Comcast Xfinity Performance Pro Internet From rjbutler-com In my last few posts I described my latest experience with Comcast's Xfinity Internet and mobile services. The post was very wordy. Some of you complained that it was downright sleep inducing. For those of you who just want the facts, here is a shorter version. Comcast Xfinity give you an up to a $10.00 discount if you enable paperless billing through EcoBill, and assign a credit card and/or bank account to be used for billing purposes. Quite frequently, and for no reason that I currently know of, Comcast Xfinity disables the paperless billing, forcing you to re-enable it. If you do not re-enable it quickly, you will lose your discount. Quite often, when you converse with a Comcast Xfinity representative, you will be exposed to various offers. This is known as upselling. This is when a seller invites the customer to purchase more expensive items, upgrades, or other add-ons to generate more revenue. The danger here is that accepting any offer may change your services in unexpected ways. Most importantly, some Comcast Xfinity representatives lie, or deliver misinformation. Why is any of this relevant? If you have Comcast Xfinity services, then here is an example of what might happen to you. * On 2/2/2024 I noticed that my paperless billing through EcoBill had reset. * Texted with a Comcast Xfinity representative, who helped me reassert the paperless billing. * The same Comcast Xfinity representative then offered to save me money by adding Xfinity mobile. * I told the Comcast Xfinity representative that I was under contract with T-Mobile. * The Comcast Xfinity representative then lied and stated that my phones were compatible. * The Comcast Xfinity representative then lied and stated that my phones were unlocked. * The Comcast Xfinity representative then lied and stated that I could keep my current Internet plan. * Based on the lies of the Comcast Xfinity representative, I consented to the addition of a mobile plan. * I soon discovered that my phones were locked and I had to cancel the mobile plan. * Because I consented to adding the mobile plan, I lost my original Internet plan. * The plan that replaced it was more expensive. Comcast Xfinity refused to reinstate my former price. The moral of this story; Comcast Xfinity will lie to you, while telling you that you are "kind", "understanding", and "I want the best for you". You screwed me! I called to find out why I no longer had access to HBO Max. During the conversation, I asked--multiple times--if switching to a different plan would impact my Netflix access. I was reassured repeatedly that I would not lose Netflix. That turned out to be false, and I believe I was misled--please review the call recording. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told someone would call me back. When he did, I had difficulty understanding him and asked several times to confirm whether he was, in fact, a manager or supervisor. Later in the call, he accused me of being disrespectful and unprofessional for doing so. To be clear, I was simply trying to verify his position--nothing more (again, please pull the call). As a so-called resolution, he offered to upgrade my internet speed--something he acknowledged I don't currently use or need. How is that an appropriate replacement for a service I did value and was told I'd keep? The bottom line is this: I was misinformed by your representative, and now I've lost a benefit I was assured I would retain. This feels like a deliberate tactic to push customers off older, more favorable plans under false pretenses. I'm asking you to do the right thing and address this issue ethically. read more

Been with Comcast for 30 years with a grandfathered plan that included Netflix, max, mgm etc for n/c. Also landline was included in the internet, 2g. I had an issue with the phone number transferring to Verizon for better pricing but decided not to go with them. Comcast unceremoniously cancelled my plan and my bill shot up 45.00! For the same services. Spoke to several people who assured me it'll be fixed and they would call me back. Guess what, they never returned the call nor did I get my original package back. They lie so well there it's not to be believed! Cannot be trusted no matter what! I will be leaving to go to Verizon soon though I have a feeling they all b/s well. read more

Internet speed is much slower than advertised especially if you are using two or more devices simultaneously. Both phone and Internet completely stops working at times. Customer service is almost nonexistent if you want to speak to an actual human. If you are lucky enough to talk with someone after waiting 40 minutes, their employees do not speak English other than a few stock sentences. Lots of mysterious hidden charges and extra taxes pad the bill. I now deal with Comcast's main competitor because they are far superior in every respect but that is not saying much. My Internet and phone service go out for several hours a few times a year. But Comcast had more frequent and longer outages, and cost almost triple for slower Internet speed. read more

I always have a really terrible experience trying to talk to them. My internet has been slowed down lately and last time I called them, they lied and said they increased my speed, though my plan doesn't reflect this. If you could select a different ISP company I strongly recommend you do so. read more

