When I booked my taxi, the woman was attentive, lovely customer service, took my name, the postcodes, the standard things. The taxi was booked at 12.30, the standard wedding carriage time, and I was told a predicted cost for the 8-10 minute journey.
At twenty past twelve, a grumpy taxi driver strode into the private wedding party announcing my name and his displeasure at having to wait for us, looking me up and down- he'd arrived fifteeen minutes early, and been waiting for five.

Crank drove away in a strop, "you just want dropping off in halfway house", no, sorry, I provided the postcode to the cottage where we're staying, "well I don't have it, do you want dropping off at halfway house". Maps on phones in the back we had to direct him, where he complained about the lanes and then charged us for turning around the car, the total higher than I was told on the phone. He was quite the sourpuss, and I was very grateful that as a non-local, I'm not going to have to deal with him again.
