Mine was in bad shape, Phil not only fixed it but told me what had caused the problems, told me what humidity the room should be kept at, 45-50% humidity incidentally, and told me about pros/cons of wood parts vs plastic parts, about the new carbon fibre parts that are machined with incredible precision, about the love he has for the history of piano construction and about a fascinating book he was currently reading about a traditional piano company. This is a man and a company you can trust with anything not just your piano. And my piano now? Amazing. It sounds beautiful. It sings! The action of the keys is amazing. I played for a long time after Phil left that day just marvelling at how wonderful it felt now. I really cannot recommend Metropolitan Piano Co enough.

Some models are not tuned properly to make them sound pretty bad relative to the more expensive ones.

The instructor (Ian?) and his assistant were patient, knowledgable, friendly and professional. They offered appropriate support throughout class to all students, the talented and the struggling ones equally :) It was little talk and a lot of hands-on (90% of the time). You get to practice with as many pieces of clay as you want, but you only keep your best two, which is plenty. The shed is an extremely cool, inspiring warehouse style workshop! I recommend the class for a single person, a date night, a family or a birthday party. I'll be going back for sure.

They were cute enough to make me learn to play and I imagine a lot of the business folk would be enticed into this wee music haven in North Sydney city. They do more than just sell instrument. They also do restrings, guitar services, setups, repairs of guitars and basses and amplifier repairs. Unless you're a guitar maestro or wannabe I wouldn't go in here for much else as guitars are certainly there forte.
