Hospice review We…read moreare so pleased that we chose the Collier hospice for my mother's end of life care. She had a wonderful nurse, Ann, while she was at home. She visited weekly and helped my mother adjust to the end of life. As her care became more involved Ann was there each step of the way supporting my mother and our family. I have never med someone who was so kind and understanding and competent. Finally My mother had to spend her final days in-patient at their facility. She raved over how quiet and beautiful it was. Again the staff was so very kind and supportive of both my mother and our family. The Chaplin was very helpful with family dynamics. Even the chief was wonderful, providing her with warm chocolate chip cookies which gave her much enjoyment in her final days. What a gift it was to have this organization available to care for my mother and our family at this hard time. As a retired nurse I am picky and could not fina any fault, just very competent care! I can not recommend this hospice more. 100/100.

My point of contact, Josh, was consistently professional, proactive, courteous, and helpful -- guiding me through each step with compassion and clarity. Ashley, the Head RN, demonstrated not only exceptional medical knowledge but also genuine warmth and empathy. She didn't just supervise the team -- she was right there alongside the CNAs, delivering hands-on care with the same dedication and heart. She always listened and answered every question with patience, offered support, prepared me for the changes ahead, and -- most importantly -- treated Vera with the utmost dignity and respect she deserved. The CNAs were equally remarkable -- caring, attentive, and loving in every interaction. They, as with Ashley, were always punctual and lit up the room with their positive, loving energy, which on many occasions prompted Vera to share a long-hidden smile of happiness and sometimes even an enthusiastic "hi!" They perform a much-needed but often thankless job, yet they do it with constant love, care, and concern. Over the course of seven months, with multiple visits each week, supportive friendships developed -- not only with me, but also with my Doberman, Cheyenne, who was coping with her own sadness and fear from Vera's illness. The NP actually said there wasn't evidence of cognitive decline after their first meeting where my mother only remembered one surgery, forgetting a mastectomy and having hardware put into a broken arm. We get vitals and prescriptions and that's it. We are not supported in her dementia journey at all. By this point we should have a diagnosis as to her type of dementia and possibly resources to help manage it. None of that has been made available to us. Her blood pressure is good though.

The experience and attention to detail you all provided helped get us through this incredibly challenging experience and begin the healing process. Do you really wanna entrust your loved ones with a a facility that is undergoing mass layoffs and…read morewhen they aren't, have new hire pools of 20+ due the the constant turn and churn this facility undergoes that I witnessed firsthand. They can't keep talent and the people they do keep are abrasive, refuse to listen to technical staff, and literally have to be taught how to use basic computing functions. New hires on multiple occasions needed taught how to type exclamation marks so they could enter their basic passwords. Nurses themselves tell me they are only here until they can find higher paying more lucrative jobs at non Hospice facilities and the turnover rates validate this.

My mother with dementia ended up going to an emergency room, and then immediately to a memory care facility. Regardless of the fact that we did not see this coming, extended family home care continued to bill for 2 weeks worth of services which was about 1,200+ only because they were not notified of cancelling services. We had two other home care agencies providing services and neither one of them had this unethical billing policy. On top of that, some of the caregivers did not seem to provide quality care. And also had inconsistent caregiving services, with some cancelling last minute or did not even had the right skill level to care for my mother.

For more than…read morea year, they provided progressively more care as his condition deteriorated and were always considerate and sensitive. Tami was particularly skilled and was very caring. Early on, there was one caregiver who wasn't very motivated but when this was brought to management's attention, a different caregiver was sent and she was much better. The care provided allowed my father to live at home until he went to hospice. I appreciated the service provided by Visiting Angels.
