I've worked with Dr. Phipps, Will (PT assistant), and Mitch (student) on different occasions. Each one has taken my pain concerns very seriously and modified exercises to accommodate. Even adding in exercises to help other areas of weakness - leg and hip included - to improve the stability for my ankle. All 3 have definitely put me to work at the clinic and at home. I leave feeling great and a bit sweaty. The exercises they have provided are simple, work the necessary areas, and overall increase my strength. I complete exercises using equipment via an exercise bike, leg press, a step, and resistance bands, as well as exercises using my own body weight: calf raises, lunges, squats, balancing, and other various stretches. They provided paper instructions with the exercises as well as information to download an app with videos of the exercises I needed to do at home. They also definitely show you how to do them while you're there. I learn visually so it helps to see someone complete the exercise first so I can mimic the action. I'm in my third week of therapy and I can definitely feel a difference in strength and pain. The pain I do experience is half of what it was that had originally caused me to seek help. Overall this place is really great! I would recommend this location AND all the therapists here. Can't wait to go back on Friday!

Doctor Shaw is the most arrogant doctor I've ever met. Beacon is slipping. He doesn't care about…read morethe patients and doesn't take the time to examine anything. His conclusions are formed before he walks in the room due to his arrogance. Basically, he says kiss my ass and pay me. Run as far from him as possible. Beacon needs to remove him from the staff before they get a lawsuit against them.

Dr. Kevin Shaw at Beacon Orthopedics in Fairfield, Ohio, seemed in a hurry or rushed the second he…read morewalked into our exam room. We were there for a second opinion so he had allegedly already taken a look at the original x-ray. I also wanted to ask questions and point out something I saw on the x-ray. He never looked at it. He talked over me, loudly, had a smug attitude, and was extremely rude to me. He told me there was nothing wrong with my sons leg according to the x-ray, but, as I said, I was there for a second opinion. Children's Hospital took the x-ray, and put my son in a leg brace based on their findings. My son had a knee injury. The excruciating pain was not a constant, and of course my son was experiencing it while we were in the office. But it had returned after the brace, when he does activities, and it at times is so bad that my son cannot walk, that indicates there is still an issue. Dr. Shaw told me kids injure themselves and it's better in a day or two. I told him that this had been happening since April. He shrugged his shoulders. I asked what would he recommend doing? He said "Don't know." From a professional, I was really hoping to get some answer other than "maybe." Dr. Shaw's attitude toward me was that I wasted his time, I was inferior to him, and he nonchalantly dismissed any question that I had about healing my sons leg with a one worded answer such as "maybe." I wonder what it was about me that he was prejudiced against. I NEVER showed any disrespect even when he did, and I never showed any sigh of attitude. I just don't understand why he disliked me so much immediately that he didn't even care to try an assist my son. He should be embarrassed but his demeaning, narcissistic behavior lets me know that, he won't be. I wasn't looking to be coddled, I wasn't waiting for the answer I wanted, I just hoped and assumed he would be professional and give me guidance for my child.
