In pre-op when the RN was attempting to start an IV, she caused a venous rupture and had to start over in a different vein. They put me under during the procedure but had to take me out of anesthesia in the middle of the procedure because my O2 stats declined to 90%. They continued the procedure which means I felt everything they were doing in my bowels and the doctor wasn't gentle by any means. She knew that I was awake at this point. When they woke me up there were no reassuring words of comfort, I was just told to sit tight. I was so confused and had no idea where I was, I just felt a lot of pain as they continued the procedure. When I woke up, I was no longer receiving oxygen through the nasal cannula which is highly concerning. It was the most horrifying and painful experiences I have ever had and I will definitely not be going back.

The rectal exam was pure torture; he used something similar to the Kelly Proctoscope (blunt end, 50mm). He RAMMED the proctoscope in, no warning, no "take a deep breath"...nothing... my husband has a very high tolerance for pain, however he was in extreme agony with the pain this doctor was inflicting.  We couldn't leave fast enough. Thousands of dollars spent in medical bills for expensive tests and no results, no appointments, no follow up, no apology. Worst medical experience ever. I called every Gastroenterologist in Denver Metro and I couldn't even get an first visit until the 16th. I finally called down to Centura Gastroenterology Castle Rock, gave them my sob story, and got me in to see Dr. Welton immediately. Dr. Welton is the most empathetic yet direct, straight-shooter doctor I've ever seen. He sent me home with a script and scheduled a procedure to look at my gut/throat just for peace of mind on the 16th. After a day, my symptoms got much worse and I called Dr. Welton and told him how much pain I was in and he reworked his entire schedule to get my procedure moved up to March 4th so he could find out what's going on. Long story, short, I am ok and Dr. Welton has me on a plan for managing my health. He performed my operation to perfection and I had zero pain post-op, and my health got better after one day. Dr. Welton is worth the drive if you want to see a Gastroenterologist who knows that stuff and has a warm and confident heart to boot. Thank-you Dr. Welton!
