Another update is they really need to refresh the counseling dept. I've never been ignored so much in my life as I have been by these counselors. I've also heard my kids and their friends say the same kinds of things. They are just not good. If your kid is a go getter, they will do well at East. But I think all types of kids need attention and help too, and the quiet ones fall through the cracks here. Again, something I've dealt with in our family as well as hearing it from other families.

Very disappointed in the way that Mike Davis and the Board have dealt with COVID. While other local…read moreschools are normalizing, they are telling parents that kids will be wearing masks and social distancing when school begins in August, 2021. By then, most high-risk folks will have been vaccinated. But, CA continues to put the needs of others over the social and emotional wellbeing of their students. There's talk that the kids will be able to "vaccinate their way out of wearing masks and social distancing in the fall." Some parents are not interested in this possibility until more information about vaccinating younger people becomes known. If you don't want to vaccinate your younger students, I'd look into another school.

I would strongly recommend thinking twice before sending your child to Lake Middle School…read more the school does not handle bullying problems well. There were repeated fights and conflicts between students, yet the student who was being targeted or hurt was not given the support they needed Instead it could feel like the person responsible was being defended or given more consideration than the victim. There is favoritism from both teachers and deans. It was frustrating to see situations handled differently depending on which student was involved. Students deserve to feel safe at school and should be able to report bullying without feeling like nothing is going to change. I would not choose this school for my child.

It's 7th-12th and in 7th grade those who…read morewent to Denison will already have friends there and won't really branch out until around the end of the year leaving those who did not go to Denison sometimes feel left out. The teachers tend to be republican along with many of the students however very few teachers make their views known to students besides the occasional slip up. The teachers for 7th and 8th are not the best but after that it tends to get better. One problem some might have is the closed campus. While there being a closed campus on its own is not bad the food there isn't good at all. Your only option to get a good meal is to make your own lunch and bring it to school but that isn't always an option. Also if you want to be able to spend time with your child then don't send them to develyn as the work load is over the top with the principal saying that 3 hours of homework should be the norm. Overall, if your child does not cope with stress well do not send them here. In the end I don't think that this school is right for most people.

Under the nurturing and inspiring guidance of Mrs. Mari Koester and Mrs. Sarah Perez, we've had the joy of watching our boys grow not only academically, but also socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Their reading and math skills have exceeded our expectations, but just as importantly, they've developed confidence, compassion, and a genuine love of learning. Entrusting your child's education is one of the most important decisions a parent can make--and for our family, there is simply no other place we would consider. You can tell that the entire staff, including the principal, Dr. Barnard, genuinely cares and wants your child to succeed. St. John's offers a truly holistic approach that honors the whole child, and we're deeply grateful to be part of such a thoughtful and enriching environment!

To which they would respond "I'm not even thinking of finishing high school." or "I don't want to go to college, Ill work fast food somewhere." The drive from many students was sadly quite low and it affected many students around them. I also thought it was very odd when I had a history class taught by 3 different teachers. One teaching in Spanish, the next Arabic, then the final one in English. It was quite distracting and was an inefficient way to teach. I transferred out after a semester.

I'm a senior at North High School, and I've attended the school for all four years. I want to say…read morethat this school was the worst choice . The staff, education, and overall experience were horrible. This school has so many problems, and I want to start with the staff. They're all lazy and lack the specific intelligence needed for their jobs. They have told my parents that they were too busy to help my younger brother be able to graduate. This is stupid, as they have a designated time called office hours to help improve students' grades, and my brother hasn't gotten the help he needs , especially because he has an IEP. They assured my parents that they would help him, but, as I said, there has been nothing. Something I found funny was that a counselor asked if I could tell my boss to change my hours just so she could schedule my off period to whatever worked faster for her. Aside from the unintelligent staff, the policies they have for students are even more ridiculous . They have 90-minute classes but give students 60 minutes or less for lunch. Recently, they have instituted hallway sweeps, only giving students 5 minute passing periods. It used to be 7 minute passing periods, making it harder for students to succeed. I also thought it was dramatic to have phones be put in a bin. I personally believe senior year should be the time when seniors prepare for life after school, teaching them how to be responsible, respectful, and what life will be like after high school, especially in a job setting. I feel that having my phone in a bin is childish, unnecessary, and does not prepare any senior for responsibility. There is obviously a lot more wrong with the school, but I'm not gonna waste any more of my time, so what I think is I don't recommend this school it's horrible if I could give 0 stars and still write this review I would.
