Dave and everyone at Colton is great. Their 'pick your own' option is perfect for us. We used to say the wood is a single match to get the fire going and that is still true, although now we use a small fire starter brick. The wood burns clean and hot.... I ran out of wood 3 years ago and was paying for those ridiculous little bundles. Found out I could go fill up my Forester in the middle of the heating season with Kiln fired - worked great and quality wood. Next year had it together to order a cord delivered. Perfect. We heat our house with wood in the winter and I've tried everything. Seasoned firewood, the various sawdust blocks (envi blocks, bio blocks, geo bricks)..etc. Nothing compares to the Kiln dried wood at Colton Enterprises. The wood is clean, dry and burns very well putting out a lot of heat. The sawdust blocks say a pallet is equivalent to a cord of wood, but I just don't find it heats as well since it would take so many bricks to fill my stove and they just don't heat it up enough. With Kiln dried wood, I can fill the stove completely and it will run for hours at a solid temp. I also like the fact you can have a cord delivered or if you need smaller amounts, just go and pick it up and pay by weight. read more

Incredibly rude owner. I called to schedule a delivery of wood and was told they couldn't deliver until the first week of December. I said that was fine. We discussed the kind and length of wood, so it was all set. I had someone hired to help me stack it so it was always a real thing. It's December 1st so I called to schedule the delivery. The owner said she never heard of me and I was on a waiting list of 300 people. I was never told I was on a waiting list and said that I should have been told because I would have made other plans. She said she was taking me off the list and hung up on me. Horrible woman. Go elsewhere if you can. read more
