I saw that they did birthday personalizations, so I asked if they would be willing to make a batch that said, "HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY". Usually they need hours-days in advance to make and it was close to closing, but in the spirit of the holiday, they were MORE than happy to accommodate. Not only that, they even waited a little longer after closing just so that my friend could pick up the batch, because I had to go to work. These donuts didn't just look and smell great, but they tasted SOOO good. My girlfriend just absolutely LOVED them and I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend for anyone that's looking for that "Mom & Pop" sort of donut business.

I didn't get to try any of the product because my husband and his employees ate them all and he didn't save me one- but I heard they were very good. Payment was even easier- I used Venmo, but if I remember correctly there were other options (don't quote me on that though, call and ask her). The Biscoff cheesecake is pure indulgence from the first bite. It has a rich, velvety texture that…read moremelts smoothly, balanced by the warm, spiced caramel notes of the Biscoff spread. The cookie crust adds just the right amount of crunch and a slightly toasted sweetness that complements the creamy filling without overpowering it. It's decadent but not overly heavy, making it dangerously easy to keep going back for another slice. The tres leches cake, on the other hand, offers a completely different but equally satisfying experience. It's light, airy, and incredibly moist, soaked in a blend of three milks that give it a delicate sweetness without feeling soggy. Each bite is soft and almost cloud-like, with a subtle vanilla flavor that pairs beautifully with the whipped topping. It's refreshing rather than rich, making it the perfect dessert when you want something sweet but not overwhelming.

I really wanted to enjoy my first visit because I had heard good things about this place. When I…read morecame in, I explained that it was my first time and asked what cheesecake they would recommend for someone trying them for the first time. I was asked what I felt like eating, and when I said I wasn't sure and was really just looking for a recommendation, the response was, "Well, if you don't know what you want, how do I know what you want?" I felt a little taken aback by that. I wasn't expecting anyone to know my personal taste--I was simply hoping to hear what their most popular or signature cheesecake was. I decided on the blackberry cheesecake. This is completely a matter of personal preference, but it wasn't what I expected from a homemade-style blackberry cheesecake. The texture and flavor reminded me more of an instant or prepared cheesecake-style dessert than the rich, slightly tangy cream-cheese flavor I personally associate with cheesecake. I also couldn't really detect much blackberry flavor or fruit in it. I don't necessarily need blackberry seeds, but I would have enjoyed some blackberry pulp, small pieces, or a stronger real-fruit flavor. There was also a piped topping on the cheesecake that I expected to taste like whipped cream, but to me it tasted more like a prepared frosting. Again, that's simply how it tasted to me and others may absolutely prefer this sweeter, smoother style. My biggest disappointment was really the overall first-time experience. When someone says they've never been to a business before and asks for a recommendation, I think that's a great opportunity to introduce them to what you're most proud of or what customers order most often. I understand that taste is very subjective, and judging by the people who enjoy this business, their cheesecake clearly has an audience. It just wasn't the homemade, cream-cheese-forward, real-fruit style of cheesecake I was expecting, and the customer-service interaction unfortunately didn't make my first visit feel particularly welcoming.

My sister and I have been a loyal customer of That's The Cake in Arlington for over 15 years, and…read moreafter this experience, I can honestly say I will never order from them again. Before my sister placed an order, she called the bakery to explain the exact color she wanted. She was instructed to place my order online, select "gray," and then call back with the specific shade so it could be noted on the order. She followed their instructions exactly and specifically requested charcoal gray. She even told them the cake is on the website and told them where it was on the website. She wanted it designed exactly how it was on the website as well. When she arrived today, 7/14/26, to pick up the cake, she was completely shocked. Instead of charcoal gray, the cake was green. Not a darker gray. Not "slightly off." Green. I've attached photos of what we ordered versus what we received because the difference speaks for itself. She had spent over $100 on this cake, and it was for a special occasion. At that point, she didn't have time to wait for it to be re-frosted as the cashier mentioned it would take awhile, so she was forced to take a cake that looked nothing like what we ordered. What made this experience even worse was the way management handled it. The cashier could clearly see how upset my sister was and at least showed compassion. The manager, however, showed no empathy, no accountability, and no concern for the inconvenience his bakery caused. After she left, my sister called me (Candice) completely frustrated - so I called to speak with the manager. Instead of taking responsibility, he claimed there was "no way to verify" that my sister had called to specify the color--even though she was simply following the instructions his bakery gave her. He didn't try to resolve the issue by saying "I'll talk to my staff to see what happened". He COMPLETELY dismissed all accountability of HIS bakery negligence to notate our order of the specific color. Then he went a step further and told me that he personally offered to re-frost the cake himself and that my sister refused. I called and asked my sister if this was true and she said NO. So he blatantly lied to my face. She said the manager spoke only a couple of words to her while she was in the store and never once offered to personally fix the cake. Hearing that he fabricated that conversation was more upsetting than the cake itself. To add insult to injury, the only resolution offered was $20-$25 back on a cake that cost over $100 and was not what I ordered. Even the design/decoration was completely wrong. Businesses make mistakes. We can forgive mistakes. What I cannot overlook is dishonesty, lack of accountability, and poor customer service. If the manager had simply apologized, owned the mistake, and made a genuine effort to make it right, this review probably wouldn't exist. Instead, we were left with the wrong cake, an inadequate refund offer, and a manager who chose to deny responsibility and misrepresent what happened. After 15 years of supporting this bakery, this experience has permanently changed our opinion of the business. The cake color was disappointing. The customer service was unacceptable. I will not be returning, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend That's The Cake to others. Still waiting on that disrespectful so called refund of $25 as well.

The pickup process was incredibly easy, quick, and smooth, which made the visit really convenient. The cookies themselves were absolutely delicious. They were soft, moist, and packed with flavor, and the icing was rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet without being overwhelming. I also appreciated how fresh everything tasted. The cookies were a really generous size and surprisingly filling, making them feel like a truly indulgent dessert rather than just a quick snack. The Strawberry Milkshake flavor was especially enjoyable and tasted exactly like the name suggests. Overall, this was a great experience all around, from the easy ordering process to the quality of the cookies and the excellent customer service.
