This campground (specifically site #13) was very nice. Ok, first off, it is a campground. It is not a hike in and pitch your tent kind of deal. It is a drive up and pitch your tent not too far from you car kind of deal. We stayed at site #13 and our friends stayed at #14. #14 was big which was good as they had 5 people in their party. #13 is pretty small, but there is a secret to that site. When we first drove up to it and saw the picnic table and fire pit and the small space for the tent we thought meh. Been here done this, but here is the secret. The secret is that there is a path just beyond the fire pit that will take you about 15 seconds to wind down. That will take you to a very quiet and secluded open area just above Still Creek where you can pitch your tent. Still Creek will be flowing through your sleep all night long. It did for us for 2 glorious nights. If you can get site #13 go for it. You will not be disappointed.

Enjoyed our time in the cabin and loved the soaking tub on the back patio, with the view of the river. We did hear quite a few trains go by throughout the night and morning. Was not a fan of the cabin above us (cabin 7 I think?). They had tons of kids running around and up and down the stairs making it hard for us to enjoy and relax. Lots of thuds and thumping and super inconsiderate to us below them. The neighbor right next to us had a dog with them that kept barking when we were using the soaking tub, so we didn't get to use it very long the evening we got there, but we were able to enjoy it early in the morning because the dog was quiet and did not continue to bark. Loved that there was a small record player in the cabin, but wish there was a bigger selection of records in the room and the lounge area. We did really like how close it was to all the breweries and restaurants. Would love to come back with friends next time!

People walking through the campsite at all hours of the night thinking it wasn't a site as it isn't clearly visible that it is. So if you don't want that don't get one directly next to the restrooms, but if you are a people person and enjoy talking that would be a great spot if you're disabled. This year for July 4th we found a better site a bit farther away because of my dog. There are lots of trees and great water access for fishing and swimming. A very family friendly place! On the day after July 4th, the local fire department goes through the campground and hands out stuff for the children. It was fun watching before we had to leave . This was a great place to camp to get away from the noise of fireworks too. I definitely will be camping here in the future! Cons: no showers and bring a roll of toilet paper with you in case there isn't any in the restroom in the middle of the night

They communicated really well from the start, when I booked the rental months in advance. And it's only a few minutes drive to town for groceries or other necessities. This specific dwelling is extremely private, simply surrounded by trees and nature. The parking space allowed for easy access to the treehouse entrance, and it was absolutely stunning inside. Plenty of seating options for lounging in the living area, as well as outdoors on the balcony. A kitchen with dishes and paper towels, we were able to put together a nice dinner on Saturday evening. There was also a firepit outside, but no cooking inside the treehouse, just a microwave. There were plenty of plush towels in the bathroom, and the bed in the loft was soft and comfy (a ladder leading to the upper level). They had an in-wall AC unit, central heating, as well as portable heaters and fans throughout, making it convenient to reach a comfortable temperature in any room. And they also offered board games such as scrabble, wine-opoly, and conversation starter card decks, which seem ideal for couples. We enjoyed TwoSome, a game where we win together or lose together. Seriously, this was a good one (though it was missing one card). Even though they don't offer wifi service here, we had no problems accessing the internet on our phones during our stay (T mobile). And it's only a 2-3 minute walk to the river, just over the train tracks, the area peaceful and gorgeous, with magnificent views, and the water a lovely temperature for swimming. I was enamored with the whole experience, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing getaway.

Part of the reason we selected Sandhill is because they are pet-friendly. We will definitely return because they are people friendly too! The cottages are rustic but well-cared for. I spent most of the weekend in a comfy papasan chair on the front porch of our cottage, with the pooch and a book. We saw Kelly's sign and went in and asked if they had rooms available. It's not the place I'd choose as a romantic getaway, but it is pleasant and pretty and very well kept. And they have dogs, which immediately endeared me to the place. Kelly Enochs and wife Marilyn run a nice little B&B here. We didn't see much of Marilyn (although her pressed-flower art decorates the place) but Kelly was very chatty, perhaps almost too much so. I'm sure one craves company when you run a B&B out in the woods and it's off-season! Location is great: right on a creek, right off the main road, on a side road that leads out into the 'country' (nice for walking or morning runs). There is a nice sitting room downstairs with a very good library of outdoors-related books. The antique couch is pretty but not the most comfortable. Kelly has a large collection of music and is a big music fan ... and will tell you all about it if you're interested. Our room (Creekside - a double upstairs; see photos) was large and comfortable. We had to go around the corner outside to use the bathroom (sink, toilet, clawfoot tub), but there were no other guests, so that worked out fine. Kelly is also a coffee addict, so there WILL be a fresh pot waiting for you in the morning. Breakfast was good with plenty of food ... all the basics you would expect - something eggy, something bready, something sausagey, fruit, coffee & tea. All in all, a nice time, and I would go back if I were in the area.
