There's nothing quaint or cozy about this place. It's overpriced and in bad shape. The elevator and the halls are pretty beat up and dirty. In the first room, the blow dryer on the wall rattled, had old paint, and didn't work; the air conditioner didn't work properly and was hot all night; and the phone in the room didn't work. The shower in the bathroom leaked, flooding the bathroom. The staff is nice, but was unable to fix the room except by providing a blow dryer. When I came back to my room in the afternoon, they had not serviced the room even though I told them the bathroom flooded--Oh, guess what, they don't service the rooms unless you stay over three nights! They offered to move me and give me a one-night refund. FYI: at checkout, no refund, and when I called back, they offered 10% off the first night-- 2nd room was better. However, I was woken up in the early morning by a hotel fire alarm blasting loudly! Looking at reviews now, this has happened before, so obviously, they have an issue and have not rectified it. The faucet in this bathroom sprays back onto the counter, making a mess. Just seems that there is a lot of neglect in keeping this property up to par. Would not recommend this property. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. My wife booked this hotel for a parents weekend at the local university. The person who took our reservation made a mistake and booked us on the wrong day so when we got there we had no room. To make matters worse they changed us a no show fee. When we tried to get this fixed we were told we have to go through choice hotels. We called choice hotels, they did an investigation, they sent us an email admitting the person taking the reservation messed up, but to get a refund on our credit card we had to call the hotel directly. We presented the management with the email and he refused to give us a refund saying they made no mistake. read more

BED BUGS! My daughters were in bed on top of the bedding with their own blankets when one had a bug crawling on her...after a quick inspection she discovered there were several bugs on her and her sister and my husband found over 20 bugs just on the comforter of the bed. They quickly checked out at 11:30pm and bagged their personal items so they wouldn't track the bugs to the next hotel. The front desk staff gave them a refund and did not seem surprised when my husband confronted them about the infestation. DO NOT STAY HERE! Terrible. Not worth your time or money. Oh boy where do I start. Absolutely filthy room and bathroom, I have seen better from youth hostels in Central America. Towels come pre-soiled and stained and do not smell clean. The toilet bowl and shower floor are both stained the same shade of brown. Grime everywhere in the bathroom. Stains on bed spread and leaks/peeling paint on the ceiling and walls. Lumpy and saggy mattress. Clearly used Toilet plunger was conveniently located next to the stained toilet bowl. The sink was filthy. I never once took off my shoes off. Gross. Management needs to get a grip if they think they can charge 400+ Dollars a night for this absolute dump. I will never be staying here again, and I suggest you take your money elsewhere. read more

There was no one at the front desk to check is in - waited 10 minutes for someone to come to check in. Hotel is very worn and dated. There is water damage to ceiling of bathroom. The bathtub is dirty and the shower and faucet is leaking. The curtains are falling down and clipped together with a clothespin. Very disappointed. read more

Bate and switch: online post &241/night and final page small print boosts price to $369!! Filthy pillow cases smeared w makeup, bed sheets, washcloths, bathtub and sinks. Customers lined up to complain. Manager could care less. All complaints "go to owners--picture is in the wall." Some people were gouged $700/night!!!!! read more

Horrible place to stay. The ice machines are down, the elevators down, no water to drink, smells like smoke. The only reason why our family stayed was because all the rest of the places were booked. If that happens again we will and I suggest all others to drive to Cincinnati. read more

However the bed was nearly 4' in the air making it exceedingly difficult to get into. worse yet, the toilet is only about 2' high. advertised WI FI bit it didn't work. the person at the desk has English as a second language so he was hard to understand and couldn't help. would not recommend. read more

Average comfort inn pretty nice has door locking issues but it's not big. Just an average place. Staff is very friendly as well.

I don't like to give bad reviews but need to warn on this one. The staff was nice, friendly and didn't bat an eye when I asked to leave. So no complaints on them. But the floors were filthy, carpets had holes in, paint around door frame peeling and the toilet stained brown. Awful. I couldn't imagine waking barefoot anywhere. They showed me a 2nd room but even the elevator floor was covered in crumbs and dirt. I walked out and was lucky to find a room last minute at Hampton inn. Wonderful staff, clean rooms, paper thin walls. I paid $190/night because it was Miami move in day. After a stress filled day of moving my first born to college. I needed some sleep. Well, that did not happen. I had a lady next room was coughing, hacking and spitting all night long. It was the spitting that drove me over the edge. Well, maybe it was the nose blowing. Then she talked on the phone and it was NOT to a doctor to get cold medicine! If you are curious, she was encouraged someone to become a certified yoga instructor which was very sweet but not at 12 am. I could hear her like she was in the room with me. The hotel could not move me because they were sold out. They did not have ear plugs and I could not find any stores open near by that had any. I would have been better off sleeping in my car or in a van down by the river. The white noise on my phone did not help and the air conditioner would not stay on to drown out the spitting! So bring ear plugs! Night from hell! I want to cry! Ok, I cried. That did not help. Wait, it gets better. She is building furniture at 6:20 am! Update: I called the manager today and was given a refund. read more

