Our fur babies are not Amazon packages!!! I did some research at found that The Final Gift in Oxford, CT, about an hour and a half away from me, does private same day cremations and has viewing services...aka a wake. This is what I wanted. I didn't want my last goodbye with my baby to be in a room in a hospital, I wanted to give her a dignified send off as if she were a human family member. I set up a viewing a few days later and could not believe the respect and attention she (and we) were given. I even got to hold her one last time as they have a warming process, so she was not cold or stiff, it was like she was sleeping. Ultimately I wish pet funeral homes were more common place...maybe one day they will be, but until then, if you want to honor your fur baby with a dignified send off suitable for a human, I could not recommend this place enough.

Losing Fetty came just a few days after losing my father to terminal cancer...so this was extremely difficult for my family and I. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at West Haven Animal Clinic. Their communication was…read moreterrible from start to finish. I paid $150 just for them to look at my cat, only to now have to pay another clinic for a second consult because nothing was handled properly. I was originally told my cat needed a tumor removed and was given a price, but when I arrived for the appointment they suddenly told me she needed two additional procedures I had never been informed about. My cat's surgery appointment was rescheduled and pushed back twice, and when I finally dropped her off on the day, they told me the procedure might not even happen and could be pushed back a *third* time. I missed work for two days because of their lack of organization and communication, and meanwhile my cat continues to be uncomfortable while I have to find another place to take her, which is NOT easy. The only positive part of this entire experience was Melissa at the front desk she was the only person who showed empathy and actually seemed to care. Sadly, that wasn't enough to make up for everything else.
