If I could give a below 0 review I would. The way they treated my mother was appalling. After sitting in the lobby waiting for over an hour. We got back in line to ask about her appointment, "they missed filed it." We were then told, we would be called "next." Wrong again. Finally, were brought into a room. Were asked about a long list of medications she was not prescribed, and then told she needed another xray. The xray was completed the last week in June. The appointment was just a mandatory pre-op information session. And, yes, we are still currently waiting. After witnessing the way they have treated my mother, I will be looking for treatment elsewhere. read more

I would rate the doctors here at 5 stars as they do fantastic work. The problem isn't the doctors, it's the administration. They move people through too fast and they won't even send bills anymore. If you can't figure out "portal" nonsense then your only option is to physically go there, talk to billing, and find out how much you owe. Definitely not approachable for us older folks. read more

A few years ago I went to COG for knee issues and was circulated through Dr.s (4 aapproximately), MRIs, X-Rays etc., etc. WOW, extremely expensive. I went back to my GP and she said one sentence to me. I followed the comment and my knees ache only a couple of times a year. I am now experiencing severe neck pain. Somedays not even able to turn my head. I went back to them. Ugh. Saw a surgeon 3 times which added up to a total of 9 1/2 minutes. Introduced himself cold and sterile each time. I got curious and read notes to see the justification for the high bills. Age wrong Medications inaccurate Spoke of website I was referred to (didn't happen) Regimen of vitamins recommended (not at my appointment) Next step, see another doctor "in house". I've had 5 surgeries done by doctors here. I couldn't say enough good things about Dr. Bormann (shoulder surgeries) or Dr. Krautman (foot surgery) however, I have been treated by several others which I found less desirable. Bear in mind that these are highly trained people who are under an extreme amount of pressure to perform well. I had two hip replacements by Dr. Buchert which are fine. One has dislocated twice, but I'm not sure I would blame the surgeon for that. It could've been a defective hip joint, considering it was 11 years ago. Overall I've decent experiences. read more

This place is a production line factory. I chose Dr Brian Kleiber because he was a foot specialist. This was my 5th surgery on the foot which was crushed 35 years ago. This was by far the worst outcome. The surgeons in Mexico where the accident happened did a great job. However over the years bones have shifted. I believe he did not understand what needed to be done because he didn't listen to me After the surgery I questioned why my problem was not corrected. His nurse told me he did NOT do the type of surgery to correct the problem I presented with. It's one year post surgery. I am in constant pain and my foot is in worst shape than when I first visited him. Also, he deflected my questions. When I asked if I would need PT after the surgery, he laughed and said "why". When I asked him a specific question about my surgery he responded' "I don't know. They all just blend together." I am considering another surgery (different surgeon) to correct what he messed up. read more

Oh, I highly recommend Columbia orthopedic. Every one of the doctors in there are super and I've had my two knee surgeries and a shoulder surgery and I haven't had any problems. Every one of them are great and they know in our comfort tent on knowing what they're doing thank you read more

I recently was watching YouTube and was amazed to see a commercial for Dr Jenkins at Columbia Orthopedic Group . I have had the worst experience in my entire life with this doctor at this facility. I had three visits with him that lasted a total of 9 and 1/2 minutes . This included him introducing himself each time as if he had never met me before . Once I discontinued my services I had seen him for and gone to get a second opinion because of how I was treated there I entered the portal and began to read the documentation from each visit . As I stated earlier he spent an average of 3 minutes with me each visit . I was surprised to see on his portal and his documentation it contained extremely long notes with a vitamin regimen and discussions he had had with me . Completely false! Being in the medical field I was quite surprised that a doctor would not document the correct notes of a visit, these notes were impossible to have been given to me considering I was given 3 minutes per visit . I then decided to get a second opinion once I was disgusted by what I had read. This neurosurgeons physicians assistant made it quite clear to me within 5 minutes my neck was in severely bad shape and I should have received surgery years ago . I now have surgery scheduled in a couple of months . I have not had the experience of a 3-minute visit from a doctor who documented incorrectly what happened each visit . It is my full opinion to stay as far away from Dr Jenkins at Columbia Orthopedic Group as necessary . read more

I have been seeing Dr Pompliano for awhile. At my appointment in June he advised me to get all of my medical records and imaging as I am moving out of the country. I filled the necessary form on June 23, 2025. Told to call ShareCare records for any further help. I have called them 4 times since then. I've been told that they were mailed on 7/12. I received disc with medical records (I hope that's what is on the disc). I never received imaging disc. Next call- not picked up by courier. Next call- no tracking number found and will reprocess and send to receive 5-12 days. Now September 10 and have never received. I am moving in 2 weeks so no longer have time to get them. Columbia Orthopedic Group need to follow up on the companies they contract with! This medical records company is absolutely horrible!! Now I end up going out of the country with significant back issues and no imaging films or reports to show them! Thanks for NOTHING!! read more