So, because it is a busy weekend in Oxford I get paying over $229 a night. Supply and demand. But be prepared to deliver please. Phone doesn't work. Lamp didn't work. Shower door broken. Coffee maker disgusting dirty. NO service. I have to go downstairs to get a bottled water. They won't call a taxi for me. If I were paying $59 a night ....I would not expect more. Very friendly place to stay. good location and good breakfast. Looked like a nice pool but i did not use it. The halls are little wore out and needs some upgrades, but the rooms are roomy. My mom and I came up to visit Miami University for the first time and we booked this hotel in advance, so we weren't aware of the neighborhood it's in. The pictures online make the hotel, rooms, and neighborhood look awesome, so it was surprising to find out that they weren't. As soon as we walked into our room and set our stuff down, we walked right back out because of several factors. Firstly, the room smelled horrible, wallpaper peeling off the walls, bathroom and bedroom were dirty, and the bed was not comfortable. I only sat on the bed for a moment before my mom and I packed our stuff back up because of how gross our room was. Very disappointed with this hotel and we will not be returning. read more

If it all possible stay at another location in Oxford. This hotel is riddled with bed bugs. It is dirty, things don't work, many things are broke down and in need of repair. The management is ridiculous. It's known for them to overcharge, not to handle conflict, treats employees terribly and it's completely understaffed. They don't properly follow protocol for the hotel for their guests and especially for their employees. It's one of the worst places that my friends have stayed at and I've heard nothing but horror stories. read more

Low Quality Highway Robbery, at its' best. I made a reservation a few weeks in advance to visit my son at college on a non home game weekend. At a sticker price $269.00 for a Saturday night stay, I was hoping for a much better experience. Breakfast? I suppose... if that's what you call it. Great cold cereal selection guys! No eggs, no meat, nothing hot, unless you consider toast a hot meal. I'm no coffee snob either, but the pump carafe of dirty water you pass off as morning brew is horrid. Good thing you built next to Bob Evans. Save money on the pool and the gym nobody uses, and invest your money in better catering. On another note, The room was ok. Just ok. Do not stay here! The water was freezing, trash on the side of the bed. Also, I left something of value in the room, but I didn't realize it was gone until 2 days after I got home. I called the hotel and told the person right where I had left it. I was told it was not in the lost and found or in the room. I know it was my fault for leaving it there and I would have gladly paid to have it shipped to my home. My daughter was with me and she also remembers where I left it. read more

If I could give this place a 0 Stars I would. I drove here on Christmas, overnight, from Florida, while I was sick for my grandfather's funeral. My mother had this room ready for my son, daughter in law and I when I got here. I have found the cleaning staff and the front desk agents to be obnoxious, rude, and entitled and if this room wasn't already paid for I would have gone somewhere else TODAY! I will however, ensure that my mother, myself, my children, or any of my other MANY family members that actually do live here or visit here ever frequent this establishment again. I tried to take a picture of the elevator floor and upload it to the site to show you what I was talking about because I reported the mess almost 24 hours ago and it's still there. Also while I am not above plunging my own toilet or cleaning up my own mess, this is a hotel that is supposed to have a cleaning and maintenance staff so when my daughter in law stuffed a clump of tissue, toilet paper or whatever in the toilet from cleaning out her purse and it clogged the toilet I went downstairs and requested help and I was told that someone would bring me a plunger. When I just stood there she offered to send someone from the maid staff up to help me because I was sitting downstairs and I said thank you that was all I wanted. So, I'm sitting downstairs for an hour and after about a half an hour a staff of about four or five maids all wearing the same uniform wander into the lobby where I'm sitting watching the news and they were in The Breakfast area and they're making waffles and giggling in there laughing and that's GREAT! They're allowed to do that but when I go back upstairs and my daughter-in-law tells me that no one's been to fix the toilet yet I called the front desk and say this is room blah blah blah no one's been up to look at the toilet and she had the audacity to LIE to me and say 'well the maid staff just arrived. NO they DIDN'T because I was just sitting downstairs while they were all goofing around and playing for 20-30 minutes so no they didn't just get here!! So she says I'll send someone right up ....Here Comes This rude and obnoxious woman with glasses, I didn't get her name, knocks on the door and hands me a freaking plunger in a plastic bag and says here you go keep that in case you need it again and if that wasn't bad enough I have a stack of pizza boxes that I wanted to throw away not that I wanted them to throw away that I was going to walk to the garbage can and throw away myself and when I asked her if there was a garbage can somewhere in the hotel that I could take them to I was told no they would come around later with the cart and I said are you telling me there's no garbage can in this hotel that I can throw them away myself in? I don't want them sitting here. so they're all rude... they're all grouches and they're never getting my money or my family's money ever again. I have NEVER been treated this way ever! read more

Horrible experience. Arrived close to 7pm and sent to a room that was not ready. Instead of giving us a comparable double bed room, they "upgraded" to a suite with a king bed and pull out couch. I was stuck on the pull out couch. No extra sheets for the pull out bed. The TV didn't work without further obstruction. No vending machine on our floor and a broken ice machine. Wow. A lot of updates since my last visit! The hotel was renovated. The pool was great. This hotel has really upped it's game. The rooms were beautiful and so clean. Stayed at this location for four days in June and loved it. Front desk clerks friendly and helpful. Elevator to our room on the third floor. Room was large with two double beds. Beds very comfortable with four pillows each, two firm and two soft. Desk with chair, nice closet space, free wifi. Morning breakfast downstairs from 6-10 with good food. Biscuits, gravy, eggs, sausage(?) breads, bagels, Danish, three types of cereal, yogurts, fruits, and a waffle maker with plain and blueberry. Also juices, water, and coffee. Nice indoor pool with max 5ft depth good for swimming some laps. Small excercise room with a treadmill and a few other things. Laundry room available as well. Vending machines and ice machines on each floor. The only thing I would like is to have a refrigerator in the room. Overall very satisfied with our stay. Would stay again. read more
