Raise your hand if you've ever been gaslit by a Dr who is too lazy to actually do his job? (Shout out to Dr snyder) I was just "fired" from my pain management specialist and referred to a "pain psychologist" He is apparently tired of me holding him accountable for Not listening, not looking into my concerns, giving me an injection that left me unable to walk straight then falsifying reports saying there were no complications, then when I called him on it he said it was "anxiety", treating only the right side of my neck when I've told him a dozen times my left it what hurts the most. But what the computer says I guess matters more than what the patient says anymore because you know- insurance might not pay him if he goes outside the scope of the typical cattle call of pain management. I've been in the ER at least once a month with debilitating pain. They help me there but then tell me I need a plan, so I don't have to keep going there. I agree! Well my pain Dr, refused to make a plan other than gabapentin and steroids, both I won't touch because I deal with pots syndrome. So, at the end of the day, he has the power, and I don't. So I guess he gets to call me crazy because he doesn't want to look into anything I've brought to him, or deal with me actually reading my own medical reports and having questions. The nursing staff is on point in this facility. Most of the people we encountered were kind and compassionate. The wait was minimal and the care was fine. While my relative was treated there, one of the nurse was trying to balance all her instruments on her knee and kept dropping things... this place needs to invest in some rolling carts and supplies to aid their staff. read more

I was referred here only because it's close to where I live. It took me about a month to get an appointment with the doctor then another month to get an appointment in physical therapy. The doctor is great. He checked me out and gave me meds & shots and my wrists felt great right away. Then I was sent upstairs for physical therapy and that's a whole another story. The receptionist does not care to assist patients in any polite manner at all. She just booked me and told me when I had the appointment without asking me when I'm available like they're doing me a favor by squeezing me in. I had the same unpleasant experience at my first appointment too. I sat in the lobby patiently waiting for my appointment (like 30 minutes) & no one was even in the office. When they finally got me in, I was reprimanded by the therapist that she can't hear me so I should've yelled for her in the other room. Really? Second appointment was worse, I actually had to tell the therapist who was short with me from the moment I went in that she's been very unpleasant every time I've been in. I don't think I want to go back there if I have a choice... The second doctor's appointment was also horrible. I waited for over an hour and a half and the staff told me that I was lucky I didn't wait 4 hours... No respect for people's time at all... Once I saw the doctor (Dr. McQueen)who once snapped at me by saying "I can't control how long my appointment takes" (oh I was about to go crazy on this doctor when he said that), he apologized for keeping me waiting for nearly 2 hours. He is a good doctor though who knows what he's doing. He suggested a non traditional patch for my tendonitis as well as topical pain killer and it's been working. If they could figure out patient treatment by staff... I just don't have the time nor patience for this much waiting...I'm going to have to take a day off just for an appointment. read more

I recommend Dr. Srivastava! I have been seeing him for my knees for several years. He is a very caring doctor and has helped me a lot including a knee replacement. I have visited the Chester office and Colonial Heights depending on where I can get appointments. The nearest office in Chester, VA is a 50 minute drive and the Colonial Heights office is an hour from my home. It is not convenient to go there but I have seen 4 other ortho docs closer to my home and did not like any of them. I plan to continue seeing Dr. Srivastava as long as I need orthopedic care which includes another knee replacement. read more

This is the worst place to go if you have back pain .all they care about is making money, the entire staff is rude and uncaring .as others have mentioned they overbook and Your time is worthless . Dr brad ( I use dr loosely ) saw me on 2 occasions I have bulging herniated disks as well as degenerative disk disease loss of feeling in my legs, after 2 visits dr said he couldn't do any more for me , and couldn't offer me anything for pain and was sending me to Their pain management next building imagine that! I told him I had injection in the past steroid, cortisone and facet blocks to the point I have loss of feeling in parts of my back. Sadly for me I'm screwed My recommendation do not go to this place. read more

I rated this place 2 stars - Only due to Dr. Saraiya. He is fantastic! The reception & billing folks and Nurses .. they do not get 3 stars overall in my book. They can be very direct and down right rude at times. No touchy feel good - we are glad you are here vibe for the most part. Have had situations where the Dr leaves and no one calls to tell you not to come in. Once you are there - the reception folks tell you - " oh THEY tried to call you but could not reach you - and you will need to call back to get another appointment." Not sure who THEY are - or why there would be no missed call on my cell phone. But there wasn't. Any why in the world would an appointment time be offered and made right there and then while I'm in the office? read more

Dr. Snyder, is such a wonderful doctor with great bedside manners. He listens to any problems or concerns that you have. He tries to decide the best treatment along with you. His medical assistants and nurse in the back are awesome. When I had both procedures done that took great care of me. They knew I was nervous, so they did there best to reassure me, everything was going good. Yes I will admit the lady at the front desk is very rude and unprofessional, but I can't give them 1 star because of one person. It's more than her that works there and it's not fair to the other staff. read more

saw the PA merissa costello two times now and she has been great I broke my fibula 8 mo ago and have been having pain threw out the 8 months was first treated at the one in colonial heights where i was a number and had a dr who could care less i love this place way better time waits are short and they listen highly recommend well at least who i saw going to start therapy here soon hope its as nice as the clinic read more

