The plants and flowers are stored under a massive glass roof which gives it a hothouse effect - it was scorching the last day I was in. There is a large selection of real flowers as well as fake plants. The garden ornaments, wind chimes and decorations are beautiful but quite expensive. Anything you need for your garden, I could almost swear you would find it here. Out the front there is a gift store filled with toys and jewels and candles. At Christmas it is like a little Santa's grotto filled with internal and external ornaments for the home. I love it at Christmas time.

So, sniffing in the delightful scents that pervade a store such as this, I dandered through the downstairs section (not before I was greeted by the lovely, lovely flower lady behind the counter, who made such an effort to say hello whilst in mid-flow of another conversation with a customer, she has to be applauded). Upstairs was just as I'd imagined. A plethora of wedding gifts, baby gifts, toiletries, cute lamps, those wonderfully wise sayings in sign form (such as "I like my money where I can see it, hanging in my wardrobe), scented candles and other goodies. I picked up a small bag of pot pourri (ooooh the smell), and, noting it was handmade in Co Down, turned it on its top. I nearly collapsed at the price (well, I would have had I not been kneeling) for such a small bag...£4.99! But smelt so good - Mulberry Meadow was the name, and it lived up to every inch of its name. Stuff it, £4.99 it was... The delightful sales lady was even more delightful when I went downstairs to purchase my pot pourri, especially when I couldn't find my purse, began searching frantically for it, and then discovered it to be under my arm. Apparently that happens when you're older, not at 22. Whoopsies. The Mulberry Meadow was beyond beautiful when I opened the bag at a later stage. She very highly recommended Floral Designs in Bangor. As I don't live in Bangor I was quite surprised that she recommended somewhere away from where I live - their reputation is that good she told me. I rang up and made a telephone order for a bouquet with the total value of 25 pounds including delivery. I didn't get to see the order but the woman on the phone asked my lots of questions about the flowers I like and the colours I would prefer. I was very impressed and was willing to give them business purely on her telephone manner. My friends flowers arrived the next day and she was delighted, she mentioned that the bunch was massive and the smells were exquisite. I've since been in the shop itself and it is just as nice inside as I thought it would be. I received an efficient and friendly service and was conveniently able to pay over the phone. My friend was pleased and so was I - a good recommendation altogether.

This wee shop is in a lovely area of Bangor with plenty of other shops, bistros and cafés about so you can pop in here and then go get a bite to eat while you are waiting for them to finish your bouqet or bunch of flowers to be finished and prepared. You can get flowers here for weddings and funerals as well as to make up for being a bad boyfriend. Great prices, good service and a local business that should be well supported if you have the chance. Excellent stuff.

It sells beautiful flower arrangements and puts together bouquets for any occasion. Donna from the Flower Box made the flower arrangements for my sisters wedding 5 and she made such an impression that on every wedding anniversary my sisters husband, the old romantic, goes back to The Flower box and buys her a bouquet. The Flower Box operates and quick delivery service and this may be why they provide local businesses with their flowers. The shop itself is tiny and if you have hay fever I would bring your tissues because the pollen count is through the roof!

They exceeded my expectations in every way! My daughter and I have a very dear cousin in Belfast. We wanted to send her a bouquet of flowers, from each of us, for her birthday. I couldn't find my usual go-to florist and picked Norah Mitchell's due to their photographs, and price. I live in California and my daughter and her family live on the east coast. Vicki was wonderful to deal with on email and Carolyn was very kind and helpful on the phone. Flower arrangements were lovely and very affordable. Even my daughter remarked how beautiful and affordable her arrangement was. We highly recommend them and will be using them again during the upcoming Christmas holiday! They were extremely knowledgeable, knew how to deliver my vision and suggested great cost saving alternatives, when I went over the budget. On my wedding day they delivered everything on time and as promised. It was soo hassle free and one less thing to worry about. They started at £20 and went up as far as £40. We decided to go for £30 and she asked if we wanted her to make it up there and then-which we did! I must say, watching her work was really mesmerising and she mad it look so easy! The flowers were like a representation of Autumn! They were orange, red, deep purple and rust coloured. She took lots of time and helped us make the right choices according to our budget and needs. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff in general were all very obliging and helpful any time we called in to make a payment or emailed to ask a question. They liaised with the Church independently and took all the work and responsibility out of our hands. The peony arrangements in the church were commented on by everyone and I absolutely loved my bouquet - I didn't put it down all day. Stylish, modern and sophisticated in a nutshell. My garden was beautiful though, with hanging baskets and planters overflowing with lovely flowers and trailing things. And I had the most fab garden candles and lights. Come to think of it, where have all those candles and lights gone?? The Potting Shed sells everything you could need to creates your own hanging baskets and planters, but that's really not for me. What if I had to touch the compost, or saw a worm? Thankfully, they also sell the most beautiful ready made planters and baskets which are crammed with lovely things like trailing honeysuckle. Even better, when the next spring rolls around, you can bring in your empty basket or planter and they will fill them without you having to pay for the container. Perfect. They also sell compost, lawn feeder stuff and gloves for any crazy fool who does want to create their own little bit of nature. Here's the bizarre bit, they have recently started selling furniture. It's really lovely white painted furniture at very reasonable prices, but I still find it weird. But as long as they keep filling my baskets, I'm happy.

I received a beautiful bunch of flowers from here for my Birthday in December and they lasted for absolutely ages, it was such a beautiful addition to my living room, I would love to have fresh flowers in my house all the time (if I could afford it!) They also have small gifts which can be sent, such as boxes of chocolates, and small decorative items such as ornaments and Christmas decorations.
