So I got in contact with a polite Evan who was able to send a guy out to unclog the stopped up bath…read moredrain quickly for $185. I then gave him a list of problems for the next visit and he said it would be $129/hr plus a $40 trip charge even though I live in red oak which is near Waxahachie. Very pricey in my opinion. His total estimate was $500 for fixing these things: 1) Find out cause of leak from upstairs to downstairs and possibly fix right away 2)Replace toilet seat & cover 3)Reconnect dishwasher downstairs to water line 4)Water in commode stays running non-stop Once I put my mind to it, i was able to fix everything by myself (except for the leaking pipe which no longer needed fixing since it stopped leaking after the bathtub got unclogged, just as I predicted) for less than $60. In summary, he is pricey and was willing to estimate $500 for minor problems. Could have possibly cost me more. Comes across like he is out to make top dollar from clients and doesn't necessarily care about being affordable.

It seems odd to me that since I am not an expert in septic systems I was supposed to figure out they did the repair incorrectly after the work was done, it wasn't until a near disastrous event that I realized they did not set the high water alarm float correctly and it will NEVER go off. How can this be my fault for not catching it sooner - isn't the point of hiring experts is to rely on them to make the repairs correctly? Liz wished me good luck and reiterate they wont stand behind their repair. I asked that the owner call me and I have not heard from him yet, maybe that isn't covered either since I am not under contract... :-(
