    Dirty stains on bed skirt.

Zero stars would be appropriate. The hotel was absolutely filthy. We discovered old food under the bed along with some sort of dirty food container. There was also what appeared to be blood stains on the comforter or poop stains on the sheets. The floors clearly had not been vacuumed in the room or mopped/swept in the bathroom. The toilet also did not function properly...took three flushes to work. When we brought these issues up to the general manager, who refused to provide his name, he stated that because we did not immediately (within 10 mins) bring this to his attention he would not do anything to rectify the situation (refund for that first night/discount of some sort). We did get moved to a new room....where we discovered used Qtips, probably several years old, in the heating vents, along with a shower that would not heat properly. In addition, we have several unexplained bug bites on our ankles. A thorough inspection of the room did not reveal any bed bugs, but unsure of where the bites came from otherwise. When I met with the general manager to discuss again, he became very aggressive. Slammed the table, stood up and got in my face, telling me it is my fault for not saying something sooner and refusing to provide any genuine apology or discount again. He also kept AirPods in the whole time and did not really pay any attention to me, or any guest for that matter. His lack of care or professionalism was appalling. He should not have a job. I have contacted the North Dakota health department and reported the hotel for their lack of cleanliness.

Ok, definitely wins the award for "coolest kids' pool at a motel" ...

Each summer, our family travels across country on a great American road trip. With COVID being at the top of everyone's mind, we needed to make some adjustments this year; it was more of a straight-through drive to my father in law's place in rural NoDak, with more desolate camping and fewer hotels. No indoor dining. No gas station restroom stops (we took our own portapotty... yeah.) Still, we enjoyed the beauty and resources of a big chunk of the USA, and experienced a wide-range of attitudes about the Rona in different parts of the country. So when we booked this hotel in Dickinson as a final stop before powering on to the other corner of North Dakota, we didn't quite know what to expect. After checking in, Mrs. Picante and I left the kids in the truck for a few minutes to go in and Clorox wipe everything. Neurotic, maybe, but the way I saw it, couldn't hurt. We got the doorknobs and fixtures, counter tops... that sort of thing. The room was definitely a "just passing through" sort of place, but clean. We opted for the "mini-suite at the end of the hall, so in addition to a king bed, there was a little Mini living room type area with a sofa bed, and the kids thought that was fun. On one trip to the car, there were a bunch of simple folks smoking just outside the door at the end of the hallway... yelling on the phone something about driving all the way down here and "didn't make parole." They were really nice though. Oh, and a two year old ran out of a room down at the end of the hall somewhere, but naked and crying, until (presumably) its mother came running out after it. Thankfully, she was clothed. Despite some of those "what time is check out?" unpleasantries, one apparent upside to this was the indoor pool area. It seems whatever expenditures this place didn't make on hallway carpet and parking lot paint lines went right into this somewhat ridiculous water park area. There is a huge water slide, a tropical themed wading area for littlest Uff'Dah's, and a mini ropes course over the other pool. There's a lot of chlorine happening in there so the Rona probably didn't stand a chance. Of course, my kids thought it was the greatest thing since Disneyland. Never mind that a raised drain grate cover is stupidly placed near the end of the huge slide, and two of my kids cut themselves on it bad enough to change our hiking plans in Theodore Roosevelt NP. Still fun I guess. Honestly, we'd make the decision to stay here again with that same crazy part of our brains that controls things like annual LA county fair attendance and forgetting to bring my cars in at night to avoid overnight parking tickets. But only because the pool was fun for my three little chiles.

This asshat is not worth your time

DO NOT STAY Checked in at midnight, woke up to no hot water, no tv , and a broken coffee maker. I feel personally used and victimized by the manager who told me when i complained that i should have said something at midnight, you know, i should have checked the hot water is an 100$ room. Rude af. Do not overspend for rooms that are really shells of what they are supposed to be, again manager was dismissive, rude and sexist Jj v

This place was horrible. At check in the desk clark was on a personal cellphone call on speaker.....didnt stop her from talking to whoever it was . Desk clerk said something and i said " excuse me " the reply from the clerk " i wasnt talking to YOU" THEN SHE GAVE ME KEYS TO AN OCCUPIED ROOM. She then told me that it was empty....like i was lying. I told her to go look for herself The " security" doors were anything but secure. I was afraid to leave my room as i thought someone else would get a key to it. 1 security door wouldnt close and the other had no pad at all. Ive NEVER had an experience this horrible at a hotel before

