Losing a loved…read moreone turns your whole world upside down, but being able to make one phone call and know that all the details will all be efficiently attended to means everything! My Dad was terminally ill and in another state. I called Macken and was gently asked a series of questions and was given a telephone number to call, day or night, whenever they were needed. No matter where you are, or what logistics may be involved in your loss, you have only to make this one call to be connected with a team of professionals who can take over and make sure that everything is handled perfectly for you. I can't recommend Macken highly enough.

Firstly, Margaret is a gem. She was so helpful and kind during this very painful season for my…read morefamily and me and we couldn't be more grateful. She handled our loved one's ashes with care and ensured we had everything we needed. As for the remaining staff there that day, a dark haired man, Roger or Rob, was very unkind towards my family and me when picking up our loved one's ashes. His demeanor and behavior towards us made an already sad experience worse. He was very cold and I was ready to write it off until there was a painfully noticeable difference in the engagement between my family and another woman who was there about a loved one as well. When you lose a loved one, you hope to be treated with kindness and compassion. While I can understand that everyone may not have the capacity to do so, given the line of business this is truly unacceptable. I hope that going forward, EVERYONE who walks through the doors of Macken Mortuary is met with the kindness and compassion they deserve.

My beloved mother passed away unexpectedly last month. The day after I googled funeral homes in the…read morearea and this one had the best reviews. I didn't want to deal with anyone who would sell me something or people who were cold. Leo F. Kearns gave me everything I needed and more to plan the best funeral for my mom. Yrcania is genuinely phenomenal. She made everything feel natural, each conversation was focused on what would represent my mom the best. She never pushed me to do or buy anything, she was responsive to all my needs and communicated everything. I appreciated that they only hold one wake at a time so you feel like the space is really yours. One thing that really stood out to me is that my parents are from 2 different faiths and she ensured that both were represented at the wake. I didn't even consider it and appreciate that she would do that. On the day of the funeral, she ensured everything went smoothly and guided us through each part of the morning. Throughout this process, I never felt stressed or overwhelmed and I felt like my mom was safe and honored in their care. They provided the most professional service and I highly recommend.

We dealt mostly with Jonathan, and he was the epitome of perfection. Johnathan is extremely professional, yet still exudes warmth and compassion. He treated my mother with such care, which made the unavoidably life-altering experience of losing ones spouse as endurable as possible. From the first tour, to the options for services, to the Memorial itself, Jonathan and staff were complete class. Brunswick Memorial made it possible for our family to say our last good bye to my father with respect, dignity, and beauty. While no one wants to need their services, you will inevitably need them. I highly recommend Brunswick Memorial Home. Our experience with them was a very positive and crucial piece of our grief process. I cannot thank them enough.

Ron not only worked with me to plan a wonderful funeral for my wife, but he worked tirelessly to get her body back from Morocco, where she had died suddenly. The funeral was a complete success, with photos of my wife on a screen that funeral goers saw as they entered the building and a room large enough to hold all attendees.