The gloves are off and Comcast has apparently dropped any pretense of customer care. As of June 26th, free access to their Peacock streaming service will end for current customers of their Xfinity cable service. After that a $5.99 monthly fee will be imposed to continue watching. Personally, I think I may have run into the service once by mistake but this move certainly puts into graphic relief Comcast's desire to extract maximum revenue from their rapidly contracting pool of cable subscribers (almost 7,000 Comcast cable customers cancel every day) who are defecting in droves to much more cost effective streaming options. Cable television is dying and Comcast clearly wants to pick every pocket on their descent into Hades. With one or two movies a month and a random NFL playoff game scheduled in 2024, Peacock doesn't seem long for the world especially as the fledgling streamer continues to lose billions. As soon as my Comcast Cable contract runs out next December it will be time to put a fork in these pirates and go full streaming without Peacock. Peacock, I hardly knew ya. One star. read more

I'm literally crying as I write this. I begged the recording a representative POLITELY more than 10 times. I said No clearly when asked if I would like to be texted for help. I begged for billing. This is the worse company I have ever had to deal with. The recording HUNG UP on me 3 times. They won't hire for remote workers in the area but are foring us to use robots to try to communicate and even when you COMMUNICATE clear, it still DOES WHAT IT WANTS TO DO. They take advantage of people because they're the only phone company in the area. I have called back 5 times now and it STILL keep hanging up on me. I'm ready to sue. Horrible! If I could get internet from anywhere else I would. They cancelled my internet, without telling me, I had to spend the whole work day trying to get it back, they never told me what went wrong aside from an "issue" and their app (the only way to contact them because I didn't have internet) kept disconnecting me. I would rate them -12 stars if the scale offered that option. Their personnel are almost exclusively in The Philippines to get cheap labor. They're not at all knowledgeable, they hang up on you, they give you inaccurate advice, they transfer you to people who say they're in the wrong department, the list goes on. It's a classic case of "you get what you pay for". On the rare occasion I was able to reach a U.S. based technician, I was able to get the help I needed. There seems to be no way to reach Tom Karinshak, President and Chief Customer Experience Officer at Comcast to let him know his personnel are performing far below the lowest possible performance level. After seven hours on the phone, i gave up. Shortly after that I discovered the source of the problem I was having, and had it fixed in about 40 minutes. read more

Zero not being an option I'm forced to rate this disservice company "ONE STAR". I can only see the reinforcement of the adage " lack of competition only leads to greed, apathy and dependency on false advertising to fool the public into believing that quality is forte. Let's look at the so-called quality, Constant interruption of service , check Inability to access a real person when calling for help- check Increased cost with less reliable service-check Keep in mind, this company couldn't even broadcast the superbowl game in its headquarters home town!! I'm sure the broadcast of tonight's women's World Cup will be sporadic at best or simply frozen like my current screen that has been frozen during the entire composition of this review. For the last 2 months I've had to contact Comcast customer service about overcharges to my account almost on a weekly basis. Its corrected to only receive a bill again that reflects the same issue again. Now I have a past due amount that shouldn't exist and it should've never gotten to this point since I was assured it was taken care of. DO NOT use autopay for them cause I would've been royally screwed if I had. Multiple calls and chats and today I find they credited me for the wrong amount! Numerous disconnects with chat or calls to only have to start from the beginning all over again. I can't vent enough. read more

1/10/2025 I am another dissatisfied potential customer for that company and I think Comcast does not care. Last year when the complex where I live started to sign up for the above provider, I contacted multiple times Comcast and spoke to supervisors and managers. Besides that the technician never showed up for 3 times, I was told that Comcast did not offer the French channel I wish to see. Yes multiple times I spoke to supervisors and managers. Therefore I decided to continue with AT&T. Today yes today when I went online what I saw? the French channel. i spoke to an agent and she told me that it was offered for years. I was stunned. How can you trust such people? such company? I could have signed up a year ago. Unbelievable but very true. I felt betrayed and lost trust. American people do not do their job well. It was bad before the pandemic and now even worse. No one wants to work and quality people are very difficult to find. I won't recommend that company to my best friends. read more

Automated system is absolutely garbage. If you get disconnected for any reason it sets you back to square one. Had a lengthy discussion with an agent, disconnected and then sent back to having to tell the really incompetent automated system that I needed an agent. Got another agent, same issue within 10 minutes. Simply attempting to update the account so my wifes name isn't misspelt as the owner of the account under my email (although she was told she couldn't do anything with the account and needed phone authentication via Xfinity calling me - although my name is not on the account go figure?) All in all absolutely mindblown by the last hour of interactions, the people were nice but the system is broken and this business is going downhill fast. read more

