I travel with my pup everywhere. I never care about any pup fee. But paying the 75 dollar fee this time meant I was downgraded to basically a human kennel. Under the guise of I will be closer to the dog walk area, I was placed on the first floor next to the back door. Not an issue, until I walked into the room. No real carpet, just and inside/outside floor covering. No padding, just glued directly to the concrete. The furniture was out of a garage sale, beat up and unkept. Sheet on the bed were old and worn. So old the elastic on the fitted sheet no longer gripped the matress. I never leave a bad review. I there is nothing nice to say i leave it alone. But the manager on duty continually lied on the idea I was put into a dog room. Said there was no such thing. I asked why no carpet, she replied that there must of been a maintenence issue that was unresolved. I told her I checked the room next to me during cleaning and it was the same. A dog room. Just outside my room there was carpet with padding, but not in mine. I paid for a king bed, was given a queen. I guess that is what dog rooms get. Now there was an area for my pup to do her business, but no grass, all lava rock. I invited the manager to walk on it barefooted, because my pup was. It is jagged and unsafe for pets. While this facility is pet friendly, be prepared to stay in a dog room. Not the room you reserved online. felt like i was punished for bringing my pup, and paid for that punishment. read more

We've been staying here for years for a family reunion. It's been going downhill. We were there for 3 nights this time and had to switch rooms every night because something was broken/wrong with the room. The first night the room was smoked, cigarette smell and not clean. Hair dryer was molding. Second night in another room because of the first night, third night the AC unit broke and smelled like something was burning and put the room to 80 degrees. Other people in our party had to switch bc their keys weren't working and got locked out of room because the battery died. Staff are extremely nice, but for the price, not worth it. Had to pay full price for all of the rooms despite being inconvenienced by switching. read more

The staff was very nice and accommodating. Disappointed that the hot tub was not working and the pool area was cold and water could have been warmer, but area was clean. The rooms were clean but had an odd smell, maybe a new type cleaner? Contential breakfast was very nice having hot food (eggs, potatoes & meat and make your own waffles) and the staff was friendly, quick to help and cleaning. Major problem is NOISE; walls are paper thin and you can HEAR EVERYTHING; kids running up and down hallway, banging, slamming doors, cell phones, TV and talking. Rooms were average, small no sofa available in any of their rooms. We stayed thtee days and hotel informed us they do not service the rooms at all And they were not polite about it. Set your towels and trash outside and come to front desk for supplies. They raised their price every night we were there we stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday had planned to stay two more days but moved to another hotel. We are on a long trip and no other hotels did this, other Hilton's did ask us if we would like our room serviced and we said yes and were provided this service. Part of the cost of the room includes daily maid service, very disappointed with this policy. read more

The positives include the following: clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice pool area, nice choices of breakfast foods in the morning, friendly and helpful staff. The one thing we did not like about this hotel is that the walls are so thin you can hear everything! The people above us sounded like they were stomping and pacing back and forth all night. We stayed here for the Silver Sticks hockey tournament. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and kids loved the vending machines. Breakfast area was decent and a great place to chill after games in the evenings with pizza and games. Pool area is a tad small but kids loved it. Overall great stay. read more

Spent a night here twice. Both times I was driving from St. Louis to Toronto. Both times I checked in between 3-5 am after being on the road for 8-9 hrs. Both times I did not book a reservation (I guess being a diamond member helps out). Both times I was very satisfied. Free wifi (even though at 3 am and 8 hrs of driving, all I want to do is crash). Clean and comfortable bed. Nice hot shower. Nice clean bathroom. Friendly staff. Nice and quiet. What more can you ask for. The breakfast buffet has a smaller selection than what other Hampton Inn's have but it still serves its purpose. They even leave the muffins and bagels out after the buffet is over. As evident by me waking up at 11 to get back on the road and able to get a bagel before I crossed the border. Oh. Both times my room cost close to $100. read more

