Dried semen on my sheet

I would not recommend this place at all! The room in general looked like it was dirty, walls chipped, mold in the bathroom, stained carpet. BUT, when crawling into bed.... the worst of all. I pulled the sheets up on my chest and when I looked down a brown stain. So I decided to check all the sheets, what did I find? It looked like someone had rented to room for an hour and there was what looked like dried SEMEN on the bottom of the bed sheet right where my feet would land... I was mortified. The did bring clean sheets to me and my mom, but we had to change the beds myself! When talking to the front desk she seemed nice but also only said "I will make a note about this"

Urine in the floor next to the toilet, find this by stepping in it and it was sticky, smelled awful.

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this nightmare place. Eighty percent of the staff were rude and confrontational if you had any issues. My first issue was a blood spray from IV drug use that had dried into my already filthy sheers on the window. Maintenance came and took them down and just never brought them back. I had pitch dark or blaring sun. The front desk screwed up my reservations. Staff told me I had to leave on a Saturday night, I made a reservation right after they told me. (Keep in mind that this is in the middle of a long stay. I'm remodeling a house I just bought and I need to be in town.) I was awakened the next morning by loud, rude front desk staff telling me that I had to leave on Friday. Packed my things and argued with staff, they stood and lied to my face and housekeeping laughed because I asked for the managers email. This place has no standards of quality in accommodations or the people they hire. I left the hotel for the night. My son still had reservations as did I so I went back the next day as it was already paid through a third party. Checked back in, called down to the desk for an extra blanket, was told someone would bring one, they never came. The air conditioner had to be on consistently because the ventilation was so bad. I have a blood disorder associated with anemia so I was cold and needed that blanket. EVERY day I had to get my key renewed. The next day I was at the front desk and they told me they had a blanket for me, it was a bed spread. There was no bedspread on the bed when I got into the room just a comforter and the room was not clean. The bedspread is essentially a thick sheet, went to Meijer and bought my own blanket. Stayed in that room for three days. Asked to change rooms and was told I could do so, repacked all of my things and went to the front desk. I was told that they didn't have any clean rooms and that I would have to wait until the next day. Went to the front desk the following morning and was given a key to another room. Immediately upon entering the room the smell of dog and urine were so strong it made me gag. I called down to the front desk AGAIN and was told once again that they would leave a note for the morning staff, issue was never addressed and staff told me that there was no way there was a dog in the room. I have allergies to dogs so there was no doubt. I was congested, my eyes were affected and I had asthma symptoms. I am exhausted by this point, getting nowhere and just tried to make the best of it. The bathroom was disgusting, there was dried urine on the floor next to the toilet and something I couldn't even stomach trying to figure out. The internet stopped working, the television worked sometimes but was often pixelated and impossible to watch. I use a computer for work, email etc, they told me to go to a website to fix it, I tried several times and was directed to a page that sold internet. I used my phone data to do anything internet related. I finally couldn't stand it any more and made a reservation at the BEST WESTERN ON water street. The night before I was checking out they offered to reconnect my internet. By this point I had already filed a complaint with the company and was just ready to leave. Lastly, instead of running my card once for the room charges they ran my card EIGHT consecutive times, triggered my fraud protection and deactivated my bank card. I am a Platinum member with CHOICE HOTELS, I have spent A LOT of money and am usually completely satisfied. I have stayed at locations across the country for extended period of time and NEVER have I experienced such a disgusting environment. Grass and insects in the indoor hot tub, back and side doors left unlocked all night, people partying in the parking lots, breaking glass, terrible, stale breakfast offerings, just generally dirty and the absolute worst staff I have EVER encountered. I have friends and family that work in all areas of the service industry so being nice is important to me but this place was beyond the limits of what anyone should pay for. If the Choice brand is smart, they will drop this location, it's bad news. If you want to stay in a drug infested, filthy, bad smelling hotel with rude, inconsiderate staff this is the place. I would sleep in my car before I EVER stayed in this dump again. STAY AWAY.

Mold I also have videos but won't let me load them! Which they show much more.