Kids are always a fan of the pool and water slide and their facilities technician, Max, showed up to turn the temperature up on the slide for my kids which they loved.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel with our little girl dog (one dog, up to 50 lbs, is allowed to stay per room and cost $75 per stay) for two nights. Our room had a kitchenette, which includes 2 stove burners, one full size fridge with freezer, dishwasher, microwave and of course a kitchen sink. We did utilize the stove and cooked most of our meals (please note that there is free breakfast provided at this hotel). There are pots and pans made available. There was only a set of 3 plates, bowls and glass cups and mugs. Inside the shower, there is shower gel, shampoo and conditioner on the wall, which I always appreciate. This hotel also has an indoor pool and gym on site. Checking into the hotel was fine. The employee who helped us friend friendly. And the same goes for when we checked out. We visited Mount Rushmore and also Theodore Roosevelt National Park while we stayed at this hotel. Overall, this was a nice hotel and would stay here again if visiting this area.

When I complained the day…read moreafter, the manager snapped and yelled at me and blamed my daughter for using the said bathroom instead of our rooms!!! The experience was like a horror-movie from Bollywood- not necessary scary but bizarre, twisted and simply horrible. I was lured by what I thought was a great deal- nice location, big "family friendly" hotel, large rooms, free breakfast, gym and pool. Like any horror movie, I initially felt good and thought I got a good deal. The first red flag came immediately when I arrived. There was nobody at the front desk and a young man was sitting on one of the couches across the desk. I waited for a couple of minutes and came this senior-looking foreign national and walked to the man seated and began berating him in front of me. Only after a minute or 2 did he turned towards me with a sour face and entertained me. Later that evening, my daughter decided to stroll in the hotel while I was already in bed. Then I got a bit worried she was taking some time and not returned yet. Then she contacted me by phone and said she got locked inside the hotel restroom because someone locked it from the outside without checking first if the cubicles were still occupied. The following day, I approached the same senior man in the front desk and asked if he was the manager- he said no but he stated he is in-charge. So I narrated to him the incident and he just gave me a non-chant reply that they just locked the restrooms regularly around that time. His casual tone and words ticked me off so I told him this is SERIOUS and my daughter could have been trapped the whole morning had she not brought her cellphone with her. He then snapped and yelled at me saying he also has the right to be angry because my daughter was walking in the lobby late that night and used the bathroom instead of our room's. His eyes even bulged out of its sockets ala Samuel Jackson when he gets angry in the movies. He yelled 2x and the second time he said I acted as if I owned the hotel. Wow- never in my whole lifetime have I checked in a hotel with such a rude manager. And whatever happened to the "family-friendly" description in their website??? Aside from the above here are the sub-standard practices in the hotel. (1) There are days the lady refilling the food in the breakfast buffet table is not wearing any gloves (2) My daughter who likes to stroll around the lobby noted that there were many times visitors were made to wait on the unattended front desk (3) They do not make-up the rooms daily; I checked with the cleaning lady and she said my room was never listed to be cleaned (4) On the day of my check-out, a cleaning lady knocked and said she was instructed to clean the room but this was still 9am and check out time was 11am (5) When I was lining up for check-out, the gentleman in front of me was complaining his room cleaned up while he was not around that day (early before check-out time) and that some things he put in a bag was missing and mostly thrown-away whereas he did not marked and set them aside as garbage. The cleaning lady assumed it was garbage and he was wondering how would she know if she did not open the bag??? He said he felt his privacy was violated. Upon reading the other reviews online, I discovered that except for the locked restroom, the incidents were quite "normal" here. One previous guested lamented witnessing the same scolding scene upon his arrival and when he complained that he was tired and prefers not to witness this, he was rebutted by the manager in a condescending tone. On my way out, I struck a conversation with the guest who complained and he said he is from South Dakota and is well-familiar with the hotels in the area as he frequently stay in one of them on business trips. He said he is very familiar with this hotel which had deteriorated through the years. No thanks from that manager from the Bollywood horror movie...
