Huge selection of everything. This place though is super crowded! A lot of out of towners like myself are shopping here. Well this is one of those. This Woollies has the distinction of going from one of the best Woollies in 2013 to (in my experience) the worst. Badly maintained produce, rarely stocked shelves, stock in the wrong place... it's a bit of a shambles. The staff are generally okay with a couple of really exceptional register and shelving staff that are the saving grace of the experience here. The major exception to this is a large island lady with short red hair that habitually snatches your card off you when you pay and thinks it's funny to mock customers that have trouble at the self service checkout. If there were a Coles here I would drop this place like a led balloon but it's the only action in town.

Fresh sushi is also made instore in front of you; with some sushi already prepared for purchase, but you can also ask if you want something custom put together. Fresh pizzas are also available and made in store; either pick up a premade pizza or custom order your own.

The variety here smokes. It's like that one vegetarian friend that invites themselves to your 3-day all you can eat BBQ meat-marathon... and brings a salad. Jerry brought a buffalo stuffed with an apple for the spit; Daveo brought a slab of tinnies, a tray of snags and a kilo of bacon; Kyle? he brought a garden salad... yeah thanks Kyle. Woolies @ Coogee is the Kyle of the variety kingdom... I can put up with the soused females, charging up and down the aisles carrying schooners of Coogee cocktail (bourbon and coke for the lay person) dropping a MOAB payload of F's and C's to clear all those blocking them from the chip aisle --- Your a cee, he's a cee, everyones an eff'n cee, where's the effin chips?, I want effin chips! I can put up with that bloke, in his loose grey trakky daks and never-been-washed Bunnies beanie conducting an extended audition for the bum puppets. I can put up with that other bloke whose so towelled up on tinnies, pre 5pm, that he can barely slur, and then decides it's a wicked good idea to hit woolies for groceries (and hit on every passing female). I can put up with the trays of busted eggs that when you get home and open the carton, it looks like they've been tested with a hammer. I can even put up with the Alanis Morissette inspired irony of your "fresh food people" slogan (tip: That dark shade of yellow you call "organic" is what we humans call brown). But what I can't, won't, and don't put up with is the sheer lack of variety on your shelves. 1 brand name and 2 versions of your generics is bad enough, but when you don't have any of them? The worst is when you have specials... and those are the only things NOT in stock on the aisle. Ummm like restock the specials eh? That's the whole point of them. Saying you have specials and then having a full stock of everything BUT specials makes you a doucher not super --- douchermarket does have a ring to it. The saving grace, and what gets you the star, is the friendly staff. They greet warmly, they service quickly and converse pleasantly, and above all they put up with all of the patronage described above which would require patience and restraint at a threshhold that I currently don't posses.

I have started switching to Coles for some items and/or phoning around to find a Woolies that I have to travel to to get the items I used to always get at Coogee. Woolworths Coogee used to be my primary go-to store because I live in Coogee but I've even tried Aldi a few times lately. The worst of it is that it seems to be always the healthier items that disappear from Woolies at Coogee - Krummies breadcrumbs that are wholegrain or mixed grain for example ... where have they been for the last week?? Jalna plain full fat yoghurt 500g ..... nup ...now I am being forced to buy a massive 1 kg container of it which means half of it will have to be thrown away. Rows and rows of useless, sweet soda drinks and unnecessary cleaning products. Pets better catered for than people. Fruit and vegetables that are as hard and tasteless as rocks and look like they've been in cold storage since the Ice Age. The quality of the fruit and veg is so bad now that I've been going back to ordinary greengrocers. Expensive Maloneys in Coogee Bay Road at least has the quality that Woolworths does not. Also I strongly object to the insidious brand monopoly thing that is happening at Woolies where the brands I used to like disappear and a Woolworths brand is pushed in your face. The only thing I will say (again agreeing with the previous reviewer) is that the staff at Coogee are very nice indeed.

If you wanna talk, go outside and came back after finished. i asked which rules stating people shouldn't talk on the phone while they are in the supermarket? She said our supermarket is different, you are annoying other people (I saw no one coming to the shop and no one around me). She even said to call the police. Which I agreed! Call the police to see whats the problem? IS TALKING ON THE PHONE WHILE AT THE SHOP IS A CRIME??? Don't ever go this shop, the staffs are rude , unhelpful and ridiculous. To be honest I have…read morenot examined Tokyo Super as closely as I should and I am a little deterred by the pricing as they are charging substantially more than other Asian supermarkets for some of the same products. However they also have more than the others. In Asia Oreo's are a big thing, yes you can buy Oreo's everywhere but not the same varieties as in Asia, Tokyo Super stocks all the different types including my favourite the chocolate and peanut butter. The best thing at Tokyo Super though is the ice cream, I just bought a box of Taro ice blocks which I was very excited about and they stock a wide range of Asian style ice cream including multiple options of black sesame, red bean and green tea ice cream, they are pricy but worth it.

Plastic tubs of dried fruits and nuts tower on one side of the entry, and fruit and veg on the other. Rows of uniform leeks, beetroots and carrots are crying out to be whizzed up into soups or sizzled into stir fries. I could spend hours exploring their shelves laden with organic oats, lentils, muesli and all manner of other amazing produce. The emphasis here is very much Australian, and they have a wide selection of organic goods here too. What makes Maloneys extra-special is their staff. Extremely friendly and chatty, helpful and efficient. When I reached the checkout, the guy serving me recommended that I buy a different type of passion fruit which was on special offer, thereby saving me about $3. He also helped me pick the ripest avocados and was extremely friendly. I think a shopping experience at Maloneys can best be epitomised by the jar of free sweets they have sitting at each checkout, and the fact they didn't mind that I took two.