It was ok. If you're on a budget and looking for a decent hotel at a decent price - then this fits the bill. The entryway/reception: - Nice / bright / clean. - I didn't have any interaction with any of the employees so i cannot speak to the service. The room was ok: - The carpets always seemed damp - so it was kinda gross to walk on. i basically always made sure to wear flip flops, since i had no idea why it felt that way. - The AC didn't seem to work right. It was super hot in the room, so kicked on the AC. had it at 69 and it was still roasting, so we left it on 64 all night long and i know it was NOT 64 in that room..... so i'm assuming there was something wrong with thermostat. But we eventually got it to a decent temp. - TV was nice and big! thank u! Bathroom was nice and clean - Downside to bathroom was that there's a huge counter, and it's tall. Being a chick, i need to put makeup on. There was really no good way for me to do my eye makeup because i couldn't lean in to see myself in the mirror - that counter was too high and big. And the hall was way too dar to be able to see in the closet mirror. I had to kinda wing it. - Beds were fairly comfy. Linens were comfortable - Pillows were crap. They all squished down to nothing once you laid your head on it. - Lots of plugs for all the electronics Amenities: - Jacuzzi was TINY. Max people = 4. BUT hey, better than NO jacuzzi. So i'll take it. - Pool was freezing cold. wouldn't touch it. - Breakfast was limited. not as much as other hotels. But again, something is better than nothing. - Free (slow) WiFi - HUGE downside. There was like 3 different groups of SUPER obnoxious hockey players and their families. These were all KIDS. Like 8-12. They were literally playing hockey IN THE HALLS and running up and down, screaming, and bouncing the ball off the wall/doors until 11pm. And up again at like 8am waking everyone up. And the hotel DID NOTHING. Not cool. I was dealing with a time-zone difference, and would've slept till 10 had it not been for all the rude brats and their absentee parents. Oh that's right, the parents were getting wasted in the lobby till 2am, so they're probably the ones who kicked the kids out into the hall so everyone else could watch their kids FOR them. Yeah. Port Huron Michigan. I really didn't know what I'd be getting when I arrived for a week's stay for business this week. Some of the more remote Hamptons can be a bit out-of-date, or less than the typical great Hilton branded service. Not this one. First of all, the staff (which I find pretty typical) was (and is) incredibly helpful - offering food recommendations, coupons, and even offering to make reservations for us if we desire. The rooms are clean and nice - nothing snazzy, certainly, but well-kept, good TVs, and of course, the Hampton beds, which I love. The only 'ding' I can really come up with is the fact that the WiFi is a bit slow (reminding me of when I go to my parents' house), but other than this, it is really a well-run facility. One other great thing: the local hospital rate (since I'm visiting the hospital) was about $50 less than the corporate rate that I found online. Less than $60/night for this stay, if you can believe that. Sure, it's not my money, but it's still cool nonetheless. There is a Fairfield Inn right next door, but why stay there when you can be here??? read more

This place is not ideal for anyone. Our room smells like a dead raccoon decided to smoke 150 marlboros on its way out leaving a smell so horrid I walked in instantly feeling lightheaded and having to grab the dusty ass cabinet before I fell over. No joke. We tried to relocate after returning from a wedding late night to no avail. My wife is sick now due to the disgusting smell. Thanks for nothing Hampton we won't be returning read more

I was really impressed with the facility here. Clean, spacious, well appointed. Microwaves and mini-fridges. Large, hot breakfast with real protein, not just a bunch of carbs. Fresh coffee. I didn't get my wakeup call, though, which is why it's not 5 stars. I hate getting a late start. read more

