Ya soooo first and foremost, after a long day of driving all the way from Indy. We get to the room, change into our pajamas and what do I find but a BIG ass stain on my comforter! Like this is not some itty bitty stain you could hide from somebody, but even then WHY WOUKD YOU TRY AND HIDE IT?! You are a HOTEL!! So I obviously call down, they have no other comforters. ya only other option is to move up to a different room. Pfftt then the NEXT person would still have to deal with that. DO NOT stay here. I called ahead to make sure the hot tub worked bc based on past experience at comfort inns those that list hot tub or jacuzzi with a pool often are out of order when you arrive I have back issues and drove 10 hours and wanted to use it. They said absolutely. So I booked a non smoking king whirlpool tub room suite through choice hotels reservations and paid for it with a credit card and got a confirmation by email of the reservation. I arrive at the hotel they say I need to run my credit card again and then after I check and go to my room it is a standard queen bed room not what I paid for and reserved and it smells like smoke I don't smoke and the room has a card that says a fee will be charged if you smoke in room. After going to front desk they said sorry we are out of those rooms and said they would not credit me for the difference in price for the two rooms. I also told them about the smoke smell and that I don't smoke. They said I would need to speak with the manager tomorrow. I then went to the pool room to use the hot tub and it was ice cold. This hotel gets 2 stars as a start because it didn't burn to the ground as I slept or give me a bed bug souvenir. Unfortunately, the quality of my experience failed to rise far beyond that dismal starting point. When I arrived, the courteous fellow working the desk directed us to our room. After 10 hours on the road I was looking forward to a clean and pleasant hotel accommodation. Unfortunately such a condition did not exist in said room. The bathroom was gross. Hair on the floor. Hair in the shower. Hair on the back of the toilet. A contact lens in the middle of the floor. The tub had 3 inches of water in it and continued to drip. The walls were gross and there was some sort of wet stain on the couch.... I reported the matter to the front desk and requested that the room be cleaned. Nope. Instead I had to move since they employ no one capable of providing such a remedy in the evenings. But hey.. The new room gave me an AWESOME view of the dumpster (see below). The next morning I was billed for the full amount despite the previous evening's experience. I contacted the desk and explained that I expected some adjustment on the bill. I was told that of course they would do that and that the manager would call me. That was 4 days ago and I have received no call back nor billing adjustment. All around abysmal experience- Dirty room- Dirty hallways- Dirty elevator- No effort by staff to make it right. read more

All in all, a solid three stars. As expected, this is a busy hotel given its proximity to the highway. This could lead to a loud environment but we found our room to be pretty quiet. The rooms are clean and modern. They serve a free continental breakfast which doesn't offer the variety that many other hotels do, and..you better get down there EARLY if you want anything. Since this hotel packs the house, the masses are like vultures for the free food. Workers replenish some of it, but all of the items. My only real complaint about this hotel is they charged me twice for my one-night stay. I called to get this corrected, which they happily did quickly. Would I stay here again?....maybe. I'd probably opt to spend a few bucks more for another hotel chain that I liked better. Cheers. read more

Thank you front desk for being so accommodating. We were going to check in early and they said it would be fine and just call that morning.. we ended up being so dead tired and napped at the bf's cousin's place in Atlanta, that we showed up right at check in time after all. Our room was ready, and clean. The next day (after attending a wedding) we were running late getting out of bed, called the front desk asking if we could check out 15-20 minutes late, they gave us a full hour (just told us to let housekeeping know they said it was okay, in case they came by). We found this hotel by accident. We had planned to stay in Macon, but missed our exit. Luckily, we pulled off at Byron, got gas, and saw a few hotels all clumped together. I thought this hotel looked the best from the outside, so we gave it a shot. The receptionist was professional and friendly. She even pointed out all of the restaurants in the area. We got a reduced rate, $87. The room was nice, no strange smells, and the beds were firm, but comfortable. Each bed had 4 pillows. Two were a little firmer so you can have a choice. I'm a bit of a pillow snob, and I was pleased. I usually bring my own pillow to hotels, but was happy with the hotel's. My wife and I brought our two kids and since they don't like to sleep in the same bed, we pulled out the sofa bed for our youngest. The sofa bed was convenient and was ok for our small child, but it would be too uncomfortable for me. I could feel the springs and it was really lumpy. I suppose a comfortable sofa bed might be an unrealistic expectation. The hotel has free wifi as well as some sort of free, light breakfast. I had download speeds at night about 3 Mbps, but by morning it had slowed down considerably. I can't tell you about the food because we had Cracker Barrel on our minds all night after passing so many as we drove south on I-75. Overall, I recommend the hotel. We woke up refreshed and ready to finish our drive to Florida. read more

For a small town we made a great choice. The lady at the front desk was polite and courteous. The room is spacious and decor is up to date. I love that it's smoke free. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. There's a great little store to pick up essentials; we needed visine and they had it! Hey!!!! They serve full breakfast from 6-9am. There's a small gym-but it is great that there is one. Also a pool. The lobby is neat and inviting. The night before, we had stayed in a very disappointing hotel and got little sleep so we were pretty exhausted by the time we arrived at this hotel. Fortunately, this Comfort Suites was very clean, quiet and comfortable and we got a great night's sleep. The breakfast was good and the hotel staff was very friendly. Three stars is being generous for this rat trap. Perhaps the other folks who ranked this place five stars haven't stayed at a decent hotel before. The room is a decent size. It was advertised as having a sofa bed with a partition...not so much in our room. Also advertised a jacuzzi tub which was just a standard bath tub. The shower curtains had brown and green stains on it and the bed sheets were torn and stained. Was easier to just sleep on top of the comforter and use our own blankets. We were told there were no more rooms available so we couldn't switch. The room was overly average for a two and a half star hotel. The bed was also as bouncy as a trampoline. Whatever. Maybe I'm just being a negative Nancy because I've been driving for the last ten hours but the typical comforts of a hotel just don't seem/feel present. read more

Decent hotel. Need somewhere to stay the night on a road trip. There are 5 of us and there is a 6'3, 210 pound football player so we needed to find a room big enough for all of us. We got a room with 2 double beds and a pull out coach. Beds were super comfy and had lots of pillows. The pull out was not so nice. The springs really dug into your back and made it hard to sleep. We highly recommend this one! This is our 5th trip across the u.s. and we have stayed in so many poor examples of quality all within this group. But this facility was very, very nice. Seems to be newer so the amenities are more up to date; granite in the bathroom, new furniture, clean carpet. The breakfast was the same as all others. I do wish they would change it a bit from day to day. I have had scrambled eggs and sausage offered for the last 5 days in 5 different quality inn locations. Other wise no complaints. read more
