This time I was planning a longer trip, overall, as part of a family vacation and decided to save a few dollars. Since most of my activities in the area kept me out of the room I accepted that I could "deal with anything" just for a couple of nights. And I wanted to recognize the improvement over the past two or three times I visited in 2020 and 2021. The room was upgraded and improved. It has newer furniture and bathroom features. The bathroom seemed cleaner and was stocked for the appropriate guests. The air unit was modern and held the selected temperature well. There was a working remote for the television. Our blow dryer had a short and kept shutting off when my wife tried to use it. The only obvious area of opportunity was the breakfast service. It is promoted as 6 to 9 am. My wife and I arrived at 8:15. The juice dispensing machine was out of order. The coffee had only one regular dispenser and tasted bitter. The waffle maker worked and we each had a waffle and coffee. It looked like there were spaces for other things to be displayed so I was not sure if things were out or nobody was replacing anything for a reason. As I said I appreciate the improvements and efforts in the room. I plan to return for another visit in July.

A Mexican restaurant and a convenience store are within walking distance across the parking lot. Not well managed…read more First I recognize there are few options in the area but this hotel is being run into the ground. I'll try not to comment on the clientele because that isn't under the complete control of the hotel, but let's just say it was rowdy and loud. Due to availability we needed to stay in 2 rooms. One room was on the first floor. The entire ground floor smells like they must had had a flood and it is now mildewy and moldy. The conference room even had floor fans going so I'd say that's a good guess. The workout room is itty bitty which is fine, but the treadmill wouldn't turn on and maybe I'm glad because the mildew smell and humidity in there was probably not good for breathing. The next room was better smelling albeit still slightly damp and smelly. But we had fewer towels than people and they couldn't provide any more towels to us because they didn't have any. They did offer to wash the two towels that we had and we'd get them back in over an hour. Seriously? That's just unacceptable and poor management of a hotel.

We were there with our dog and I love that the door to go outside has a giant window beside it so you can see if someone else with a dog is coming and can give them space to pass. Plenty of close grassy areas for your dog to go potty, as well as grassy areas a bit further away for more privacy. Also I love that the dog rooms were all on the first floor. The front desk staff were so friendly and professional. Our keycard wasn't working at first and before we even asked for another one, he already had 2 more for us! The breakfast was impressive- there was REAL bacon, mini cheese omelets, tater tots, delicious fresh waffles, and a variety of juices and other baked goods. Also, oatmeal with toppings. There were also a variety of condiments and spreads to choose from. In our room, we were surprised to have a Keurig with good-quality K-cups, Green Mountain brand. Our room was so quiet and we could not hear any talking from other rooms, except doors closing but it wasn't as loud as it usually is when we've stayed at other hotels. I cancelled but haven't received my refund. I'm not getting anywhere to receive it as hotels.com won't back the cancellation policy, hotel marceline won't answer their phone for them either and hotel marceline keeps stating a refund was sent that day but my bank looked into it and nothing has been attempted to be refunded. Don't book here if there is even a slight chance of having to cancel as you will be out the money. It doesn't matter if it says you can cancel they won't honor it.

I told the manager the situation and that I understood their policy of 24 hr cancellation but could they do a one time courtesy and honor my checkout since I was leaving before 11am. This was a sold out location so there wouldn't have been a problem filling the room. No compassion from this hotel and I will never stay here in the future again. I would recommend to stay away!
