It is so rare that I write a negative review, but I was incredibly disappointed with my first (and…read moreonly) transaction with Pressbox Printing in Altoona. As a brand new customer, I dropped off 60 prints for lamination (price quote $390). Upon pickup, I discovered that EVERY SINGLE PRINT had been damaged by the lamination process (see photos) and that one had been re-printed/copied and no longer matched the set. I was floored that no one had even bothered to contact me about these issues; had I not complained, they would have happily taken my credit card and charged me almost $400 for my damaged prints (six months worth of design work). I asked why on EARTH someone had continued to laminate all 60 prints after damaging the first few, and received no answer. When I asked whether the lamination quality was normal, I was told "no" and co-owner Dave offered me the damaged prints at half price--because "the lamination material cost us $200." Co-owner Mike's solution was to trim off the laminate border "free of charge." Are you KIDDING me. With no other recourse, they reluctantly gave back my work with the only "apology" being "I'm sorry we couldn't provide you with the service you needed." As a small business owner myself, I am appalled that Pressbox wouldn't take the steps to fix THEIR employee's mistake--no matter how much it cost them. As a graphic designer, photographer, and educator in the State College area with many local clients, I would NEVER recommend Pressbox Printing to any of my contacts. What a shame.

The work that Graphic Artist James Williams does is Great! But I brought in my book project back…read morein November 2018 around the first week. He did the cover and had done alot of the interior design, but my project kept being pushed aside due to other projects that came AFTER mine because they had deadlines, and were repeat big customers?! Does that sound Right to you? I wanted mine done in November and then when it got pushed to December I wanted it done then too?! Whether your big or small, repeat or 1st time customer (like myself) having your Project set aside for others that come 2 weeks AFTER yours is WRONG? Anyone else think this is Fair Treatment of a Customer?! Now, my project will be done in January! I already Registered my Copyright for 2018...that's not gonna be good?! Did you know that a Certificate of your Registered Copyright can take up 7 to 10 months in the mail? I think James does Excellent work and easy to work with. I just think Management needs to deal with their issues of managing BETTER? Don't know if I would go back UNLESS I give a Deadline that was gonna be adhered to next time??!!!

I went to the Staples in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to use the self service copier machine. I had a…read moregift card with a balance of $22.20, and I had the receipt to prove it. After making a few copies, the machine jammed, and I couldn't get anyone to help me. So, I switched to another copier, but it wouldn't let me use my gift card. I used a credit card just to finish my copying. Finally, I was then able to get someone to look at the first copier, because I wanted a receipt with my gift card balance. The manager at the store couldn't do that - even though it was an in-store transaction! And the gift card was showing a balance of zero, even though I had made only a few copies. Instead, the store gave me an 800 number to call. The first time I called, I got disconnected. When I called back, the customer service rep tried to refer me back to the store - even though the store referred me to this number! Finally, the rep called the store - confirming everything that I already explained to her - and yet she was unable to refund my gift card. She tried to give me a coupon instead. No thanks. So, I got screwed out of my remaining gift card balance (about $21) because the store couldn't give me a receipt, after I made a purchase in the store, on a copier that jammed (not my fault). And I got the run around after calling an 800 number, which I never would have had to do if the store had handled this the right way. Ridiculous!