I've used this group several times and they have always helped whatever I've gone for. I've never had to wait a long time for an appointment and the doctors are very knowledgeable. The last one I saw was Matt Thornberg and he was great. Very professional and kind. If I need them, I'll definitely go back. read more

Newton was very hurtful to me. Lacks empathy and is very abrasive and hard to deal with. He accused me of being a no show. Then told me he would never see me again. I've never not shown to my appointments and the one time he's referring to I called the appointment line and left a voicemail to cancel so apparently someone didn't do their job or it was accidentally deleted however, Newton basically said I was lying because they didn't have record of it. I cried the whole way home to Jeff because he made me feel so uncomfortable and so small, then I finally realized I didn't do anything wrong and he's the problem! Will never be back to Newton again! Which I guess he'll be happy about! read more

Nothing but great things to say about this group! I have always found everyone courteous, caring , professional and have received expert care from the doctors there. I have not heard any complaints from anyone in my group of family or friends about their care at COG. read more

So far, my experience has been underwhelming. My mother was referred to COG by the Boone Hospital EF after falling and breaking her hand. It was Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. when I called for an appointment. The phone robot said they closed at 4:30, and I would have to call back Monday. The letter written by a COG doctor given to me at the hospital said the COG office was open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., so I called at 7:45 a.m. Monday morning. The phone recording, however, said their office was closed and only open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. So I called while in the car on my way to work from about 8:20 to 8:40 a.m. Nobody ever answered the phone. Then, as I was parking at work, somebody from COG was calling me, so I hung up and tried to answer it, but missed them. They wound up leaving a message that they set up an appointment 10 days from now, which seems like an excessive wait. It's confusing when they can't seem to keep track of their own hours. So I will wait to pass ultimate judgment until we actually get an appointment. read more

I went in for a consultation with Dr. Anz today for a possible hip replacement. I was so very impressed! He took his time, really got to know me, actually SHOWED me my MRI images, and spent over 30 minutes with me. His assistants are equally awesome! We decided to try changing my everyday mobility, and trying medication for a few weeks. Very conservative. And... he listens. Not your regular doctor! read more

They were all rude and didn't give 2 $#!its about you ---from the rude receptionist--- to the rude MRI techs --to the physician who blew off my pain, and never made eye contact, and was in&out in 5 minutes! Everyone at Columbia Orthopedic ground were helpful and professional-with the exception of Dr. Miles. He spent less than 5 minutes with me, dismissed my pain and even shrugged his shoulders, basically said you are too fat and need pain management. I agree with those last two, but his total disregard of what I have been recently going through is nothing short of total incomitance! I had the onset of severe back pain for uncertain reasons. I called and got into the orthopedic surgeon on call, Dr. Shawn Sahota. He was very nice, did a thorough exam and explained things well. He went through the x-rays and explained why I needed some back exercises for a herniated disc. Everything was very professional and quick. read more

Dr kleiber was wonderful with my family but the fact we could not reach him after surgery and continually got sent to the nurse practitioner and could not retain a call back from him was highly frustrating the nurse practitioner seems very callous and uncaring their unaccommodating to the fact of Transportation when someone cannot drive after surgery and expect you to show up within a couple of hours to be seen although we love the doctor and think that he done a great job we probably will not be returning due to the nurse practitioner and lack of ability to reach the doctor read more

Make sure you do the front office and nurses job for them when going. My pediatrician sent over an X-ray of my child's right knee that shows a bump on bone from a few years ago. My child's father took her to the apt I scheduled to do a follow up X-ray to see if we need to remove the bump due to pain still. They relied on my 5 year old to explain where the pain was that is lower right calf - from the bump on her knee that shows in the previous X-ray. And since her dad didn't have details and the "appointment ladies" don't take notes or explain why I made the appointment, they took X-rays of the calf that "looked fine". Well duh because the bump is on the knee if you would have looked at the X-ray you would have put two and two together. The doctor Thornburg is extremely nice I spoke with him on the phone, he just doesn't have the best prep team to prep him for walking into an apt. If a 5 year old is complaining of right leg pain and has a previous x ray showing a bump on the right knee you don't ignore the previous X-ray. Complete waste of money. Especially for the nurse to tell me well sorry the dad should have said knee not shin. So make sure you do the nurse and front office person job for them. read more