But unfortunately I do have a lot of cons so bear with me. When we arrived the bed looked as though it had been slept in. There were stains on the carpet, hand smudges on the glass , stains on the sofa, mold in the shower, cracks in the ceiling, and warped wallpaper in multiple spaces. I say this as someone who can often over look things however, when I pulled out the sofa bed to sleep there was just a mattress protector and a large yellow stain. I check the closet to find one pillow with no cover on it. We went down stairs and the manager was shocked. She provided us with ample supplies like linens, and a blanket. I have to say for the price payed the condition we're pretty bad. I'm assuming you may for the location as it's 6 minutes from down town but this rooms need a upgrade. And a deep carpet and upholstery cleaning.

One bad apple can ruin things just like that. Hit down to breakfast at 930 and 2 out of 4 hot items were empty. I asked the young lady if she was making more. No, not really was her response. I politely said it's 9:30 and you are open to 10. If " I really need to I will". I responded I guess my husband and I don't need to eat. As she huffed. So I grabbed small portion of eggs and cooked a bagel as my husband had nothing. Apparently she decided to cook more, but not until we were getting up! Shame, Shame!!

Under the guise of I will be closer to the dog walk area, I was placed on the first floor next to the back door. Not an issue, until I walked into the room. No real carpet, just and inside/outside floor covering. No padding, just glued directly to the concrete. The furniture was out of a garage sale, beat up and unkept. Sheet on the bed were old and worn. So old the elastic on the fitted sheet no longer gripped the matress. I never leave a bad review. I there is nothing nice to say i leave it alone. But the manager on duty continually lied on the idea I was put into a dog room. Said there was no such thing. I asked why no carpet, she replied that there must of been a maintenence issue that was unresolved. I told her I checked the room next to me during cleaning and it was the same. A dog room. Just outside my room there was carpet with padding, but not in mine. I paid for a king bed, was given a queen. I guess that is what dog rooms get. Now there was an area for my pup to do her business, but no grass, all lava rock. I invited the manager to walk on it barefooted, because my pup was. It is jagged and unsafe for pets. While this facility is pet friendly, be prepared to stay in a dog room. Not the room you reserved online. felt like i was punished for bringing my pup, and paid for that punishment.

Ah yes, the Flamingo Motel, where do I start? It was probably one of the two least desirable…read moreplaces I stayed at on my Michigan trip but I wouldn't know that till after I made my circuit. I do love the little 1950's and 60's motels and have encountered a wealth of those that have been reconditioned and renovated yet charge a nightly rate less than the Flamingo. Starting with the good, the clerk was very nice. She only takes cash, not set up for credit cards she said. I can find no receipt for the place so I assume she didn't give me one and I just didn't notice. Fortunately I had enough cash on me. Due to road construction in the area it had been an ordeal to find this place in the dark and I didn't want to go looking for another. My first impression of the room was that it was darling and quaint with a pretty bedspread. My second impression was that there was a very strong, very old, unpleasant smoke smell permeated into every pore of the room, the kind that gets into your hair, clothes and belongings the minute they touch anything. Then, over the course of the evening, night and morning more problems became evident. There was a large stain on the carpet near the frig that I stepped on with bare feet later and found it to be saturated wet and cold. I don't know if there was a leak from the recent heavy rains or from the fridge. I laid a paper over it just to remind me not to step on it again. When I went looking for a plug to recharge my phone there was a definite shortage of them and I discovered the lamp cord plugs looked like they were from the 1930's. See my pix if you think I'm exaggerating. I unplugged one lamp after seeing the cord was nearly split in two and looked like a shock hazard, as well as a fire hazard. That freed up a plug for my phone, though not conveniently close to the bed so I could use it while charging. The bathroom trash was sitting under the sink, making me wonder if there was a leak being captured. The tub had serious stains but I don't know if it was unclean it maybe just had paint spills in it. I didn't use it. The sink and toilet worked good and the room had a fridge, which I used. The security chain on the door was busted and unusable. The toilet seat was full of splinters, not where they easily would get on your toosh, but dangerously close. If every older motel was like this I would just figure that's the way older motels are. But all save one of the other older motels I stayed at were way nicer than this. And many were only $32-35/night. So do I recommend this place? Sadly, not particularly.
