Such sweet people! Easy access to rooms and good price! I lost my cat and the staff helped me look.

The inn keeper, the food and the rooms are all excellent. Lori (innkeeper) even call us to let us know we left some items there and she mailed to our home. we have been to many b and b's and this ranks up with the best

I cannot sing enough praises about Scott, Tari, and their beautiful home. I came to Oxford for a…read moreconference in November at Miami U. I'm a city girl, and I was wary of going to an unfamiliar and very rural area, but as soon as I stepped foot into the bed & breakfast, I felt immediately at home. The first night I got there, it was pouring rain and I couldn't see well. I parked in front of the house and Tari kindly told me I could leave the car there until the morning and she showed me around and made me feel immediately at ease. Tari and Scott actually live off of a little road towards the back of the house, but they are within walking distance of the house and always accessible by phone if you need anything. The house is absolutely stunning and comforting, and it has all the amenities you could possibly need. Tari and Scott take great care of the house. It was always in immaculate condition. The furniture and fixtures are beautiful, and there is a fully stocked kitchen (you can take any of the food for the day free of charge--granola bars, crackers, fruit, deli meats, cheese, baked banana bread, bagels, tea, coffee, juice, soda, bottled water, wine, and more!). I practically ate an entire banana bread loaf that Tari baked during my stay because it was so delicious, and of course Tari and Scott will serve you a yummy breakfast every morning upon request. I had some of the best night's sleep in the room I stayed in too. Each room has its own thermostat and there was a comfy down blanket that I slept with every night for the three nights I was there. My drive to Miami U. each morning was less than 5 minutes, and every time I left the conference, I was excited to go back to the house! Tari and Scott are very kind and personable. They truly care about their guests' comfort and happiness. I highly recommend staying here over a hotel. The rates are comparable, and you get so much more from staying here. If I ever find myself in Oxford again, I will for sure stay here again.

In the first room, the blow dryer on the wall rattled, had old paint, and didn't work; the air conditioner didn't work properly and was hot all night; and the phone in the room didn't work. The shower in the bathroom leaked, flooding the bathroom. The staff is nice, but was unable to fix the room except by providing a blow dryer. When I came back to my room in the afternoon, they had not serviced the room even though I told them the bathroom flooded--Oh, guess what, they don't service the rooms unless you stay over three nights! They offered to move me and give me a one-night refund. FYI: at checkout, no refund, and when I called back, they offered 10% off the first night-- 2nd room was better. However, I was woken up in the early morning by a hotel fire alarm blasting loudly! Looking at reviews now, this has happened before, so obviously, they have an issue and have not rectified it. The faucet in this bathroom sprays back onto the counter, making a mess. Just seems that there is a lot of neglect in keeping this property up to par. Would not recommend this property.

The person who took our reservation made a mistake and booked us on the wrong day so when we got there we had no room. To make matters worse they changed us a no show fee. When we tried to get this fixed we were told we have to go through choice hotels. We called choice hotels, they did an investigation, they sent us an email admitting the person taking the reservation messed up, but to get a refund on our credit card we had to call the hotel directly. We presented the management with the email and he refused to give us a refund saying they made no mistake.

I was worried from the reviews that this place would be super unclean but it was rather nice! The entire hotel had a very clean smell and was not musty (although it looked like it should be lol) Our first room was spotless and the air smelled so fresh. However, it had a slightly leaky bathtub faucet that we knew would keep us up at night so we requested to switch rooms. They happily obliged and we were quickly moved to the room next door with less than a 15 minute wait! This room was clearly not used in a little while so it was a bit dustier but not so much as to bother our allergies. The bathrooms were very clean and I was especially impressed with our shower. The faucet was super easy to use and understand (what is it with hotels and their confusing shower faucets?? Why are the hot and colds switched??) the water warmed INCREDIBLY quickly and the water pressure was PERFECT! (Usually hotel showers have two pressure settings; peel your skin off or lightly pee on you) My only problem with the bathroom was that there were two sinks, one in the bathroom and one outside. For some unknown reason, the hotel decided to put the hand soap dispenser next to the OUTSIDE sink so you have to turn the door handle after flushing the toilet to get to the soap. The beds and blankets were comfy, the TV worked well, my dad thought it was hysterical that they had a DVD/VCR player. It really did give off major 2005 vibes from when I was little. The one chair we had in the room was an incredibly uncomfortable office chair that my mother did not appreciate as she did not want to sit in the bed the entire time and the chairs outside were wet from the rain. The lobby is quite nice with high ceilings and chandeliers but still giving a cozy vibe. The brown leather couches and chairs are very dated but INCREDIBLY comfy. So much so that my mother, who is very picky about her chairs, fell asleep in one!! The reason we were in the lobby though is the reason I subtracted one star. The Wi-Fi is incredibly spotty and often falls in and out. I know I know if you're in a state park you shouldn't bring electronics but some of us like to stay connected. If you stay here, expect to go to the lobby to be on your devices or bring a book. Overall the stay was nice. I'm interested in going back during the main season to see what the quality is like but I'd give this experience 3+1/2 stars Also a special shout-out to the gift shop!! The shopkeeper Gail (I may be spelling her name wrong) is lovely and makes her own art and sells a little bit of it with all the other cute stuff in there! She is an incredibly talented painter and I hope she adds more of her items to the store so my family can buy them when we come back!

One negative is that there were several spider webs on the balcony and some of the light fixtures in the room. They need to pay attention to these while cleaning.

If you have never been here for a meal you walk in the front door and either walk down the steps or take the elevator down one floor. We were seated immediately of course we did have reservations (required I believe for the brunch). I ordered coffee and a mimosa then walked to the buffet area which had lots of food options from breakfast items to chicken and fish for lunch items, they also had an omelets station. I will admit my favorite part was getting a yummy omelet made to order. Service was amazing and the place was very clean. Everyone was professional and took great care of everyone. I didn't take pictures but wish I had, since the view was of the lake right outside the lodge, I could see myself coming back again for something other than a buffet, remember I said I am not a buffet fan, well this one didn't make me like them any more but it was clean and lots of options. Was it good, yes. Was the food amazing, not to me, again not a buffet fan. (To many years in the military) Everyone around me seemed to be enjoying the food and almost everyone went back for multiple plates. I will say the view and the atmosphere was worth it to me.