This morning I called Columbia Orthopaedic Group and since it's Sunday, I got the message to call Boone Hospital Center for the doctor on call. The doctor I got was Dr. Jason Koreckij. I told him what was wrong with my mother's knee after receiving a gel injection a few days ago. She is in excruciating pain. I asked for advice, I asked if he has heard of this side effect. When his reaction was "I don't know what you want me to do" and further more stated "do you want me to work magic over the phone?" This made me feel hopeless and like my mother was just another paid bill in their office. I do not recommend them to anyone. Going into their office is like waiting in an airport terminal. Hundreds of patients just passing through as numbers on a board. Like they aren't even human. If the doctor isn't willing to give advice or at least some kind of comfort as to his experience with this in the past, then he should not be the doctor on call. My mother leaves to morrow for her first vacation in 20 years after taking care of my sick father and I don't know how to help her. My father passed away and she's finally going to a vacation, in pain. I will take her to the ER. But the reaction from the doctor on call was so mean. read more

Do not go to Dr. Kleiberg! He left me with such nerve damage after a tib/fib repair that I am in pain 24/7. My life is miserable now, I am in constant pain. I was told one thing by his assistant and then chastised the next appointment for following her instructions. I have dealt with this group three times, one good experience ( Dr. Oliver) and two horrible, Dr. Klierbeg and Dr. Thornburg who didn't even x-ray my broken shoulder and just sent me to physical therapy). I will never go back to this group! read more

The downstairs runs super efficiently. I came in early because my prior appointment finished quicker than anticipated. They got me in right away! Went upstairs, an HOUR before my scheduled appointment. Figured I'd probably have to wait until at least my scheduled time. It's now an hour later and I'm still waiting. 1 of the 3 doctors I've dealt with here have any sort of decent bedside manner. The other 2 act as if you're bothering them, and they'd rather be anywhere else. This is absolutely ridiculous, and I will do my best to avoid this hellhole in the future. read more

I've been going to Columbia Orthopedic group for close to 20 years, and have had to wait a few times for an hour or so , but that is to be expected when you go to a Dr's office that is as busy as they are ( if they weren't good they wouldn't be busy ! ) , overall I'm very happy with the care I've received from the different Dr's I've seen their and all the staff , no matter how hard the Dr's and staff try you can't always please everyone and anyone that has ever worked by appointments knows that it isn't always possible to keep on schedule read more

My son (who has a broken elbow) and I arrived before the requested time for check in. I went up to the desk because we have been sitting here for 45 min passed our appt. time. We were told they are running behind. When asked why are people that had arrived way past us were getting in within 5 min. they looked at me like I was stupid. Now we are some of the last in the waiting area with no end in sight. I am watching people leave that got here 20 min or so after us. read more

The care my wife received at Columbia Orthopedic was great. The problem is if you are going to be an 'in network" facility then everything under the roof should be in network. We should not be getting a bill from Mid Missouri Anesthesiologist for the exact dollar amount list on the insurance statement as "Plan Discount"! Oh, here's your discount, we'll just bill you for that later. You do all your home work to figure out how much a procedure is going to cost only to get a surprise bill from another provider that should have been covered. read more

This review is for Dr. James Newton, Pain Management Specialist. We were so disappointed with the visit to Dr Newton. He entered the room without having reviewed my mother's medical conditions, prescriptions, or previous doctor reports. He said he had looked at her imaging, but I'm not sure if they were even the latest images which were provided with the other items listed above. He proceeded to make recommendations that were not appropriate given her history, conditions, and medications. He made no effort to become acquainted with the patient's case, despite being handed everything on a silver plate from the patient and previous physicians. This was, in my opinion, very disrespectful and dangerous. My mother left with a prescription for a muscle relaxant. It was a complete waste of time for all concerned, including Dr Newton. If he had simply taken a little time to become familiar with her case, he might have been able to help her. It seemed like he didn't have his head in the game, as he asked the same litany of questions that his assistant had just asked, before he finally entered the room. Did I mention that my mother also had to wait more than an hour to be seen. We are searching for a new pain management specialist and I fear that we will have to travel all the way to St. Louis to find a truly professional specialist, the kind my mother is accustomed to seeing. Mid-Missouri deserves better. read more

