Visited this quaint little spot for a late breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the food. We were thankful the lady was able to speak a good amount of English to help us. I ordered tea, eggs, bacon, toast, and a mimosa. The tea was ok and I thought the bacon was going to be real bacon but it was Canadian bacon. Other than that the food was delicious and the mimosas were made with fresh squeezed orange juice, you could taste the pulp. The toast was nicely toasted and I tried some of my cousin's avocado with it and it made it even better. The eggs with bacon and tomatoes were good as well. We also didn't realize it came with a dessert bc if I did I would've saved some space for it. We enjoyed our time there and recommend for anyone wanting a tasty breakfast. read more

Everything was delicious. Just wish the price was a bit lower. The portions here or this country I've notice aren't big. Also the customer service wasn't all that warm. They did the basic: Greet you, sit you down, took my order and brought my order.... no small talk and it wasn't as if there wasn't many customers (only me and another table). But I'm giving it 4 stars because I wasn't looking for what I just stated. I guess I was just looking for a warm meal. I had Tostados con Huevo. Was pretty good. Just wish it was a bit more and wish the coffee and juice size was a bit more. Nice Aura. Hip and Modern. Clean. I would return. IF aim ever back to this lovely country!! read more

This is another gem in the wall! It has the best coffee and healthy snack options. They do serve breakfast and lunch, however, it also has a variety of pastries. My go to order is the set of tomato, basil and hummus bruschetta-it is the most tasty combo ever. I also recommend the earl grey latte and assorted teas. The ambience is nonchalant and has a friendly-hipster vibe. It is full of amazing art work and the customer service is exceptional. In addition to a relaxed vibe, they have indoor and outdoor seating and have good working WiFi. I highly recommend this coffee shop and without a doubt come here again for the delicious bruschetta. We discovered this adorable little spot on our last day in Santiago or I would have come back every day. It's definitely a spot I'll recommend to friends who visit the city and stay in the area. The restaurant itself is small has a funky hipster vibe with a wide menu. We stopped by for breakfast and both had Huevos Campos which both came with a homemade, FRESH squeezed OJ and choice of speciality coffee as well as 2 enormous slices of buttered toast and eggs for $5.100. We had a cappuccino and latte (almond milk + $500) and they were both tiny little delicious works of art. The eggs were perfectly the cooked, the toast was incredible, and it was helpful that the waitresses were able to speak English (or at least understand our Spanglish). read more

This was a cute coffee shop! It was about a 20 min walk from our Airbnb on Carmen. The food came out really quick! Although there was a small language barrier, the server was able to comprehend everything we wanted and then some! The mimosas have orange juice with pulp in it just FYI. I would give it a higher rating if I wasn't charged extra for just champagne without orange juice (I'm allergic)! Overall it was a cute place! read more

UPDATE: Under new ownership or something and the place has totally changed. The cute market that was once downstairs is gone. Coffees were good but cold and the servers had absolutely no idea what was going on. I knew the menu better than they did. Quality has gone way down but prices have remained the same. Sad. My favorite place to visit in Santiago. It's in the Bellas Artes neighborhood, which is a great little place to walk around. Some nights there is a little fair of books, furniture, and small but interesting items for sale. Colmado is somewhat hidden, which is another positive feature to me. It is back in a beautiful courtyard type of space. I love the atmosphere. The wood inside, plants, and little lights are great, day or night. They offer multiple types of coffee - lattes, bonbons, drip, americano, moccacino, etc. - and so far, they are all good. (And include latte art for those wondering) The bread is amazing. They offer many types of snack type breads with toppings. They also have tasty sandwiches and super fresh salads. Overall, a great and cozy place with nice people running it! read more

Very cute and very very tasty coffee shop right by the Lastarria neighborhood. Colmado is a Spanish owned coffee shop that offers a menu of drip coffee infusions as well as the classic espresso drinks. They have a really healthy and yummy breakfast and lunch menu and everything is made with fresh ingredients every day. Thier avocado bread is my favorite way to get my day oing and is perfectly paid with one of their drip coffees. They serve free range chick eggs (that you can also buy and take home with you), homemade German style bread, and artesanal mate. Very simple décor with high wooden tables and big windows that let lots of light in. The coffee and breakfast at Colmado are impressive. I have had some shifty experiences with the service which range from slow to not very attentive, however I think this might have been because it is a newer establishment. read more

