We visited from the GTA! Our first time staying at this lovely hotel!…read moreWhat I loved about it; The cleanliness, everything was so clean & just the atmosphere of the hotel was awesome. The receptionists Amy & another girl (didn't catch her name) were so polite & made sure we were well taken care of. They even upgraded our room for us because they felt it wasn't right because of an odd smell in our original room. So that was a very pleasant unexpected surprise! The pool was an awesome added bonus, it was clean & well maintained. You do need to have proof of double vaccination for the pool area & fitness room! The room was super clean, came with a microwave & a nice size bar fridge, along with a Keurig machine for coffees! The hotel is close to all shopping & other amenities. The receptionists are fluent in French & English. It's right beside an A&W which was cool. I definitely enjoyed my stay here. I highly recommend this place for your next stay in Kapuskasing. Thank you so much ladies, we shall see you soon! Cheers! :D

New place on the edge on town. Seems as though the big draw here is the pool with the water slide…read more I didn't get to try it, but it looks fun. The rooms are good with soft yet firm mattresses. The bathroom is a little small, but it's ok for just myself. The air conditioning and heating work very well and are easy to adjust to whatever you like. The free breakfast in the morning is a medium thing here. It's not crappy old bagels that are very hard, but it's not very surprising or great. The package muffins are tasty, but the eggs and sausage isn't the best I've ever had. Certainly a good place to stay along a lonely highway.

Apollo Motel - Double Queen Guestroom

We stayed at the Apollo Motel on our way through Canada on the Trans-Canadian Highway. The Apollo…read morewas undergoing renovations and was a bit of a work in progress. Nevertheless, we had a good night's sleep, which was the main thing we were looking for. The rooms are simple and not very well decorated. Our room did not have a side table on one side of the bed. The reason for this poor review is that my wife (who was on the side without the side table) inadvertently left her $800 prescription progressive eyeglasses on the floor, where they remained as we continued our journey. She discovered they were missing the next night, when we were in Thunder Bay. She called and spoke with the night clerk, who confirmed via a texted photo that they had located the eyeglasses and were holding them for her. Since we were not going to be anywhere in the area of the Apollo on the remainder of our trip, my wife discussed with them her sending a postage-prepaid package addressed to another location in Ontario where we would be in a few weeks, along with directions, which cost us $30. She had tracking on both the package going to the Apollo and the prepaid package for the glasses to be forwarded on. A few days later, she confirmed (both via the tracking number and a call to the Apollo) that they had received the package and would be sending her back her eyeglasses using the prepaid package. As we neared the time we would be back in Ontario, my wife checked the tracking number for the pre-paid package. It never was registered as being sent. The Friday before we were to arrive back in Ontario (where we'd be for a week), my wife called and spoke with the day clerk, who assured her that they still had both the glasses and the package, and would put in the post that day. According to the tracking number, the package was never sent and we did not receive it while we remained in Canada, and the Apollo never returned our texts. As of this writing, they still have the glasses and are not returning them to her (which is now much more complicated as we are in the US traveling for the next few months). Because they were unprofessional, did not do what they said they would, and to this day have not returned my wife's expensive property, which any establishment with good service should do, I recommend you avoid the Apollo Motel.
