I would strongly advise others to think twice before using this funeral home during one of the…read morehardest times in life. My father passed away in December, and since then, dealing with this funeral home has added unnecessary stress and pain to an already heartbreaking situation. His death certificate came back with multiple major errors -- my father's last name was incorrect, my mother's last name was incorrect, and even his Social Security information was wrong. This was especially frustrating because I personally spelled everything out letter by letter for the funeral director and provided copies of identification to ensure there would be no mistakes. The funeral director said the death certificate was returned to be corrected at the end of January, yet months later, we still have not received the corrected copy. During this time, I have repeatedly tried calling and have received no return calls. I've gone to the funeral home in person with no answer, and even family friends have tried reaching out through calls and emails with no response. Losing a parent is already one of the hardest things someone can go through. Having to chase answers, deal with avoidable mistakes, and feel ignored while grieving has made this process even more painful. Families deserve compassion, communication, and professionalism during such a difficult time, and unfortunately, that has not been our experience.

I paid everything in full at the time of the service (last May) and a year later my grandfather's date of death still hasn't been put on the headstone. My emails and phone calls have gone unanswered. Looking up how to file a formal complaint against this company.

For the owner to question where I was or imply that I "should have found her sooner" is victim‑shaming and completely ignores the facts. I went to this facility years ago searching for my mother. I didn't find her because they placed her under a false name, not one from marriage. Their staff never verified next‑of‑kin, never requested documentation, and accepted a fraudulent authorization from someone with zero legal rights. Under Texas law, I am the only legal next of kin. Under Texas Penal Code, retaining property after being told it is stolen is unlawful. Accepting a falsified identity is forgery. Mishandling remains creates civil liability. No court order is required to return stolen property to its rightful owner. They keep referencing the "grief of a mother," yet completely ignore the grief of a daughter whose mother's ashes were stolen, mislabeled, and kept from her for 21 years. That grief is real, and their actions have only compounded it. This experience has been devastating, and the lack of accountability is unacceptable. BEWARE OF THE ETHICS OF MAGNOLIA FUNNERAL HOME - I found out this week my mother's ashes were placed in Mausoleum without next of kin approval under a fictitious name. Notified Magnolia funeral home. REFUSED TO GIVE HER BACK WITHOUT A COURT ORDER AND PAYING. They did not verify the name. Just know if they have an issue with a loved one, they will not make it right without you spending thousands of dollars to take them to court. EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE DOCUMENTATION.