Worst appointment I have ever had in my life. Before I even arrived I had to call 3 times just to get my patient information correct in their system, which was just my name, email address, and date of birth. It was input incorrectly multiple times and I was therefore prevented from accessing the patient portal on their website so I could provide my medical history until I had spent the morning calling the office over and over to resolve the issue. When I arrived for my appointment the particular doctor I saw (Dr. Robert Gaines) had a horrendous attitude. He spoke to me as if I was an absolute idiot. The first words out of his mouth were sarcastic, "so you're dying, huh?". I asked him what he meant and he said that based on the information I had provided in the patient portal regarding the locations and severity of my pain I must be dying. I just said "I'm not dying, I'm just in a lot of pain". I had recent trauma to my back (I'm a horse trainer and was thrown) that has rendered me barely capable of walking and have a history of back problems prior to this, as well as family history of similar back issues. He didn't question me about my medical history at all, though I had included it in my notes I filled out in their patient portal online. He made the diagnosis that I was just "banged up"purely based on observation, without looking at x-rays I had done at urgent care when the accident had originally happened, without doing any diagnostic procedures (x-rays or an MRI, which had been recommended to me by urgent care if the condition worsened, which it had) other than observing me bending and walking. He did, however, suggest that I withdraw from my university and go home so my parents could take care of me until the pain subsides. I told him that sure as hell wasn't going to happen because I'm graduating in 3 weeks and am not about to withdraw from my university based on a diagnosis that I'm "banged up" without any substantiating diagnostics this close to graduation. I asked if there was anything we could do for treatment other than bed rest (stretches, physical therapy exercises, ANYTHING) and he just repeated that I should withdraw from my university and "soak in a hot tub" until I feel better. He wrote me a prescription for tylenol with codeine for pain (which apparently was incompletely written or had an error because even THAT was problematic. The pharmacy had to call their office because there was a problem with the prescription when I went to get it filled and had to wait an additional hour and a half for them to get it sorted out) and sent me home. Never have I had a worse experience with a doctor in my life. He was sarcastic, rude, and wholly unhelpful. I really wish I had been more clear headed during this appointment. I was on muscle relaxers that had been prescribed by urgent care and was therefore a bit unfocused and unable to call him out on his rude behavior. I just sat there completely dumbfounded and shocked by his attitude. What a jerk! I wouldn't go back to this place if my life depended on it. UPDATE: 2+ years later I still have chronic sciatica and inflammation/pain in my SI joint, though I am able to do all my normal activities with nearly a full range of motion. Pain fluctuates from a 2 to 6 out of 10 depending on the day. After my horrible experience with this doctor I found another who was much more helpful. He got me into physical therapy and gave me a corticosteroid injection into my SI joint. I also saw a chiropractor for quite some time. I spent my last month of college doing my schoolwork from home and managed to graduate as I had planned. I'm trying to manage the chronic pain problems with stretching/PT exercises and chiropractors. Hopefully it will continue to improve over time :/ read more

Five weeks ago, I received a partial knee replacement and today, except for some slight expected swelling and occasional stiffness, it feels very much normal and like my own. I'm also now walking 2-miles a day or more without pain. I am convinced that the success I've experienced is because of the skill and experience of my surgeon (Dr. Hockman), all the very professional staff, and the up-to-date facilities at The Columbia Orthopedic Group. Before deciding to have my surgery, I was apprehensive and did much research to ensure I was having it done at the right place. The results prove that I chose correctly and I now look forward to many years of normal mobility. Thank you to all the people that made my repair so successful. I took my dad here for an appointment a few weeks ago. The facility itself is pretty new (built within the last couple of years) and is set up with onsite surgical capabilities. It's a huge upgrade from when the group handled my own back surgery about 15 years ago. The waiting area in the main lobby looked nice, but we headed straight down to radiology. The waiting area was smaller, but nicely furnished. The nurses were friendly and helpful. We had a moderate wait because it was fairly busy, but we were in to see the doctor within 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment time. The doctor was very friendly and solicitous and waited patiently while my dad discussed his back problems. We were helped and out the door about 30 minutes after the appointment started. This medical group and location has the potential to be a four-star service, but I do not have enough experience to say it is anything more than okay. read more

The nurses and administrative staff are very polite and friendly. However, the 2 doctors (one was Dr. Carter) I saw did not leave me feeling confident in my diagnosis or recovery. I went for a thumb injury and I thought I had a torn ligament. Dr. Carter ordered x-rays and said ligament tore and chipped my bone. I was sent home with a thumb brace and was told it needed 8 weeks. Though I followed his instructions, it is now 5 months after the injury and my thumb is still in pain and I have lost range of motion. During my follow up visits a couple of months back, he said it looked fine and it was healing slowly. It's not fine because my thumb still hurts and it's crooked. I feel like I wasted money going there :( read more

My husband and I have trusted Columbia Orthopedia for many years. We have always been very pleased and cared for very well until just recently. We could not believe the treatment we were given. This was with Dr. Koreckij and his nurse Starla Lancaster. They were so unprofessional and really did not fit this facility. I do not want to mention the poor treatment we were given. However, I don't want others to experience such rudeness. I am just sad that they are apart of this clinic. Everyone had always been so kind and pleasant but not here. I know there are wonderful doctors, but we were not aware of this particular doctor. As far as knowledge of this doctor, I would rate him a 5. DO NOT visit him. You just could be disappointed. read more
