Melissa set up the appointment and handled the initial conversations, and I met with the inspector, Tom, at the house. 4D was one of the most reasonably priced home inspection companies, especially when you consider their excellent reputation (vis-a-vis google reviews) and the personal recommendation. They did not try to upsell Melissa on additional work or reports, which we ended up needed, but there was a chance we would not and therefore, they didn't try to force them on us. Tom was punctual and was well underway by the time I showed up to join him on his inspection. He was focused and very quick - had trouble keeping up at times - but he stopped and pointed out each problem he saw and explained the situation to me, answering every question I had and explaining how certain issues could impact us and the house moving forward. And when our termite inspection saw a couple of structural things the next week that were not in Tom's report, Tom took the time to provide a lengthy and detailed explanation as to why those were not issues or called out in his report. He also took the time to answer other follow up questions quickly and with detail. His report was completed within one day, and again, Tom made himself available for follow up questions. When the time came that we did need some follow up reports - a 4 Point report for insurance and a wind mitigation report, Tom had those completed as well within a day.
