TownePlace Suites is one of those hotels that I like stay at. They are always clean, spacious, have…read morefree WiFi and parking, provides a free breakfast and is dog friendly. My husband and I stayed at this hotel with our little girl dog (one dog, up to 50 lbs, is allowed to stay per room and cost $75 per stay) for two nights. Our room had a kitchenette, which includes 2 stove burners, one full size fridge with freezer, dishwasher, microwave and of course a kitchen sink. We did utilize the stove and cooked most of our meals (please note that there is free breakfast provided at this hotel). There are pots and pans made available. There was only a set of 3 plates, bowls and glass cups and mugs. Inside the shower, there is shower gel, shampoo and conditioner on the wall, which I always appreciate. This hotel also has an indoor pool and gym on site. Checking into the hotel was fine. The employee who helped us friend friendly. And the same goes for when we checked out. We visited Mount Rushmore and also Theodore Roosevelt National Park while we stayed at this hotel. Overall, this was a nice hotel and would stay here again if visiting this area.

I've had larger one bedroom suites. The rooms don't have extra blankets, I went to the front desk asking for some, and was told staff would bring them to our room, they never did. Poor and uninviting service is enough to not make me come again.

In general, this property was clean and well maintained. The elevator was speedy when summoned. I…read morealways appreciate when there is an iced water dispenser in the lobby. Which there was. Breakfast bar was well stocked - sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, hash browns, hot & cold cereals and milk, fruit, juices, bread assortment, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and the waffle maker. There were plenty of tables and the food was easily accessed in an area separate from the dining space. We had a double queen room that was well appointed. There were plenty of bedside outlets, but no USB ports. There was a USB port on the desk lamp. This motel does not stock in-room coffee makers/keurigs, but rather invite guests to pick up coffee in the lobby 24/7. The mini-fridge did not have a freezer unit, but was up to temp and clean. The 28"ish bed was higher than I prefer and the edges were what I call 'roll off soft'. The TV had a mind of its own and was stuck on BRAVO station. Allison from the front desk was kind enough to visit our room to trouble shoot. Eventually the remote was unpaired and then repaired to the TV. That did the trick, but after coming back from dinner, the TV was on a new channel. We put it back to the Oregon Ducks game and it immediately moved to a different show. This happened several times and husband concluded that our TV's remote was in a different room. He called the desk, explained what was happening and then said he'd continue to change the channel to so the other guest would complain to the front desk. That worked. The other guest got their remote unpaired and repaired to their TV and everyone was happy the rest of the evening. The main downer with this room was how low the toilet bowl was to the floor. I have bad knees and this particular fixture placement was a challenge. Suggestion for big name chain motels is to have some non-ADA senior adult rooms where the bathrooms are outfitted with tall toilets and grab bars in the showers, be they tub or walk-in. We'd stay at this property again. Maybe they'll have the lack of USB portals sorted out if enough guests make comments about this.

I stayed at Comfort Inn while in town for my father's funeral, and this hotel turned an already…read moredevastating trip into a series of completely avoidable problems caused by staff misconduct, policy contradictions, and unsafe conditions. After driving 12 hours straight, the night clerk refused to check us in. She stated she "had to do actual work," yet she did not perform any task. She stood still, stared at me, and made us wait over 30 minutes in the car for no legitimate reason. This was not a delay -- it was intentional disregard for a paying guest. Later, a staff member spoke negatively about me loudly in the hallway, close enough for me to hear every word. When I brought this to the manager's attention, he responded with aggression instead of addressing the employee's behavior. This is unacceptable conduct for anyone in a customer‑facing role and demonstrates a serious lack of training and professionalism. I was also charged a pet fee even though the hotel's own guest directory clearly states "No pet fees." Charging fees that contradict written policy is misleading and raises consumer‑protection concerns. The breakfast policy was equally unreasonable. Despite limited breakfast hours and a refrigerator in the room, I was told I would be charged an additional $50 if I took food back to my room. This fee is not posted anywhere and appears to be an arbitrary verbal threat rather than an actual policy. The toaster in the breakfast area had missing or disabled safety functions and repeatedly burned food, creating a clear safety hazard. This location failed at every basic standard: professionalism, safety, transparency, and respect for guests. The combination of staff misconduct, aggressive management, contradictory fees, and unsafe equipment makes this hotel a risk for anyone expecting a safe and honest stay. I strongly advise future guests to be aware of these issues before booking
