I even showed them photos with colors from the same tone family. During the process, hairstylist Amy kept asking her manager about which color to use and how long to leave it on, which made me feel uneasy. She called me over to check the color while my hair was wrapped in foil and even brought me to the manager. One thing that made me feel a bit uncomfortable was When it was time to wash my hair, she didn't speak but just pointed with her finger for me to come over. In the end, they gave me a blonde color mixed with some grayish ash tones instead of what I wanted. They said the photos I showed had ash tones too, and that ash colors eventually fade. They also admitted that the color ended up way too gray, which was not what I wanted. They promised to do a retone for free. The next day, I asked for a refund. At first, I insisted on a full refund, but they refused, saying the photos I chose had various colors and that I didn't want brown. (But looking at the result, it's clear that it's not just missing the brown color -- overall, it's very different from the photos I showed.) So I ended up accepting only half of the refund. This was by far the worst salon experience I've ever had. Other stylists might be different, but I strongly do not recommend Amy.

I asked for simple curtain bangs and the stylist completely butchered the right side of my hair. She told me she was fresh out of cosmetology school and it honestly showed. The cut was uneven, choppy, and way shorter than I asked for. It was so bad that I have been self conscious about my hair ever since. What makes it worse is that my hair has never been the same. I take very good care of my hair and it used to grow evenly and healthy. Three years later and that section still has not grown back properly. I have had to style around it constantly and it has been extremely frustrating. I trusted this salon and left feeling upset and embarrassed. If you care about your hair at all, I would strongly reconsider booking with a level 1 stylist here. Saving money is not worth dealing with damage that lasts for years.

They pointed me to Whitney Lee, so I booked a consultation. Whitney was so down to earth and sweet, she seemed genuinely excited to work on my hair. She said for what she had planned, it'd be a maintenance cut, so less expensive than the transformation cut. Whitney took excellent care of my curls, doing a dry cut (or carving as they call it) to get the overall rounded shape I'd been wanting. Then, she washed and conditioned my hair, did some wet hair trimming, and taught me how to rope my curls in much thinner ringlets. She also said my hair was fine, which I had NO idea! I always thought that since I had so much hair, and so poofy, it was thick, but nope! My hair is fine! Anyway, Whitney added some more moisture, then diffused my hair, used a hair pick to give it more volume, and tidied up some loose ends. My curls had never looked so good, like they finally reached their fullest potential. I've taken what I've learned from Whitney and began applying it to my hair. For the longest time I hated my curly hair. It was a tangled rat's nest and I always opted to flat iron it. Now, I'm in love with my shiny, bouncy curls. Don't expect clear communication about the pricing. Instead of being told what I was going to pay, I was asked twice if I had read the website. The website includes photos, and four tabs. One of the tabs is services and that does include pricing. The fault is mine for not reading more carefully. That being said, the person doing my service literally never said a number. If you are willing to charge that much, you should be willing to say it out loud to your client. I was told I had to submit a deposit for half of my appointment. When I looked back, I only had to submit a deposit of $89 which was half of my $178 for partial highlights. This didn't help me to realize I'd be charged an extra $550 for my haircut. It was a cruel shock to leave with my hair looking nice to realize my total for the day was $728. Again, the fault is mine for not reading all of the website more carefully, but I hope no one else has to have this cruel shock. This salon is not willing to use spoken words to convey their fees. You will only get this information from the website. This is a shocking lack of professionalism and courtesy.