I have been with Comcast/Xfinity for 30 years!!... Their service is always on and dependable, that's why I'm still here and not moved to the streaming services. But I think its time to change. I do recognize their services are high but it works. Lately, like the last 3 months I have asked for a reduction in my monthly bill and they use promotions to achieve it. For 3 months, they tell me its being reduced by 25 bucks... not major but it puts my bill under 300 for the month.... the last 3 months its been over 300. This time I have an email stating that my bill is 288. NOW the CSA and MGR says well you have Neflix!!! BUT I ALWAYS HAD NETFLIX! So for the past 90 days they have been BSing me and haven't lowered nothing. Its a shame they will be losing 3700 yearly because of the BS. Thank you for reading... and forget trying to get a live person... if so it will be in Jamaica or the Philippines....... read more

I've had Comcast now Xfinity for a very long time and have NEVER been a fan. They've morphed over the years to have one of the WORST customer support system EVER. I bought an XFi Pod and could not activate the pod via their App. The App kept failing and when I tried contacting Customer Service, had a field day getting a hold of an agent that could speak and understand what I needed. Is all I'm trying to do is exchange for a working pod. After repeated attempts to get a customer service agent through the chat, I finally got a live person. I've been on the phone with "Lance" (he would not give me his ID info or last name) for over 45min now to 1) return the non-working and 2) get a replacement. The agent told me that a "free" replacement was forthcoming. I said "free"... Nothing is ever "free" with Comcast. He said it is absolutely free and when you receive it, you need to take the old one to a Store. After informing this guy that I already attempted to do this, had to repeat myself yet again. If any agent tries to tell you to take it to a store, don't bother as they won't except it. OMGoodness, I feel like I'm in a never ending loop. The kicker is I have to pay $137 for something that doesn't work BEFORE I get a replacement that MIGHT work. Just shoot me now. If you have any other option than Xfinity, take it. Horrible customer service. Almost impossible to get anyone on the phone, and when you do, they lie , offering you things they don't do. My wife had three months in a row, where she was promised a certain price and on the last time they didn't do it, she called and they said that no one would be authorized to do what they promised. Shady company in every way. Way too expensive. The latest outage, you cannot even get a person, just a message, knowing why you called, and to not call again because they are working on it. The customer service is beyond horrible. My bill increased from $55 per month to over $100 without any changes on my end and without any warning. Their customer support "number" doesn't have a live agent and the chat support isn't helpful. They only care about money and or their customers. Xfinity has consistently been a huge letdown with even providing poor service quality also. I wish I would've went with another service provider - honestly, ANYONE but them. I've been trying to reach them for over 4 months to understand why my bill has increased and now I'm stuck paying this high monthly bill with no assistance from them. The worst internet and cable carrier. The internet and cable go in an out all the time. I am supposed to have 1000 mbps speed and it doesn't come even close to that. Internet outage is at least a weekly issue. Currently, I have been waiting over 3-1/2 hours for them to fix the issue. read more

Well Edward, you are such a breath of fresh air, that I HAD to tell of my "feel good" experience with Comcast! Edward is an awesome, kind, and professionally welcoming representative who is definitely a precious company asset! This grab and go rushed climate that we live in these days, are just something that we are forced to endure. Edward, you are like a shot in the arm, making my day, week, no, YEAR! My husband and i are very disgusted at comcast,xfinity they have abused us for the past 10years. Its no wonder they came up with a huge building downtown with all the abuse they are subjecting their client they give you no type of leeway its their way or the highway? just 2months ago our contract was about to finished they bamboosal my husband into giving them his debit card information shoved 2cell phones to him and withought us getting our cell phone they just went inside our checking account and withdrew 79.36 now we took those 2cell phone to their store in roosevelt boulevard heading down towards BJ now after time passed we try to get our money back they refunded us 1.86 cent for each phone later after we kept insisting on getting our money back they came up with. you got your refund already???? What 3.72 does that look like 79.36 cents. plus they shoved a plan to my husband that after 2months attempt 3of the free channel they offered dont even work but in the meantime we are getting charged. read more

Received text that Comcast would be doing work today and to expect outages. Well, 3 trucks pulled up, 2 left and one came back...this was early am..finally 2 trucks seemed to stay and two men basically took all day to do about 30 minutes of work! Comcast was supposed to text when service was returned but that never happened! Check my phone and Wi-Fi was restored! Not really sure what they did but it took them all day! read more

