The pros: no troubles honoring my groupon. Now to the cons My therapist was late to my appointment. My therapist said that my original therapist cancelled so she came in to cover but no one informed me why they were running so late. Next, the therapist did not ask me what areas I want worked on or what kind of pressure I liked. I thought this was odd. I get a massage weekly and this is standard practice. It just seemed like she was rushing. She starts and after awhile I asked for a little bit more pressure and with attitude she responds, we just started and this is a Swedish massage". Needless to say I didn't feel very relaxed at all for the rest of my massage. Like another reviewer mentioned, it literally just feels like they are slathering lotion on you and not actually massaging. I get a Swedish massage every week and there is at least SOME pressure if the client desires. Now to the back scrub. It lasted 1 minute. She put it on and took it right off. Barely sclubbed it on. The prices are a joke for what you get. The service is a joke. And the people are unprofessional. I do not recommend.

I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who instructed me to fill out some paperwork, which was just part of the norm. Once I completed the paperwork, Janet (the massage therapist) greeted me with a friendly smile. She walked me back to the first available room, which was just behind the receptionist's desk. She told me to make myself comfortable and even allowed me sufficient time to undress. Janet started with the sugar back scrub, which was awesome! I really couldn't believe how clean my back felt after the sugar back scrub. When Janet was done with the sugar back scrub, she wiped down my back with a warm wash cloth. Janet then continued onto the Swedish massage, which lasted about 50-55 minutes. The massage given by Janet was seriously the BEST massage I've ever had. She got out all of my knots while managing to keep me relaxed. When Janet was done, she took another warm wash cloth and wiped down my feet and hands. When I got dressed, she was at the door with a cup of water. Overall - I was highly satisfied and would recommend Tao Wellness Center, especially Janet!

However, midway through, my masseuse began coughing off and on for about five minutes straight and never paused to wash her hands or use hand sanitizer, which made me feel uncomfortable. For my first appointment, I booked a one hour massage online and also called the front desk to confirm everything in advance. I arrived on time, completed all new client paperwork, and waited about 15 minutes in the lobby. After that, I was told they could not locate my massage therapist and I would not be seen. No real solution was offered at the time, only an apology and a note that they would add something to my file for a complimentary upgrade in the future. I left feeling like my time had been completely wasted. Despite this, I decided to give them another chance because I was experiencing back pain and they are one of the closest locations to me. Before booking again, I personally spoke with the front desk, explained my prior experience, and was reassured. I was apologized to and offered a complimentary upgrade, so I scheduled a second appointment. Today, I received a call just 10 minutes before my appointment saying the massage therapist was unavailable and I could not be serviced. This was essentially a repeat of the same issue, despite prior communication and confirmation. At this point, it feels like there is a serious scheduling and communication problem within this business. Two confirmed appointments, two last minute cancellations, and significant time wasted both days. I expected professionalism and reliability, especially after giving a second chance, but unfortunately that was not my experience.