When I first got to my appointment I spoke to some woman at the front desk in Chester, VA and she was the most rude and arrogant person that I have spoken to thus far ! She had a heavy accent ( probably from India ) and didn't seem to like her job at all! What she made sure to let you know that! then I had to wait a looooooooong time to see the doctor. When my doctor finally came he was very overwhelmed - I think they are over-booking multiple appointments - what was hard to fell like I had adequate time with the doctor. read more

I have had severe pain in both knees for several years and was recommended by my Dr. to Sharma. I have had two Knee arthroscopy by my Dr. and when that did not help he referred me to Sharma. Sharma did a tibial osteotomy and needless to say i am still in tremendous pain. Here's my problem, I am 43 years old with 2 bad knees, I am 5'8" and weigh 189lbs, my last visit to Sharma I was told by him I am overweight and needed to lose weight and that's the only way the pain would go away. I'm sorry, but I was not always this weight and even when I was a lot smaller (140lbs) I had the same pain. I am unable to walk up stairs, can't stand for too long, have trouble getting in and out of a vehicle and definitely can't get down on my knees to do any type of chores or gardening. My quality of life has diminished because of extreme pain and limited mobility, but Sharma refuses to do knee replacements, which he says I will need in the future, but because of my age he will not do it. I'm sorry, but who made him God? How does he know how long I have to live? and who gave him the right to dictate the quality of life i live? Dr. Sharma is insensitive, rude, and as far as his bedside manner goes.....he needs to be retrained. I would not recommend him to anyone. I am left in pain, after 3 surgeries and his suggestion is lose weight or let's go back in and scrape your knees again.....NO THANKS Sharma! If anyone is out there considering seeing him, please get a second opinion regardless of what others say. I know I am. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! If I could post a negative star I would.. They are the worst place ever. I went for a sprained ankle and they put me in a cast. I called several times because my ankle was killing me.. The receptionist would drop the call in a v/m and no one would ever call back. After 3 days the pain was so bad I went to Ortho VA.. I was told I should have never been in a cast and could have gotten a DVT. I contacted David the Admin of Colonial Ortho with my complaints. (actually called multiple times to speak to him and the guy is a jerk. He will not return calls. (I guess that is the poor standard for this practice) I wrote a letter. I never received a call back, a letter, or I am sorry this happened to you. To this day, no one has ever called me back from Colonial Ortho. The cast was removed at Ortho VA and I have had exceptional care from Ortho VA. Bottom Line: If you want the worst care, no calls back, no follow up, and sit in the lobby in pain for an hour before someone sees you.. then go here. This is a horrible practice and I will make sure everyone knows my awful experience. I plan to contact BBB, and Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. read more

My son got really bad cut on his hand and was referred to here by the hospital. Making the appointment was great. Our appt, time was for 11:20 but we had to be there at 11:00 because we were new patients. We get there,fill out the paper work and about 45 minutes we were called back. We sat in this very plain, boring room that reminded me of some sort of special room for people that want to hurt themselves,for about an hour before I walk out and ask how much longer. She said there are 2 patients ahead of us. By this time I'm getting frustrated because of how long we've already waited. We waited in the room for 2 hours and 10 minutes before the Dr. (lets just call him Dr.D) came in there. Once he finally came in he asks what we were there for so we tell him. He starts checking out my sons hand,no big deal, and then says lets do an x-ray and get a splint. By the way he has already been to the hospital several days earlier. No xray needed to be done. The ER doctor just wanted to make sure that the tendons/nerves weren't damaged too bad. So I ask Dr.D if we can just wait too see if he really needs an x-ray done after he heals more. He said "Yea well I don"t think he really needs one anyway". I'm thinking to myself then why did he even say anything about doing it in the first place.Not only did he NOT apologize but he was also very rude. I asked him when my son could go back to work ( he gets very dirty in his type of work) and I was worried that it might get infected from this. He said " He knows how to take a shower right?" UGH Anyway, so the nurse comes in with this splint that must be coated in gold or something. she say's Here's your splint. It costs $103.00. I said "WHAT?" She repeated herself and I said "NO, We can just go to walmart and get one for $20". She gave me a look and said " Well it has to look just like this" and I said ok. Then she said to make another appt. 1 week from now to get his stitches removed. Yea ok (say this sarcasticly). I go to check out and the lady up front says that we need an appt. 1 week from now and my son speaks up and says " NO we don't" She looked at him and we tell her we are just going to take them out ourselves. She said "that's not a good idea". I told her that I'm not coming back to spend another $60 for yall to take his stitches out. Needless to say she wasn't very happy. Bottom line is that I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more
