Very nice little supermarket, open till late. The selection is not as huge in the big ones, but…read moreyou'll find here everything you need. They also have fresh food section so you can get olives, ready meals etc. Staff is nice and friendly.
Everybody needs a local late night supermarket and the Marion IGA Foodland is a good one. The thing…read moreabout many smaller, late night supermarkets is that things can often be overpriced so if you run out of something late at night you end up paying a fortune for it. Not so here. The majority of their product is reasonably priced. You can grab a litre of milk for $1.25. Other positives about Marion Foodland IGA include the fact they have lots of staff in the store at any given time which means not too much waiting at checkouts. You know that annoying wait at late night supermarkets where only one person is on the checkout and there are ten people line up - not so here. Parking is always easy here and they have a good selection of deli products. Their bakery section is quite small but adequate and the fruit and veg section is pretty good too. If you have a late night emergency and live in the Marion area, I recommend this supermarket.
This is a handy supermarket. I don't have much good to say about supermarkets, I feel like they've…read morerun many good businesses into the ground. IGA has a very community-oriented marketing slant, but I still prefer to shop at smaller, more specialised outlets like butchers and small greengrocers. That said, this place is very convenient if you're in the area, the prices of most of the stuff is pretty competitive and the staff seem a bit friendlier than other supermarkets.

No doubt SA's cheapest grocers. You'll find end of date, expired products or deleted lines here…read more It's the best place to stock up on laundry and bathroom essentials, let's not forget the rolls of cheap toilet paper you can get your hands on. There are plenty of snacks range here, perfect for school lunch boxes, picnics or a snack sneak in the movies (you didn't hear it from me!), but do be weary as I found the mini chocolate buns a bit off and almost resembled that famed fungi sandwich that was going for thousand bucks on eBay! Still, there are some products worth looking at here. Make up, Coke, chocolates, Meggles eggs and dog food usually go on a very good offer. I guess it pays to be a smart shopper. I doubt I will buy something that has a 6 months expired date on it. Each to their own I guess.
Rite Price is known for its out of date or soon to expire food items so if you're fastidious about…read moreexpiry dates, then definitely check before you buy. As for the non edibles you can't go wrong as it's the cheapest place to buy party plates, storage containers, freezer containers, etc. When I was first introduced to Rite Price it was close to Halloween so I stocked up on trick or treat items - we give the items to the neighbours so we know what the kids were being given - but when the kids opened their goodies and started to eat and drink them, it didn't go down very well. So what was a good idea didn't end up being successful. I now rarely buy drinks or food items from here as I don't like the taste of the drinks either - now that I know - it's like they've been sitting out in the sun or more like a hot truck all day. And about the only edible items I do buy on occassions is pickled and tinned foods, as I can be sure they're safe to eat and the other is balsamic vinegar in the spray bottle, great for salads. The stock does change from time to time so if you are not in a hurry it's worth checking out, go in there with your shopping list and if no luck then go to the regular supermarket. So unless there's a famine this is not my regular place to food shop. Kamini is right as it's great for bathroom and laundry essentials and a few other items, if you dare.

The fruit & veg, bakery and deli sections are one of the largest I've seen in Coles stores. I was always a bit intimidated by asking about things at supermarkets - after all, if you can't manage in a supermarket in your hometown then you're not really going to make it in the real world are you? But the staff are so friendly and helpful that they made my fears go away. It's not the biggest foodland so sometimes the range suffers a bit compared to the bigger supermarkets but there is still a fairly big range there. If there's something you want that they dont have dont be afraid to ask them! P.S get in early and get fresh baked vegemite scrolls or spinach and feta scrolls. Delicious!!
