I came here to say we were placed in room number 105. But that room needed help. So my husband went back to the check in and this wonderful sweet front desk lady named Buhmi helped us. She (without questions) insisted she offer us a different room on the same floor for the same price that was perfect. Sometimes things happen but it's how you and they handle indifferences. I book rooms for construction employees at several hotels across Kansas each week. I booked a room here online with a decent rate for four nights. The employees I booked the room for did not show up the first night. I called the hotel the next morning and explained that we still want the room for the rest of the reservation. The front desk told me no problem, and they even wouldn't charge me for the first night. Super I thought! I ended up extending their stay, and they were at the hotel for 11 nights. When we received the final bill after checkout, the nightly charge was $20 more than the rate I had booked online. I called the hotel and spoke to Xavier. He told me that the original reservation was automatically canceled when they didn't show up the first night. He said they had to re-book us at their standard rate, which is much higher than the online rate. I understand the policy and why they did that, but I tried to explain to Xavier that it wasn't explained that way to me when I called and spoke to the front desk the first morning. This is where things got really weird. Each time I would try to explain that to Xavier, he would start talking over me, dead-pan repeating the same statement he had already made about not being able to match the online rate. I would try to speak up a little bit, and he would repeat the same line louder, over and over, purposefully doing it to not allow me to speak. It sure seemed to me like he was purposefully doing this to agitate me. It got to a point where I was having to yell, "please sir, will you stop speaking for a moment and just let me respond", to which he continued speaking louder and seemed as if he was enjoying the fact that I was upset with him. At a point where I was able to finally get a sentence in, I began to tell Xavier that, while I book employees weekly at Choice Hotels across the state of Kansas, I've never been treated by a Choice Hotels employee the way that he was treating me on this phone call. He responded with, "well you're no longer welcome at this hotel". I am not the type of person to raise my voice, let alone yell, however, I've never been treated like this with a customer service professional before. I would definitely steer clear of this hotel if you have to deal with the management in any way. read more

Needed a place to stay for a long road trip to Alabama from Denver. This was the nicest Room! The carpet wasn't sticky and the bed was Devine! I know I was tired but I didn't even need to fluff my pillow or fight with the blankets to make the perfect nest. The room was pleasantly sectioned off into bed area couch area and bath. The breakfast had a nice assortment of hot and cold food. This was like the Marriott Courtyards but with free food! read more

We were traveling from Denver to Columbus and needed a room for 1 night. We were traveling without reservations and stopped at a location along I-70 that had 1 over-priced room remaining. We then ventured down I-The hotel was very clean and is obviously well maintained. The room was comfortable and reasonably quiet considering the hotel's location adjacent to the interstate. The young lady at the front desk was very pleasant, helpful and very efficient. The room rate for our room (less than $100) was very reasonable and more competitive than most of the comparable competitor locations. The downsides -- the desk chair in the room had seen better days - it was in pretty rough shape and was not overly comfortable. The room itself was very clean, including the bathroom, but the refrigerator had a terrible odor when you opened the door. Fortunately, all we needed to refrigerate was a couple of bottles of pop which means we opened it once to put stuff in and again the next morning to take stuff out -- helped to mitigate the nasty odor. read more

Staff is amazing! James at the front desk was so helpful and personable. We were in town for a softball tournament and ended up staying an extra night. When we got back to the hotel after the tournament he had the cot and extra blankets we had requested the night before already in our room for us. If I could give them a negative number I would. This place was awful. The TV and phone did not work when we checked in. The maintenance person came up but could not fix the TV (issue with remote). He said we could get up and change the channel on the TV really. He said we could change rooms my husband asked if he could change the TV from the other room which he did. He brought up a battery for the phone and said it would take a bit for it to be fully charged. We went out for dinner and when we returned the remote did not work again and also the phone was not charged. After the front desk clerk tried to fix the TV she said she would move us to another room this happened around 9pm. We went to another room and the AC was not working. By this time we have had enough with this place and the attitudes. We got another hotel in town at around 10pm. We will never stay in another Comfort product. read more

Super nice welcoming front desk agent. Very friendly and eager to accommodate. My room was large and very well appointed. Had everything you could possibly need for an over night stay. My only negative about the room, is that housekeeping didn't clean the prior guest's items out of the refrigerator. Everything else about the room was terrific. They have a very nice small pool with the temp about 82, comfortable after you are in a for a minute. They also have a nice sauna in the pool area, but they do not have a hot tub. The pool area needs a little TLC attention. When you are in the pool you can see all the cob webs under the lounge chairs, likely not noticeable from standing on the deck. The breakfast is pretty much your standard free hotel breakfast. Waffles and orange juice. Could have had more juice and fruit choice for the healthier eaters. I would definitely stay here again when traveling in the area. The friendly staff here makes the difference between staying here or at any of the nearby alternatives. read more

Obviously needed a place to stay, walk in at 1am get my key to go to my room. The room was filthy and there was trash from the previous person that stayed over. Walk down stairs to get my room switched and the gentleman was very nice and apologized for the inconvenience, finally get settled in and decided to take a shower... well the shower head wasn't pushing water so my shower sucked. I know this might seem like nothing but I traveled for the past 16 hours and paid for a perfectly good room and I didn't get that and the power outlets weren't working so I didn't charge my phone overnight. Comfy beds but other than that...NEVER AGAIN. read more

After having some terrible experiences with Choice Hotels in other cities... This one in Salina, Kansas was refreshing for its mediocrity. It was clean... That means a lot... But other amenities were just average including breakfast... Sour waffle mix... And serious lack of managing the breakfast area... (It was filthy). Comfort Suites right off of highway I-35 on Schilling Road is such a convenient stop over for us when we travel between Colorado and Texas. The front desk clerk is always friendly regardless of the late hour of our arrival. Our rooms are always clean and smoke free. The breakfast is what you expect from any hotel post-covid. Pre-covid the breakfast was always fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this destination. read more