This place knows their coffee! We didn't try any of the food, however, their bean selection was solid and the first day we went we had two cups from the chemex. It was made extremely well, but the reason why I am writing the review is their cold brew, which they included a small slice of orange that complimented the taste perfectly. Just as good as the coffee was the people working there. Pretty good English and it was fun speaking with them in depth about their coffee. It was one of the best places we had coffee in the city and with it tucked away off the street, it was a refreshing break from the craziness that is Santiago. We stopped here for coffee and a light breakfast and are so glad we did. The place was really cute and was one of our favorite places in Santiago. The place gives off a bit of a hipster vibe. I ordered the green tea and the avocado toast on rye bread, and my friend ordered a coffee and the salmon toast. The avocado toast was amazing - the avocado spread was perfect and it was sprinkled with sesame seeds. I tried a piece of my friend's salmon toast and it was really tasty. He also really enjoyed his coffee. The service was excellent too. Our server spoke English and came by to check up on us. And we were sitting inside (there's some outdoor seating) next to the coffee bar and could see the barista making different drinks. And we were able to pay with credit card. There's a little bit of a shop in the front of the cafe where you can get cookies and bottled drinks for takeaway. There was a second floor too but it looked like they were doing some construction or renovation work. Overall we had a really great experience and I would love to come back when I return to Santiago! Best coffee experience I've had in Santiago. From my experience, they're a good place to go try new things if you're just beginning to discover the world of brewed, dripped and pressed coffee. Service was good, the waiter took his time to explain menu items to us and was fast to bring us our order. The only detail I would count against is that at the time, it was only us and a couple on the second floor, and not much attention was paid to us. When I wanted to ask for silverware for our sandwiches, I had to stand up and ask the cook. Food was good, specially the bread, which you can tell is home made. I had the tofu sandwich (In reference to another review here, the Tofu with stir fry ingredients is clearly under the sandwich section, so I would not blame that confusion on them) and it was fresh and very tasty. It's a bit quieter than I expected, it's a good atmosphere for relaxed meetings and quiet dates. The sitting, at least on the second floor, was not very comfortable, the stools had me moving around quite a bit. But it was a good experience regardless. read more

I really like this place. I tried the freshly squeezed orange juice and cappuccino for drinks and both were great. It was a cold day in Santiago and the coffee needed just that little extra bit of heat in it to not go cold too quickly. And the coffee came out just cool enough to drink straight away, but not so cool that it got cold quickly. Lovely. I also tried the pincho of tortilla which is a Spanish omelette as good as the better ones I've had in Spain and much better than the average ones. The toast which accompanied the tortilla was just as it is in Spain -- with olive oil & crushed tomatoes. The scrambled eggs with bacon were also quite decent. All in all, a great place for top coffee and very good food. Happy to recommend to all. read more

I was surprised to find vegan desserts and lactose free milk at this cute coffee bar in Santiago. They also have regular food and drinks. My lactose free latte was perfectly frothy and strong. My husbands order was lost in translation-- but his black coffee was excellent with chocolately notes. The vegan brownie was disappointing- tasted like a chalky health bar. Plenty of outdoor seating in the store's alley. Just avoid the vegan brownie and you'll be happy. read more

Colmado was a big disappointment. We had heard such good things about the coffee and the food. The coffee at Colmado was pretty good for Chile, but the food, atmosphere, and service all left a lot to be desired. I ordered a tofu dish (I thought it was going to be a stir fry, but it turned out to be a sandwich) and some eclairs. The tofu was nasty, and the eclairs were stale. In addition, while there was plenty of seating at Colmado, it was all uncomfortable. They clearly do not want the clientele to linger. The waiter managed to make both our children (ages 12 and 15) feel unwelcome even though they were just quietly doing their homework. Nice job, dude. This place does not have much going for it other than the passable coffee. read more
