There was a car wreck on the way over to our movie and we were late for our showing, they said no problem and gave us tickets to the next showing, made our night! Invest, invest, invest! Located in the heart of Atown is Colony Cinemas, use to be Galaxy. We took our daughter to her first movie theater. There is a good amount of parking, please cement the dirt parking. The building is a classic and just needs some TLC. The concession stand and ticket booth are still the same, much as everything else, but I feel just everything needs facelift. The customer service was good and they had the red seat blocked off, which I don't get. * Overall I love this theater and I just hope that they will put some money into it* read more

We were staying for the weekend and needed something to do the night we arrived. We decided to try Colony Cinemas and watch a movie. This theater is big compared to the ones I have been to. They had plenty of treats and popcorn to purchase and seats were comfortable. Great place to bring the kids and family. read more

Holy cow- they keep this theater so cold! I had on my jacket, hood and gloves. Everyone in the theater who had a hooded jacket was wearing it. My phone app said 62 but, sure it was colder as it was in my pocket. Stay home if you want a comfortable experience watching a movie. read more

As I sit here waiting for the movie to start, I don't want my arms to touch the unclean armrests not my hair to touch the filthy seat back. This is how you get head lice. As soon as this theatre changed hands in recent years, there's been a sharp decline in cleanliness at this theatre. This place is filthy disgusting now. Completely unclean and this will be my last visit here. Used to be my favorite theater in the county. What happened? Why did you stop cleaning the facilities? Furthermore why are you now completely skimping on air conditioning?! It's hotter than hell in here to boot. Get your act together. read more

We finally got back to see a movie since the theater has changed from Galaxy to Colony. Impressions. They need to invest in repairs and maintenance. Bathroom sinks or faucets are broken. The handicap single bathroom had no paper towels or seat covers. The floor had urine on it in front of toilet. It was a warm afternoon and usually you are cool or cold in the theater. We were too hot and there was no air circulating or AC. My seat was broken. I've noticed this one before as we like to sit center above the rail and my seat just falls back and won't stay up. Had to move over one. We saw The Equalizer 3 in theater 9. Please get a loan or financing of some kind and invest in this theater. It was our favorite but it's seen better days. read more

The staff were mostly young, a little inexperienced, but all were very polite and professional. The prices were standard for entry, a bit higher on concessions than I remember. The facility seems to be deteriorating, and they have removed all of the benches that used to line the halls leading up to where you hand over your ticket. So if you're waiting for someone in the bathroom or maybe someone who is buying popcorn, suck it up I guess? What was weird was when we tried to buy tickets for our teenage kids to see an R rated movie they asked if the kids had our permission to see it. Of course they do, why would I have asked for tickets for them if I wasn't okay with them watching it? Then we were told that we could only buy them tickets if we were going to watch the movie with them, and we were required to sit directly next to them. One staff told us it was to prevent kids from behaving badly. Okay.., then later when we went to go in we were asked again if we knew it was R rated and that we had to physically accompany them in. Then they proceeded to say it was because the theater wanted to ensure we were "fully aware of what content we were allowing our children to consume" Im not sure I'll be back under these restrictions, and would prefer to just drive them to Paso or San Luis to watch their gratuitous violence without a chaperone. read more

A very clean theater that welcomes families with good movie selections and times as well as a snack bar that is reasonably priced. Snack bar offers candy, sodas, popcorn, icees as well as pizza, nachos, pretzels and more. $8.50 all day movie pricing on Tuesday is cool! So glad Atascadero has a well appointed theater with friendly staff! read more

Clean, efficient, friendly ticket booth staff. I have been to 3 movies since Galaxy left and pretty much had the theatre to ourselves each time. Great for us (fewer germs) but probably not great for the theatre who needs to sell more tickets. I don't think they serve beer and wine yet but we love to go the Mexican restaurant next door prior to a movie anyway. We'll definitely go again. read more

This place has sure taken a nosedive since becoming Colony Cinemas. Galaxy Theaters was great but this place is horrible. From the help to the condition of the theaters to the really bad concessions it is a place that I will not be returning to. This is an embarrassment to theaters. read more

Definitely since new ownership, this theater has gone down hill. Staff wasn't at all happy. They looked like they didn't care about work or anything. I ordered popcorn and a pretzel cart with cheese. The popcorn was a couple days old and stale. The women at the confession stand told us we had to wait for our pretzel and that another associate would bring us it. They eventually came with the pretzel a little into the movie. The pretzel was cold and s little hard. Definitely a couple days old. Mid movie I had to use the restroom, on my way to the restroom. There was popcorn all over the bathroom floor, dirty used paper towels all over the counters. Water all over the mirrors. I was not impressed with the quality or run of this theater. read more

