Even with the unorganized entry procedures and rising…read moreprices, we have stuck with them and even started bringing another group with us to both their summer and winter events. The 2022 winter beerfest was cancelled and rescheduled to spring due to Covid. I get that. What is reprehensible is their customer service. The person monitoring their Facebook page told me to email and three emails and almost 3 weeks later they just ignore all my emails. You think maybe by now they'd have a procedure, but clearly what they intend to do is keep everyone's money whether they can attend on the new date or not and can't even face their customers. Great business practices. Photos below show messages are being received in messenger. What a bunch of asshats. I'm not the only one they are blowing off. Search the comment sections of their event. Just know in advance what kind of people you are doing business with.

This was my first Beerfest. I cannot believe that I actually purchased the tickets blindly. I…read moresearched and searched but could not find anything on the web to explain to me exactly what I was getting myself into. The Beerfest website that was up was ridiculously vague. But, I thought my boyfriend would really enjoy the event just by the name alone. And, he did! We really had a good time and I do believe that it was well worth the $35 ticket price for the beer tasters! Now, here is what I don't feel was worth it. I was the Designated Driver. I paid $15 for my ticket and I received a $5 voucher for food and beverage to be used at some specific food stand. Never did figure out which one or ones that I could use my voucher. Then, I wanted a soft pretzel at some point in the night and the pretzel alone was $5.25. Doesn't quite make the $5 voucher I received seem worth it. I just don't understand the purpose of paying $15 to get in to an event in which I was just paying for the atmosphere basically. Which was extremely loud and somewhat unorganized. I think the planning could have been better. I wanted a t-shirt from the event, but they were out of every size but medium by the time we found where we could purchase them. And, I too walked through some hellacious beer farts! Whew! I honestly believe with a little more "perks" for Designated Drivers and a little more organization and planning that this event could be one of the most popular and profitting events in Columbus!! And next year, we're going to be purchasing the VIP tickets to get a nicer, glass souvenir cup and making some of our own nifty pretzel necklaces!!

Less pretense, more affordability, less crowds, and easier parking. Sure its still got the same nasty fair-food and sure there isn't enough shade, but that is of little concern when browsing the top quality art at relatively bargain basement prices (compare this festival to Columbus, Ann Arbor, Black Swamp, Birmingham.....enough said on prices.) If I had only one complaint it would simply be to make the event more than one day so that those with family engagements for Labor day would have a chance to visit on Sunday.

It has two or three stages with a lot of local bands and some bigger bands who had been popular. There's overpriced beer but there's lots of food trucks. I went both nights of it this year. If you go earlier a lot of the vendors won't be open yet. There's a $5 cover after 7. It allows you into any of the bars. Of course, the bars on Park Street suck ass. Another annoying thing is the cost of beers. They have that stupid ticket system. For $6 you get one ticket. You get 5 tickets for $25. A 16 oz. Blue Moon or a 20 oz. Miller Lite is one ticket. That's crazy. Instead of this have the cocktails. These were two tickets each for a 32 oz. bucket of margarita, rum punch, or vodka punch. I would go again to hang out. It's not the best festival but it's a nice preview of the better ones. There's lots of food trucks with plenty of vegetarian choices so it has something else other than overpriced beer or bands to watch.

Headed by Ohio State Students for Sensible Drug Policy, It begins I believe at about 2pm and lasts till about midnight every year. It is filled with local bands that are either bands you really like or you just don't. Located on the south oval there are 2 stages, a dj tent, vendors with some really neat stuff much like ComFest in gooddale park, and possibly some of the most friendly faces around the area. With such an enormous following of people that flock to the area, it is one of the only festivals that gives a "hemp friendly" name to the greater columbus area. Aside from the hippies, it is a really nice event to have because like Comfest, it brings all the columbus community together. For starters, the lineup was fire. You can't go wrong with RL Grime and Rezz. If you're into this type of music, you knew the moment you purchased your tickets that you were in for an awesome night. While last year was my first time going, I've seen lineups from previous years and it appears they always do a pretty good job at getting good music there. The location of this fest is at the fairgrounds, directly off interstate 71, near OSU campus. This means that getting dropped off, picked up, or parking isn't too terrible. Because I live close by, my friends decided to uber there and walk home. While it was a cold walk, this did prevent us from being stuck in traffic. That's always something to consider planning out ahead of time. As for the space itself, there's some Halloween decorations, some food options, a few water stations, and a couple vendors. The stage itself was a good size and once in the crowd you pretty much forgot you were inside... Except that you're warm. The sound was great, the lights were awesome, and restrooms weren't too difficult. While I'm sad that Haunted Fest 2020 wasn't a thing, I do look forward to going again in the future.

The crowd can vary pretty greatly, but with Ohio State being just blocks away I would say it's usually filled with college students. Only concern is the wait to get inside is outside the expo center. Last year it rained pretty heavy which was a big downer, especially with how cold Ohio can get end of October.
