Unfortunately I went to her for hair highlights. I made appointment with her and confirmed she has burgundy hair color for my hair lights. When I went there....she did such a poor color, no where near burgundy (because she didn't have it and lied to me about it). I told her thin streaks for full highlights. Instead she did very big/broad highlights so she doesn't have to work much. After washing my hair she left for her another appointment.... Leaving me for an hour with a shower cap on my head. Finally when she comes back... I told her this is not the color I want. She starts blaming me instead. Lastly I told her to cut and leave my hair long. As I don't like short hair. Instead she gave me such a filthy hair color. It looks like bob cut. I'm hating myself and my decision to go to her. Please SAVE YOUR TIME EFFORT AND MONEY. DONT GO TO KIM EVER read more

This venue is clean, there's plenty of parking in the parking lot, and service is friendly. Recommend calling to make an appointment, but they accept walk-ins as well. Prices are very reasonable. This salon is a hidden gem! Paul Mitchell products! With amazingly caring stylists, some of whom have been here for 30 years! This was my childhood salon and we have stuck with them through different owners. The current owner Tam, does exquisite manicures and has added a real level of professionalism to the salon. It's definitely improved under her leadership. Seriously, all of the stylists are pretty awesome. Some specialize in doing hair for older women, you know, with rollers and major back combing! Men can be seen here as well! In fact every time I come in for a cut there's usually at least one man getting his hair did! But the best of the best is MY lovely stylist Najia. She is the sweetest woman and very talented. She also does facial waxing (only the face so no bikinis done here) so I usually combine an eyebrow wax with my cut and blow dry. She has a knack for knowing exactly how much I am willing to trim off to keep growing my hair and she recently helped me get back to my natural brunette color after going red. She's also amazing at up-dos! So if you have a fancy schmancy event, she's your gal! Here's the deal; Haircuts are $19! That's it! And you get a shampoo and I get long layers and it's a great cut!! A blow dry for long hair is $16, and $12 for short. It's only $10 to wax the eyebrows. A full dye for long hair is $55-$65 and to touch up roots it's $36. You're getting quality service and style for very affordable pricing. And they just added a spa pedicure station! So your toesies leave happy too! So it's truly a one-stop-shop!!! I've referred two friends here and they keep coming back. If you want Najia she only works on Fridays and Saturdays so be sure to call asap to her scheduled! I just moved to San Diego a week ago and finding a hair salon was really hard. I have a really hard time trusting people with my hair because it is so easy to mess up on blonde hair. I came in early and they squeezed me in before my hair apt so I could get my nails done. They turned out really good but they do not have very many shellac colors to choose from but it only cost $25 for a fill and shellac color so no complaints there! After I got my hair done I was very pleased with my color and the way they blended it together. My hair only cost $60 for all over blonde root touch up. I would of liked more product in my hair so that it felt more smooth but you can't complain for paying 60 bucks for blonde hair in San Diego. I'm from Portland, Oregon where my hair cost at least 120 because it's so thick. They were all so nice and friendly so I would definitely recommend going there. read more

I have always pass by this place whenever I am in the area but truly did not pay too much attention to it before. However, when my stylist Rose Nguyen transferred here, I obviously followed her and what a nice change of scenery I should say. I will keep on going back to Rose for all my hair cuts and color needs regardless of the salon she is at but Colorations is really nice compared to other neighboring salons in the area. It has adequate floor space so it doesn't feel so congested inside. Staff are nice and the salon is bright, clean, and inviting! No hideous posters on the salon glass windows which I really like! Overall the salon space is really great! They offer nail and facial/body services too. Going back to my ever so talented stylist Rose Nguyen, I have been seeing her for a year now and am completely happy and satisfied. She is detail oriented with her work, personable, and looks out for her clients overall being without overstepping her limits or being too personal. I went here for the first time last month. I needed a quick haircut and the place was great. I was 4th in line, but I only waited 5 minutes. The person who cut my hair asked me what type of cut I wanted and then offered me a free wash for being a first time customer. The cut looked good and the person didn't mind that I asked them to cut the back a little shorter. So I called to get an appt. No problem. Asked for a price estimate. Was told $19 for the cut and $29 for the color. Great right? Ready for me when I got there. We discussed length and color and thought we had an understanding. 1st problem was "short in the back and angled to longer in the front" translated to "short in the back and even to it in the front".oh well it will grow out. 2nd problem when finished the cost was amazingly $80 last time I checked that is not total of 19+29. Oh well its done just gotta pay. 3rd problem it's been a week and now my roots are turning orange!!!!!it wasn't like this when I left the shop so you would think they would want to see what happened so I called. 4th problem - her answer was sorry you asked to have it not too dark but if you want to come back in we can charge you to fix it. WOW! So getting an appt + great, getting what you asked for - fail, standing behind a price quote - fail, customer service - fail, standing behind their product/service - fail.