Wow! While I can't speak for the actual hotel rooms, we hosted a baby shower here in their conference room. The room was excellent, set perfectly to our specifications and definitely reasonably priced, but the really wonderful part was the staff. From the first phone call to the final check out, every single staff member we came in contact with bent over backwards to assist us, and did so with a smile. Seriously, when was the last time you stayed at a chain hotel and said the best thing about your stay was the awesome staff? We pass through Port Huron frequently on our journeys to the middle of nowhere Canada where my husband's family lives. We used to stay at the Hampton Inn before & after crossing the border. No more. Hotel options with 2 room suites are limited in the Port Huron area, so we started looking for adjoining rooms to give our family space. We decided to call to make reservations to ensure that our request was clear. They told us it would be no problem, but they offered a higher rate than online. We asked if we could still get adjoining rooms if we made our reservations online. They said, "Yes, just call us once the reservations are in the system." So, we made the non-refundable reservations online & called back to put in our request for adjoining rooms. Funny thing. Their tune suddenly changed. They had our money & now it was coincidentally impossible to accommodate us. We protested, & finally, a manager grudging told us such a promise should not have been made, but they would do their best to accommodate us. He told us call back a week before to remind them of our request. My husband called back a week before we were traveling. "Can't help you yet. Call back in a couple days." We kept calling back, as they told us, only to be rebuffed over & over. At one point, he said to them simply, "Look, we're just trying to be considerate here. If our rooms aren't together that means that we're likely going to disturb everyone around us. The 6 year-old will be running up & down the halls to visit her sister. Once she's asleep, if we need help with the baby, we'll have to carry her, screaming, down the hall to get that help because we don't want to leave the 6 year-old alone & she has the amazing ability to sleep right through the baby crying." They, of course, told us to call back later. We sighed & did as we were told. My husband made our final call the night before our trip. The morning of our trip, I was packing & the phone rang. The caller ID told me it was the hotel, so I answered, hoping they'd tell me that I could stop worrying about rooms across the hotel from each other. Nope. It was a manager calling to tell us that they were canceling our reservation due to "harassment & threats to their guests." How following their directions amounted to harassment, I don't know. And simply explaining the reality of the situation to them clearly wasn't a threat, but an attempt to impress upon them that fulfilling our request benefits them too. Still, I was told they wouldn't be honoring our request. I protested & the manager changed his story. He lied to me & told me that my husband had sworn at them & threatened them personally. I told him that was absolutely untrue. He smugly told me that he was sorry to alert me to the dark side of my husband. I replied with something like, "First, I have known my husband since we were children. I know his so-called dark side, thanks for your concern. You know what else I know about my husband? He's a very successful attorney, something he couldn't be if he were prone to losing his temper & threatening the people with whom he is negotiating or otherwise seeking concessions. There is no chance he did any of the things alleged, especially considering that I overheard the majority of conversations my husband had with people at your hotel. They were all very civil." He either ignored me, or didn't understand what I said to him & restated that he & his staff felt threatened. Probably because he was angry at me for calling him out on his bull, he added that he would call the police if we tried to enter the hotel. I scoffed & asked him what I was supposed to do when I'm leaving shortly. He told me that he had made a reservation at the hotel across the street. I asked him how he was going to refund me the difference in cost. He told me that the rates were the same. I told him they were not. The hotel across the street was $10 per night less, or $40 less total. (Like I said, we pass through a lot). He either didn't realize the difference, or thought the employee across the street would lie, because he smugly told me he'd prove it & called the hotel to inquire about their rates. He had them on speaker phone on another line, so I could faintly hear the conversation in the background. They confirmed the price difference. I adopted his own smug attitude and asked again what he'd do about the difference. He angrily told me he'd send me a check for $40. I said fine, but I was certain the money was gone. And, quelle surprise, it's been a couple years now & no check. I hate that they caused so much stress for us & turned a profit. But, I console myself by thinking about all the money this place has lost from us and our family. Hopefully, they'll lose a bit more now. read more

Horrible hotel!!!! front desk gave us wrong key, so we went to someone else's room... toilet had to be plunged twice.. finally left the plunger with us... no towels by the pool... and the refrigerator in the room didn't work at all... had to throw out all of our snacks... hotel did nothing to compensate us for our aggravation or inconvenience!!!! read more