Bought online tickets yesterday to watch the little Mermaid. This was the first time buying the tickets online since the movie just opened last week I wanted to get advance tickets. Paid 48.00 for two senior, one adult and one child. When I told the manager who was at the ticket booth that I paid for the tickets in advance he told me I absolutely had to have my confirmation number. But I didn't know I needed it since this was my first time ordering tickets online. He was not willing or didn't know how to access my purchase on his computer and said the seats I ordered were never reserved yesterday. He acted like I was trying to scam some tickets. So there was a long line of people behind me so I stepped out of the line. I looked up my receipt on my bank and waited until the line died down. When I went back to the ticket booth there was a different person at the window. I told him and showed him my bank statement that the tickets were paid for. He immediately found my name and my purchase and my reservation and honored my tickets. I thanked the nice young man. This is just bad customer service and bad business. I will never go to this theater again. And I'm going to pursue a way to report this bad service. BBB maybe. Not sure if they will do anything but Im just so upset at the way I was treated. So when we finally got into the theater the movie had started already and we were there 15 minutes before the scheduled time. I don't want to give them even one star. My rating of this movie theater is a big fat 0. read more

Wish prepaid ticket holders can skip the main line, instead having to get a paper ticket as well. Would save time for all if I just show ticket QR code on my phone and have the entrance guide scan it. I don't need a paper stub. Instead, I had too stand in multiple lines to get a ticket for a ticket I already had. Then had to wait in food line, then wait in another line for a the staff to point where the movie is. It's one through eight. I can figure it out. It's like going through a Walmart backwards. guess all theaters do the same around here. They do let minors watch rated r movies. There has to be an adult present they can't just be in the next movie near by.

We had issues at Colony Cinemas with a couple of teenage boys. They were seat hopping in our row, banging on the bars, talking loud, & on their phones (not watching/paying attention) to the point I left the movie to tell someone. I go back in and they start turning on their flashlights and shining them in our faces. I went to get someone again because my 4 year old was getting upset they were "blinding" her. Took them forever to come in and say a couple words to the boys. That was it. The boys eventually got up and went in and out of the theater a couple times then finally left for good. It came off like they were the owner's sons or something? & I try to be patient because kids will be kids, pretty sure I internally told myself 10 different times "okay if it happens again I'll get up" before actually doing it, but I paid 40 bucks for my family to watch a movie and don't even remember the first 30 minutes of it. We really don't know if we want to risk going back if there's a chance those kids will be there again. We were really excited about the new owners so I hope my assumptions are wrong. Do want to add in pros: I love the website / online ticket ordering, concession staff is nice and helpful, their holiday decorations are so fun and our food/drinks were great. read more

The projector was set to an unacceptably low light level. I could barely see the movie.

I've been to this theatre several times as I'm a local in Atascadero. Since the ownership changed not a whole lot changed. I think they opened before they were completely ready. We went and they had really nothing but popcorn at the concession stand but movie experience was still good nonetheless.I've gone back since they first opened and haven't really had issues. But I notice the the customer service specifically at the concession stand is definitely not up to par. All the other staff in different areas of the theater are always kind and professional . However the employees at the concession stand always look really unhappy. So much so I had one woman there that was just so mean. As we were ordering she was not really looking at us or acknowledging what we were saying it was hard to tell if she was listening . But she was listening and we ordered popcorn and 4 drinks and as she took the orders for the drinks I kid you not she was throwing the straws onto the counter to us super aggressive. I was in shock but I'm not really confrontational so I ignored it and she continued her dismissive behavior. It seemed like she was annoyed we were there and I get it customer service is not an easy job but I really try hard not to make their jobs any harder and I was very kind . But she was just very forceful in giving us our drinks and our popcorn, almost shoving everything to us in a passive aggressive manor. By the end of the interaction I was just kind to her and thanked her for helping us and she tried to be nice I think to make up the behavior she had just displayed but it was too late. I don't know if she had a bad day regardless not an excuse for treating people that way. I would've brushed it off but most of the staff at the concession booth seem unhappy and isn't the first time I've experienced behavior like this at this theater. If something is going on at that place where your staff is so unhappy they take it out on customers then some serious change needs to happen. read more
