Doesn't matter how old you are or what shape your in. It's about working out and having fun doing it. The place is kinda small but thats ok. The owners are extremely nice. In fact, everyone I met at Average Joe's was super nice. They give you a free class to try it out... and yes, my daughter had a blast. The owners took the time to teach my daughter how to box safely. First the foot work, then hands and then the arms. Each class is an hour. After boxing, they offered wrestling. My daughter wanted to try that too. She ended up liking the boxing practice a little better. So yeah, we will be back.

I first joined this sacred temple in attempts to learn more about myself. Learn and grow I did. The instructors I trained under were kick ass. Like rip your head off make it look easy. The one who honed my basic skills was Laoshi Harrison. To have such an instructor was an honor. In my time training I would learn forms and principles that I could take to my day to day life. Principles like: breath work, root, striking, flexibility, blocking, & holds. Mind you I am not looking for a fight. But, SHOCK AND LOCK. Am I right? As a student I felt respected. As a student I felt appreciated. As a student I felt nurtured. That is what allowed me to grow. That is what made me keep coming back. This element of care I promise you won't find anywhere else. And it is the exact element of healing that is in the name and is what makes this house of martial arts special. This temple was a place where I could improve. Where I could fall on my face and not be laughed at. If my form wasn't right or I did something wrong. I wasn't reprimanded. I was guided in the right direction. We're not members but come for their pool 1-3x a year, it's never been crowded every time we have…read moregone. Which is nice!! It's around $15 for my son and I to and swim, I like that they have a family room where you can store your things in lockers, they have bathrooms w/showers in the family room, I still bring all my belongings out in the pool area, you can bring your own snacks which is convenient. My boy who is 11, likes to swim in the deep area, he did have to take a swim test his first time to make sure he can swim in that area, once he passed, they made him wear and orange bracelet, now anytime we go, we just tell a lifeguard he passed and they're ok with him just grabbing a bracelet and putting it on every time, no need to take test again. When we would go, on weekends, water slide doesn't open till 11, overall this is a convenient place to go when you feel like swimming. With it being indoors though, the chlorine smell is strong, but tolerable. The lifeguards are very nice as well.

Hubby and I have recently become members here and it was well worth the money. We both really enjoy…read moreusing all of the gym equipment and I'm going to try some classes too. It's a great and family friendly facility with many great exercise options for people of all ages.

There is some boating/kayaking allowed. Boat ramps, some playground equipment, picnic tables. It costs to get in, but you can buy an annual pass which gets you into other parks in the area. I have camped in Prescott before, but never at this lake. I had heard great things about Lynx Lake…read moreand have always wanted to check it out. This lake was formed in the 1960s when they dammed Lynx Creek. It is stocked for fishing and has a campground and hiking trails around it. There are lots of animals that are native to this area like mule deer, osprey and bald eagles. I booked a campsite here during the summer because I own a kayak and wanted to get out on the water. After setting up my site, I headed over to Lynx Lake. I was a little disappointed to see the water so low. I guess in late 2024, the lake was partially drained to fix a mechanical failure in the dam's outlet valve. It has to rely entirely on natural rain and snow to be refilled and could take years to get back to normal. So we just did a hike around the lake and headed back to our campsite. Lynx Campground has around 35 campsites with a picnic table, fire ring and a grill at each site. There are no RV hook-ups, but they do have drinking water and toilets. The campsite is about half a mile directly south of Lynx Lake. We enjoyed our campsite and had a fun time. We had to partially share our site with another family because their giant tent spilled onto our site (which was annoying). But we made the most of it. The nice thing is that the Town of Prescott isn't too far away if you need any food or supplies. As for kayaking, we were able to do that over at Watson Lake. You can book a campsite ahead of time on Recreation.gov.

Visited on Saturday, November 1st, and arrived around 1 PM. Parking was $3. We first stopped at the…read morelower lake since the upper area was pretty busy, but quickly learned that the lower lake is lure fishing only--no bait allowed. So, we made our way back up to the upper lake, where bait is permitted. The upper lake was fairly crowded and a bit noisy (sound really carries there), but it's a beautiful spot overall--small, peaceful, and scenic. We stayed for about two hours, didn't catch anything, but did spot a few fish swimming around. Still a pleasant visit!
