First of all, this is not a 3.5 star restaurant. I had no wifi so I couldn't see all the great reviews of the other location, but this is absolutely just as good. I wandered in here because I wanted to eat South American cuisine once in Chile. A bit of a wait, maybe because I'm not a local and don't know how to communicate, but I started with a fresh mango juice and it tasted like absolute heaven. Seriously, when I die, if you offer me Heaven or Mango Juice I may have to think about it. Good start.
Next came bread with two dips. The piquante dip wasn't all that spicy but had a noticeable tang. Delicious and devoured. Order took about 25-30 minutes to arrive at the absolute peak of lunch: 2 PM. Like Argentina, Chile is nightshifted! It was packed but they kept things moving. I had a pollo with mushrooms dish. Delicious, nice portion, nice price. This place is NOT $$$. It's $$ - I spent $US20 total ($17.000 CL) and could easily have done it for $15. Also, it's not just sandwiches. Keep looking at the menu and find their dishes. That's what you really want here. The other table had extraordinary looking salmon on yellow rice. If I liked salmon at all I would have jumped for that right away.
Too bad I only had 3 days in Chile and I didn't know about this on day 1 or I could have visited it more than once! read more
