The walk in shower was very spacious and easy to use especially for my parents, which have mobility problems. Great shower pressure with perfect hot water! Variety of cold options to choose. Also have a couple of laundry machines available to use on the 3rd floor. I never used the swimming pool on the 1st floor. A pantry to purchase things is also available on the 1st floor. I would definitely recommend staying here! Restaurant/Bar is attached to the hotel and offers room service. Great place!

Room was nice, seemed clean unfortunately the beds weren't that comfortable but that's always a hit or a miss (and personal preference). seeing there is a chophouse connected to this establishment we were looking forward to a full breakfast spread - quite a small selection. Cereal without milk, toast toppings without bread and the batter was on its last limb for waffles. I'm used to staff being in the dining area frequently to check on low items and restocking, I needed to alert the staff that things were missing or empty. Seeing this is the newest hotel in the area I'm sure it's the best place to stay.

There is free wifi, they have a free hot breakfast and a clean well lit swimming pool and whirlpool. My wish list for the hotel includes a frozen dessert vending machine that dispenses things similar to a DQ sandwich or Dilly Bar and an ice machine that has a higher capacity. This one ran out after 2 buckets and I had to wait 15 minutes for more ice. The rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. AC works great and can keep your room icebox cold. Housekeeping this morning did a great job cleaning up and resetting the room again. I have stayed at a few hotels in Ottumwa over the years. This is one of the best ones in town and would recommend it if you are looking for a clean and affordable bed for the night.

The only signage in place was the curtains and tv were being replaced. The receptionist, who was the nicest person ever, informed us after paying for our room, the pool was inoperable, but was offered to walk across to the Holiday Inn Express to use the pool. The smell of paint fumes caused us both to have headaches and my bf's asthma to flare up. The curtains in our room were inoperable, so we woke up to the sun shining in our faces. The shower head did not work, and there was woodwork missing in the bathroom. The manager Tabitha is rude and hostile, as i returned her attitude, she then hung up on me. I didn't know i should've jumped up and down and made a scene at the check out counter. Apparently you need to take pics of all these things or you get treated poorly by said manager Tabitha. If staying in Ottumwa, find somewhere else to stay the night, this place shouldn't be open during this construction. They should probably do some construction on their management team also.

That should have been indication enough that this wouldn't be where I wanted to stay, but I had booked the room, so I went in. Check-in was fine, and I went to my room. At first, I thought it would be okay, a bit dated, but the room was big, so I stuck it out. That is until I went near the bed and found a bug in the bed! That was it. I called another hotel to book a room. When I went to tell the front desk I was leaving, about six people were trying to check in. The front desk person looked at me, frustrated, and declared she couldn't help me. I said I would wait, but she continued to stare at me as if she wanted me to tell her. So I told her I couldn't stay here. She asked why in a gruff tone, and I told her, looking at all the people waiting, I don't think you want me telling you now. She continued to look at me, and I told her - a bug in my bed! She told me she couldn't do anything and to call the manager in the morning. So, I left. And in the morning, I called the manager, who didn't apologize but told me she had someone come out, and it wasn't bed bugs. Great! Glad to hear that, but I want my money back. After a 5-minute conversation of excuses, She told me they credited my account last night. I would have led with that! It was a horrible experience!

Rating: 1/5 Stars…read more Low Price, Lower Quality -- Unsafe, Unprofessional, and Outdated I was here on a business trip--and while the room was covered by my company, I still wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, paid or complimentary. The low rate is simply not worth the terrible experience from check-in to check-out. The issues began immediately when my room keys failed to work. Rather than resolving the issue properly at the desk, a staff member had to manually let me in with a physical key every single time I needed to return to the room. The "fix" finally came around 8:30 PM, when a front desk employee--accompanied by a random, visibly intoxicated person showed up to replace the battery in my door's card reader. To make matters worse regarding safety, the room was completely missing its secondary swinging bar lock. While the room was technically tidy, it felt dingy and had a strong, unpleasant odor. The bathroom was in rough shape as well: mold in the shower, stained towels, and a counter so tiny it barely held basic toiletries. management seems equally neglected in common areas. The lobby was filled with an overpowering air diffuser that created a scent so thick a literal haze lingered inside the building in the morning like a foggy London morning. At breakfast, the staff hovered uncomfortably close to the food and seemed entirely unaware of basic hospitality etiquette, holding conversations in public areas with zero awareness that guests could hear everything. Overall, the property suffers from poor maintenance, major safety oversights, and a lack of professionalism. I'll be advising my company to book elsewhere in the future.
