white. But clearly design of the two sets is different and they had took them out of our belongings so they know the difference and knew what they were doing after the fact they entered our room without us even asking them too do to begin with. We booked our stay through choice hotels and we had left at 9am on check out date and we returned the room key to the front desk worker before we left. We contacted choice hotels to make a complaint about our stay we had. Choice had to contact the property about the system saying that we were still checked in and not checked out and front desk woman went on and told choice that they didn't have our returned room key. choice hotels contacted us saying that econo lodge was saying they didn't have our key so we called the hotel and the woman and her absolute lack of respect and how rude she was being is mind blowing. She had a major major rude disgusting attitude too. She was lying on what choice hotels said to her when they had to contacted them about the not being checked out yet in their system issue we were having on top of just everything else. All the staff were nice though including the cleaning ladies who probably don't get paid enough to actually clean. This one kid working nights at the front desk said he didnt have any change for the laundry. I had to go to two stores to make change. I come back to ask him where the laundry room is. He said second floor. I went there and both the industrial doors were locked i guess because of night time. I'm thinking wrong floor so i go to the first floor. The industrial door was locked also. This kid who has the easiest job in the world just sitting behind a desk watching TV in the lobby didn't even know or have the common decency to inform me that the laundry room was closed when he knew that's where I was headed. It's 9 at night. The main problem is the owners have let this place go. Everything is falling apart. I can understand they probably don't get much business because it's pretty much empty here but you can't charge $55 for nothing.