This is the worse company for customer support and internet service. One signs up for internet for one price and then over the months the price increases because I assume they are giving out higher speeds that I never requested. Try to call customer service via phone or the web and it is a joke. AI Bot on the phone which takes forever if you want to speak to an agent and then get cutoff and have to go thru the whole process again. Their web page takes forever to load and seems to crash all the time. Also one minute the web page chat works and then you get disconnected and try to go back to use chat and it is not there anymore. I am a retired IT Manager of over 40 years and have my own computer consulting business so I know something about the internet/networking and business. Comcast just sees customers as a money bag. Also when they send out techs for problems, they are the most incompetent techs I have ever seen. They do not even know the most basic thing like how to put on a coax cable connector the correct way which then last for a few months because water gets into the cable end at the connector, so once again you have to get another tech out to fix the problem only to find out that he also does not know how to install a cable connector the correct way. I use to work for Kelly Cable when I got out of college during the recession and we contracted with Comcast to repair and overhaul their equipment i.e. cable boxes and line equipment so I know something about being a technician as I was also a retired Navy Electronics Technician and have a degree in Electrical Engineering and Technology. I just wish here in Philadelphia we had more choices for internet providers. At present it is only Comcast or Verizon, and Verizon is just as incompetent as Comcast. I am glad I will be moving soon to an area that has six different internet providers. Avoid Comcast at all cost as they will just cost you more money in the long run. read more

If I could give ZERO stars for this business, I would. The customer service is TERRIBLE. Good luck speaking with a person. Most of the time you are on the app speaking with a chat bot overseas which takes 20 minutes to answer one question. It took me over a week between chat bots and many humans on the phone- getting transferred and explaining my issue each time, to get my problem resolved. The problems were multi-faceted, including being overcharged for services that I did not request, offered inaccurate information, being sold a mobile phone I did NOT want, having a technician show up at my house who did not know why he was there, to my resolved issue and updated package not being processed - which led to another 30 minute call, etc., etc. Just terribly unacceptable service. read more

I am being kind offering 1 * Used Comcast over 20 years WHERE has the so called Customer Service gone? I dare you to "try" and speak to a live person ..Unless you have at least an hour to waste listening to several computer loops it's almost IMPOSSIBLE Now I FINALLY reach a real live person and dared to ask Debbie to compare my March bill VS my April bill which showed + $40 and I got a long story about a promo that ended ( despite last month being PROMISED by RASH that my new program was good for a full year??) OOPS sorry new promo, new bundling fees new (non) discounts.. you name it and they throw it at you Bottom line prices KEEP rising Service gets worse and worse.. Can you say buffering and buffering.. Xfinity takes the time to advertise that they are available in our area only to DISAPPOINT and INCONVENIENCE when I decide to switch. I spoke to a rep over the phone and told her that we'd been in our home for 18 years with the same provider and was wondering if Xfinity would need to install any special equipment to get us connected. I asked twice, and both times she responded no. I chose the package for TV & internet and anticipated the arrival of the equipment. Having been told TWICE that it was an easy connection, and having been INUNDATED with text messages that my equipment had arrived and is READY to be installed, we unplugged our previous provider anxious to get started with our new service only to find out that WE DID indeed need a tech to come out. It is practically impossible to speak to a LIVE AGENT, so when I finally did, I was told it would be 4 DAYS before anyone could come out. PROBLEM WAS, we'd unplugged the other company, and although we still had the service, couldn't reconnect it. Without exaggeration I spent 4+ hours between tech support & Xfinity customer service only to be let down and ultimately FIRE THEM before ever getting started. Why they thought we would go 4 DAYS without internet and TV is beyond me. If that's how they treat a new customer, I could only imagine the lack of customer service moving forward. Each call was a total waste of time...minimal live agents and when you do speak to someone it is obvious that English is not their first language. Xfinity could benefit from using this feedback as a training opportunity. 1)The sales rep either didn't know or didn't care 2) The escalation team was a total waste of my time, taking way too long to tell me WHAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED after the fact 3) It is intuitively obvious that you DO NOT want your customers to speak to a live agent 4) You lost a potential new customer as my provider was out the next day to reconnect my service and even offered an upgrade. 5) The fact that I needed to go into a store to return the unused equipment is already an insult, (not everyone has a printer) but having your associate take even more of my time trying to explain what the phone rep should have done instead of hearing me when I said I had no more time to waste, added insult to injury. You can stay out of our neighborhood. We expect BETTER!!! read more