Great place to stay in Salina. The property is clean, and conveniently located. Check in was quick and easy. The room was big and clean. WiFi worked flawlessly. The pool and sauna were kept up as was the fitness center. The breakfast is the morning was great. Hot foods such as waffles, eggs, tater tots, bacon, sausage and biscuits as well as the standard bagels, fruits and yogurt. USA Today was available in the lobby every morning. The staff was professional and friendly. I was able to print my boarding passes from the business center with no problem. This hotel is within walking distance of a convenience store (in the same parking lot) as well as a Wal Mart. I will stay there again next time I'm in Salina. read more

I have stayed at this location many times but never again. Very Shady practice. The middle of May I make reservations through Choice Hotels for a 1 night stay. After driving 2 hours I pull up and notice there are no cars in the parking lot and thought that was strange. I pull up to the door to be informed due to Covid19 they are closed but more than welcome to come to another property they own(Best Western) and they would honor the price. I called Choice back and they would not give me a refund because they had to call and check with manager first.( Not sure what she did not understand that the hotel was closed). I am not a fan of Best Western so I made another reservation at a different Choice property and was able to get in. Plus the host was able to call and get them to cancel so I could get a refund. read more

I was really hopeful that this hotel would be good since the reviews were positive, but this might be the one of the best Choice hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms were clean, the amenities were good, and the service was excellent. On top of all of this, I got a great price: A suite with two queen beds was only $90/night and $103 with tax for the AARP rate (My mom was with me). My mom and I arrived around 6:00 PM on a Monday night, and we quickly found a parking spot near the front. When we walked in the door, we were greeted by a friendly front desk man, and there was iced tea and lemonade to drink upon arrival! We made it up to our room, which was at the end of the second floor. The room was large and spotless, and the temperature nice and cool, despite being 102 degrees Fahrenheit outside. The room looked like a standard Comfort Suites, but it did come with one of those nice shower heads with multiple settings. We tested out the pool, which was very small but clean. There was also a sauna, but it didn't really appeal to me. After that, we enjoyed scanning through at least 100 tv channels and charging up our devices easily. This might seem like basic things, but it is so rare for everything to work in many hotels. We were quite surprised by the breakfast in the morning, which actually looked delicious. I made myself a sausage, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich, and I also enjoyed an apple danish. There was also sausage gravy, biscuits, waffles, fruit, multiple brands of yogurt (including Chobani!), a large variety of nice cereals, breads, and danishes. There were probably a few other things too, but it was a really nice breakfast. The counter was very well-stocked. I just cannot say enough good things about this hotel. On this trip, I stayed in a Cambria the following night. It was a big step below this hotel, and my mom and I kept talking about how we wished we were at this Comfort Suites again. If you are driving on I-70, don't let the few extra miles off the interstate stop you from staying here. It's the best Choice hotel to stop at in Kansas! read more

My initial thought was that $110 a night for a 1 king bed room was outrageous for being in BFE nowhere. I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, this hotel must be fairly new and is extremely well kept and well staffed. The free breakfast both mornings was substantial and tasty for being stuff from a bag/freezer (kudos to the chef). The counter attendant was friendly and gave us our complimentary cookies. The only thing that kept it from being a 5 star experience was that the check out took FOREVER. They'd been having issues with their POS terminal and it declined my card twice until it was entered manually at which point it was accepted. Then it took forever to print a receipt (I'm a receipt nazi). But all in all, a good stay with a clean room, comfortable bed, and a decent price. read more

Very nice and clean hotel. We stayed here for 4 nights and the accommodations were great. Nice breakfast in the morning including eggs, bacon, cereal, bagels and Danishes plus coffee and juice. Beds were comfortable and the hotel staff were all nice and helpful. If you are staying in Salina, I definitely recommend staying here. We didn't try the pool because it was closed for maintenance. They also have a nice fitness room with a treadmill, bike and weight maching. read more

This hotel is older and large. We stayed for one night. Our room was spacious and nice for an older hotel. The pool looked green so we didn't swim. The breakfast was plain nasty. The food tasted like it was days old and reheated. The staff was decent, although when we tried to check out, all 5 staff members were outside smoking. I walked out and told them that I left my key on the counter and left. I would look for another place to stay in Salina. read more

I recently stayed at the hotel and had an awful experience. We were headed out for the day and placed a "Do Not Disturb" sign on our room door. When we returned, room service had entered and cleaned the room. I checked my purse and had found I was missing a $100 bill. When I went to report this to the front desk, the man barely looked at me and did not write a single thing down. He was more preoccupied with the basketball game he had playing on the hotel lobby TV. I was told there was no one else to speak to at the hotel regarding this issue. He also said the man who cleaned our room was gone for the day, but would be back the following day and would be spoken to regarding this. The following day, we attempted to speak to the front desk regarding my stolen money and there was no one there to help us. We had to leave, as we had an 8 hour drive home and had to get on the road. I called the customer service number for the hotels a few days ago and was told I would hear back from the manager of the hotel within 72 hours. That 72 hours is since up and I have yet to hear anything back about this. To top things off, I received a phone call from my credit card company informing me there had been recent fraudulent activity on my card; someone had attempted to charge over $200 at an online children's clothing store. So, I have now had to start the process of cancelling all my cards, as well. I would NEVER RECOMEND someone stay at this hotel considering the complete disregard the establishment has for patron's stolen property and complete lack of attempt to rectify the situation. read more
